Very nice people. Because we stayed in the fall season it was beautiful and they were very clean. The room could use a little bit of updating but it was very clean and they had great customer service

Three nights stay for work at this really nice motel. The new owners are great, very friendly and went the extra mile to make sure my wifi was perfect. Stayed in two different rooms and each was themed differently. Mattresses were extremely comfortable, and new. Lots of pillows too. Bathroom was a little narrow for my taste. Didn’t use the pool but did check it out. It looked beautiful at night with the decorations and lights. It’s located near lots of local restaurants, a Dumkin Donuts, grocery store, plus all the boating and skiing in the area. Will definitely stay here again if I get the chance.

I stayed here because I was in the area for a wedding and to be honest, there is not many places around to stay the night. The décor was a little outdated, but the room was clean so I was fine with that. My main issue is the price I paid for what I got. At $ 150 a night, I expect a real towel bathmat and not one of those paper things pulled off a roll. The bathtub itself was so slippery from cleaning chemicals I almost hurt myself when I slipped getting in. There was no hairdryer, iron, coffee maker, or microwave. Strangely enough there was actually a sign posted on the wall saying no coffee makers were allowed, I’m weird but I don’t travel with a coffee maker. To top it all off the bed was the most uncomfortable thing I never slept on, that is because I woke up all night long tossing and turning.

Visiting the Tuck-em Inn is like visiting your friends crazy aunt Sally. She hides the tub drain cover out of fear that you might overflow her tub, doesn’t provide a hair dryer just in case you managed to fill the tub and might electrocute yourself and pads the walls with lists of things that you’re not supposed to do in the room including making coffee(Wtf?). They have a neat indoor pool but its closed during the winter. During check in we were asked three times whether we smoked(we don’t) and then were made to sign a document stating what fines we would pay if we got caught smoking. The locals told us that the husband half of this couple is the sane one but the wife is the only one who handles the front desk. She was nice but seriously, if you’re that worried about your rooms perhaps the hotel industry wasn’t the best choice for you.

Driving up to PA to take my oldest to Sleepaway Camp this past weekend, my husband just wanted to find a decent, «cheap» Motel for an overnight stay. The camp is located in Honesdale, PA(a very rustic and country like town). There were some beautiful resorts located in Hawley/Lake Wallenpaupack(about 10 miles from Honesdale) in our Triple A Tour Book, but most were for a minimum stay of two nights and at $ 380. So, instead we found the Tuck-em Inn Motel in the town of Hawley, which is not a Triple A Motel. I loved the name of the Motel, pics from the Web looked nice some rooms had Jacuzzis(tempting, but not the right weekend), but what sold me was the Indoor Pool! A little history behind this Motel: Owner’s Sue and Ken purchased the Tuck-em Inn 9 years ago. Back then, it did not have a very good reputation. Mostly trucker’s, biker’s and hunter’s would sleep there and supposedly participated in some illicit and lewd behavior during their stay. Over the years, the new owner’s have invested alot of time and money renovating this Motel, trying to make it more of a family type of place. About 2 years ago, Ken built this enormous pool house which homes a beautiful indoor pool. He rents it out all year round for private parties, function’s, etc. I was literally blown away by it, really nicely done and not what I expected at all. I found out that so far he’s booked up through the winter. He also invested a huge amount of money in this high tech sound system complete with disco/strobe lights, a lighted dance floor, shark’s head on the wall that shoots out water and a shower of rain falling down from the ceiling. Ken can even have the laser shine a person’s name onto the water. At around 7PM, after finishing dinner, my kids could not wait to get into that pool. They had it all to themselves for a while until 2 other children had the same idea. The four were having the best time while I was speaking to their grandmother. Small world — she happens to live in Valley Stream, right near the Co-op that we used to live in before moving to Levittown. A short time later, Ken came in and decided to give the kids their own private party. Pool light’s went off, strobe and laser lights went on, the pool lit up in multi colors and the music blasted so loud it felt like I was in some club. Ken had to have been a DJ at one time because he really knew how to entertain these kids and definitely had the voice for it. Although the pool was suppose to close at 9PM, their«party» continued until 10PM. If this Motel had some amenities(which is why it’s not Triple A rated), there would be no question that it would get a 5+ star rating from me. From the rooms to the pool area, everything is decorated in a jungle theme. Really strange, even our room had some little monkeys hanging from the walls. It is now a smoke free Motel. The rooms are all equiped with TV’s and a refrigerator. There is not an outlet in the bathroom and there is no vanity. I had to unplug the air conditioner so I could use the blow dryer. Speaking of bathroom’s, it’s really clean, but, the toilet is extremely close to the wall. I had to laugh because my husband had a hard time maneuvering his way around(and he is going to kill me if he ever reads this — guys, at more than180+ lbs. you will have a problem). There are no phones in the rooms so obviously you can’t get a wake up call, but there is an alarm clock. Best suggestion is to get all the towels, toilet paper, tissues etc. that you may need at the time of check in because there is no one in the office past 9PM. There is also no restaurant in the Motel but lots of places to eat within a mile or so. This Motel is immaculate and I give the owners alot of credit for turning the Tuck-em Inn Motel into a really nice and comfortable place to stay. You can tell they really put their heart into it. I would not come back here if I was planning any extended stay, but no doubt I definitely would return for another overnighter. Also, my thanks to Ken for giving my daughter the best send off I could ever ask for — and he didn’t even know it!
