Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hays

For a road trip stop over, this is a good, inexpensive place. Rooms and beds are comfortable. Breakfast is included and ok. Automatic pancake maker is interesting, and makes not so edible, large, flat, gummy pancakes. The biscuits and omelettes were good though.

This is truly an oasis in the high plains of Kansas. We were cheerfully greeted by Gennie at reception, checked into a nicely decorated and clean room, had a sound nights’ sleep in a comfortable bed, and had a yummy pancake breakfast. The only negative was the very low flow shower head. Fix the shower, and this is a Ritz Carlton level experience in Hays Kansas.

Perfect stay. New, clean, very nice décor, friendly staff, nice pool and hot tub. Slept great and would definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately, I work in Hays several times a year and this is the only place I will stay. Newer hotel off I-​70. Clean rooms, nice staff good location.

This was actually our second stay at this hotel. I even bookmarked it for our next cross country trip. Very nice and clean, the bathroom was spotless! Was impressed with the décor, modern looking and up to date. We had a third floor room and it was very quiet. We arrived late in the evening so we could get a room with 2 queen size beds which ended up being a plus, extremely comfortable and room to stretch out in. Will definitely return.

Newer look and comfortable clean rooms. Held a meeting there and was very pleased with the outcome in the end although there were some difficulties in the beginning. Hope to stay again.

Stay elsewhere. The staff were rude and the room smelled funny, even though the building is nearly new. Housecleaning knocked on the door repeatedly starting at 8 am even though we had the «do not disturb» sign out. We didn’t stay for breakfast as we were tired of saying «come back later, please.»

Spiffy, new hotel was a welcome surprise in the middle of a 700-​mile (one-​way) road trip. Nice comfy, largish room, attractive lobby. Nicely appointed bed linens and got a kick out of the «soft» and «firm» pillowcases labeling the pillows.

We reserved a room for our daughter and her husband for two nights on the Internet, confirmed for late arrival with a credit card. The next day, my wife went to the inn and attempted to pay for the room with a check. They refused to accept the check, even though they had our valid credit card on file. So, after she returned from the bank with cash, they then would only accept payment in the amount of the rate their computer showed for the room at that moment, and not at the lower rate confirmed on the Internet reservation. My daughter had given them a printed copy of the reservation confirmation when she checked in, but the hotel could not produce this. Not until my wife came back to our house, got my iPad, and took it to the hotel with the reservation confirmation, would they accept payment at the confirmed rate. The desks clerk was extremely unfriendly during this entire time.
There is a better place to stay in Hays!

This is a new hotel along I-​70 through Kansas, which I saw last Fall and decided to try this past week, as it’s in an area needing a few new hotels. It was very nice, very clean & had a friendly staff. The rooms were quiet, had comfortable beds & showers and there are several restaurants nearby. All in all, it is a good choice as you drive between Kansas City and Denver. I’ll return.

We have stayed in motels across the US, mostly Hampton Inns, but this is the best we have been in years! The rooms are spacious, well designed and engineered. The whole complex is just very impressive. Even the beautiful lamp on the huge table between the beds has two electrical outlets as part of the lamp! Kudos! I have a new favorite!

On my way from STL to Denver I hit Hays KS right about dusk. Time to stop for the night. Now there were numerous hotels to choose from but I have member cards for certain hotel chains so I try to hit them if at all possible. Holiday Inn is one of those chains.
This place is definitely not your Father’s Holiday Inn. It looked very new and snazzy to boot. Clean spacious rooms, comfy bed with nice linens, flat screen TV — very nice. The only downfall was that it was a little pricey for being in the middle of KS. Oh well you get what you pay for.
