My favorite place to go when I wanted to grab a yummy bite before class. I always got their bagel breakfast which has egg, cheese, and a delicious slab of ham on a bagel of your choice. They usually only have one person working since this is family run business so don’t expect your food to be served quickly. It’ll be a wait but well worth it. They have a huge selection of food and drink choices to pick from. The décor is lovely; bright, sunny, and friendly. They have table and chairs outside and magazines to read. It has been almost a year since I’ve been there so I don’t know if they are closed down although I highly doubt it. I heard that they just had a change of owners but I could be wrong.

I love this place. I come here to study/tutor/eat yummy food/drink great coffee when we need to get out of the house. Example of how awesome the owners are: I wanted avocado on my sandwich and they were out of it, so Julio went next door to buy one! They are open until 9, have a 10% student discount, serve beer and wine, free cable internet wireless, and serve dinner on Friday nights. It’s a short walk from CSU East Bay(less than a mile). One of the only redeeming qualities of this awful town.

Even though this coffee shop is practically next door to my home, I never go there. I had a few less than stellar experiences early on when I moved in(five years ago), and never went back. I went back today, to meet Unilocalster Lilly O. for a cuppa joe. To get me away from my desk and her away from her schoolwork for a short while. It is a really nice little coffee shop! Clean and friendly, with decent selection for brewed and espresso coffees. They have tables outdoors so I could bring Muttly. They had some food items too, and I’m thinking about trying their Friday night dinners(they serve beer and wine, too… key to my heart). Sometimes second chances are a good thing.

Every Friday night, the owner cooks a wonderful dinner. Generally all you can eat, for about $ 10. Wine and dessert are available for an extra cost. Past dinners have included tri-tip, ribs, and chicken with one or two side dishes and a salad. It’s cash only, but you can use the ATM next door at the market.
