Hair washer pulls you back to the bowl by your hair. So that’s classy. Towel always smell mildewy. The owner always states you’ve had a bad haircut if you have gone somewhere else and will seriously up charge you. Like she’s announcing to the salon it’s not her fault. Ended up 310 $ bill and was given a couple coupons to use as well. So ended up 280 $ when was told at appointment it would be around 150 $ with cut and color with coupons. The owner of a salon should not accept tips. It’s a known rule that a business should uphold. Another thing I think stylists get lazy after a while and don’t do as much as your first few visits. I don’t want an 80 $ haircut that just trims bottom and a few snips on the layers. Has anyone ever felt it’s always something to come back and fix? The «I’m going to leave this part here and will let it grow bit» comment.

Christy (the owner) deserves 5 stars. One of the best hair cuts I’ve had for curly hair! Gave salon 4 stars because the stylist they originally recommended for curly hair, gave me a very poor cut and bad color. When I complained, the salon was respectful to me, and set me up with Christy for free. Christy gave me a fantastic cut, and fixed my base color.

I moved to the area in 2009 and have been searching for a great salon that is reasonably priced ever since with no success so I have been driving to Ashburn. That is until today! Yay! I was a «walk-​in» to Christy’s and a first time customer, yet was treated with such professionalism, courtesy, and respect like I had been a customer for years by every team member that I came into contact with. Not only was I a «walk-​in», I was also a hot mess having just left the gym and having my in home color catastrophe two nights ago done by yours truly. While there, I saw every employee smiling and demonstrating a tremendous amount of teamwork that was just natural to them.
My stylist was Lauren who took a very consultative approach to my color, cut, and product recommendations (specifically geared towards my hair) which I greatly appreciated. I declined on all products today just to see if my great experience continued & it did. There was zero pressure to purchase anything, yet I already knew it was recommended and the recommended products were those she had suggested based off of the concerns I had shared with her and those that she used on my hair today to attack them. Before today, I had never pre-​booked my next appointment, but I was so impressed and delighted with Christy’s and Lauren, that I am already looking forward to seeing them again!

They color corrected my hair because it was a hot mess from too many bad bottled hair dye. They actual suggested a method to correct my hair that was in my budget. The color is gorgeous. The hair cut is just beautiful and I got the royal treatment.

I love this place! They truly treat you like family. Once you walk in its smells like shampoo and NOT ammonia like the rest of places that use cheap color. I have my stylist Brenda who is amazing! Have been coming here for about a year now. I had a horrible highlights done and she not only was able to correct my color but also was able to add a gloss and do all over high lights!
One thing to remember is to keep your appointment. The ladies here can become extremely booked very fast.

I have debated on writing this, but every time I look in the mirror, I become more convinced. After I received my THIRD letter in the mail offering the best cut of my life at no cost, I caved and made an appointment. I guess I should have read the fine print that I wouldn’t get an experienced stylist, but that shouldn’t have mattered as they were saying it would be the best. The stylist assigned to me was very sweet. She pointed out how bad my last haircut was. Funny, because my hair was looking better than it had in a while. She did my roots, which came out fabulous. Then came the haircut, which was only supposed to clean up the cut that I had (which I loved). This is the WORST haircut I have had in 40 years. It looks like I have a different haircut on the left side of my head than the right side of my head. And I HATE the left side. I’m new to this area and don’t know where to go and get it fixed. I did not expect any cut could be this bad

I would not recommend this salon to anyone. The place is a hole in the wall; the staff, while friendly, are not what you’d expect going to a «salon and spa» in Haymarket (nose rings and black lipstick?); and the facilities are filthy. The carpets were totally stained, there was clutter in every room, and the spa area was essentially a dirty closet. The esthetician smoked, and so her hands reeked of tobacco smell (not what you want when you’re receiving a facial), and she took FOUR (yes, count them!)…FOUR cigarette breaks — leaving me lying there with goop on my face waiting for her return. It took 2 ½ hours for the facial. I have never had a facial take that long. Won’t EVER go back!

Waited a day to see if perhaps the haircut was not as bad as I first thought… it’s…ok.
But I can’t say I had a pampering ‘spa experience’ at Christy’s. It was obvious once I didn’t get any additional services beyond a cut that they were just getting me outta there asap. A 20 min wash n’ cut and «don’t forget to schedule another appt before the holidays». :-/​
First time I got my hair cut here I liked it, til I washed it. It was nice when straightened and styled, but not when just washed and air dried… it was choppy. I have (had, gulp) long wavy hair, totally wash n’ go.
But it wasn’t a ‘bad’ cut so decided to give her another try and ask for something simple.
Second time I asked that she just take off the dead stuff (it was to my waist), maybe add some shape, but that I really liked it below-​the-​shoulder length. Idk… she might not have heard me over her aggressive up-​selling. All I asked was that it be below the shoulder…
Now I can barely put it in a ponytail. And its ‘chopped’. No shape. Looks like I got a $ 20 haircut (I didn’t…).
Sigh. I wish I had been less mortified and able to say what I thought about it when I was there, but I was kinda taken aback at how short it was. Oh well, it’s just hair…(sob).
So, I’ll be Pat for a few months… no biggie.

I have short hair. The place was empty, and I was hoping I could get a quick cut and come back for highlights or get an appointment for later that day or the next day. I was informed that only certain people cut short hair there. Said person was on vacation until the 12^th, a Sunday. I was in my work uniform, clean, and ready to spend my hard earned cash on a good cut and color. I felt like I wasn’t good enough to be there. The owner (I believe) and 2 stylists made it known they don’t cut short hair. I left, but I felt like since I didn’t look like I could afford the services they didn’t want to help me. I was hoping for a great experience, but sadly I left feeling like I wasn’t important to them.

Scheduled an appointment with Samantha for my color. Turned out fantastic! love Samantha and this salon. I ended up getting an Ombré which is not what I planned but I absolutely love it.

I never give reviews, but Brenda fixed my hair color from another salon in the area, and she is amazing. She took her time, which meant I was there for a while (for a corrective color), but she is a perfectionist and I appreciate that quality when getting my hair done.
The salon is small, but it was relaxing to be in a more intimate setting. The shampoo chairs are out of this world; they are massage chairs!
All the stylists helped eachother; mixing more color, etc. I would try any stylist there judging the work I saw and the education they recieve. Brenda was worth every penny spent! Thank you!

I have been seeing Christy for several years now and can’t say enough about the salon. I always leave amazed at how good my hair looks! I love walking in and telling her to do whatever she wants with my cut and color! A pure artist!!! So glad I found her.

I wish I had listened to the previous review prior to visiting this salon…
I scheduled an appointment for a bridal hair and make-​up trial. I arrived early, and 15minutes after my appointment time, the stylist came out to apologize. At this point, I was not mad. She stated she was running behind and would be another 15minutes, and therefore suggested I run across the street to grab some coffee. I came back 15minutes later, just to wait some more. Over 45 minutes after my appointment time, I was finally brought back to the chair. I was irritated, but gave her the benefit of the doubt. I didn’t actually get mad until she rushed through my appointment and charged me for a full hair and make-​up trial.
The updo was pretty… not exactly what I had showed her in the picture, but it wasn’t bad.
The make-​up, on the other hand, was awful. She only spent 10 minutes applying the make-​up, most likely because she was so far behind. She suggested that I did not need a base layer (which I have never heard of for a wedding). I’m assuming this suggestion was solely because she was rushing through the application. The eyeliner was thick, clumpy, and she left a gap between the edge of my lid and where the liner began (I used to do a better job in high school). She did not have different color eye liners to try. The eye shadow consisted of a basic color on the lid, and no shading/​shadowing above the lid/​below the brow. The bronzer was blotchy– my face just looked dirty. She did not have any lipstick to apply and she did not even put on mascara. The worst part… it looked like she was using her own personal make up.
Advice for the salon:
1. If you are running behind, give your customers a realistic estimate. I would have much rather been given an estimate of 45 minutes and given the option to reschedule
2. If you do not have time to do a good job, please say so and reschedule the rest of the appointment. Do not just do an incomplete job
3. If you do not do a full make-​up application, you shouldn’t be charging for it

Tristan is fabulous! I thought it was genius that she showed me pictures on an ipad about the type of hair style I was describing so make sure we both had the same idea. I’ve seen her my past two visits and can’t WAIT for my next appointment with her. Friendly and polite staff and I really enjoy the room in the back to wait while my hair color is setting. Would recommend this place to anyone!
