Store closes for good on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. I didn’t get to this store to frequently, but stopped on my way down to San Jose to an «everything must go.» There are now no Catherine’s in the Bay Area. Modesto, Stockton, Elk Grove, and Sacramento.

My plus-sized wife shops at Catherines and not only appreciates their selection, but loves the people at the store in Oxnard. Not too long ago I accompanied her to the Catherines in Hayward and was surprised by the difference in attitude. The women there seemed so unhelpful — surly, really. I actually had the impression that they resented their customers! Henceforth, will opt to do her shopping online.

I love Catherine’s, they have great clothes that look nice, for plus size women. It is the place to go if you need something special, a step above The Avenue and Lane Bryant. I always get their when it is quiet and the staff is always friendly. It is a long drive but worth it.

You have very few choices in the bay area… actually only this one… if you want plus size clothes and as you know, there are few places that carry nice things. So, for that reason I tolerate the sporadic customer service and the very long wait to check out as previous reviewers have mentioned. As far as being rude to customers, it depends on the clerk. I have had some really surly ones and some very sweet ones during the 14 years I have shopped there. I just consider this place my punishment for not being able to fit into smaller sizes. It is the beautiful clothes that keeps me coming back. ANDALWAYSSAVEYOURRECEIPTS… you will get no refund without one !!!

They are so slow at this location. DONOTGOHEREIFYOU’REIN A HURRY. And… I had to have an item sent to my home since my size was unavailable in the store. After stating that I saw my OLD address on the little credit card screen thing, the lady still went thru with my order, «checked» the delivery address and said it was my new address. On Monday I received an e-mail from UPS/USPS stating my delivery address. and it was WRONG. Now I have to call the post office and have them hold my package once it arrives. so I have to check every day on the website to check the status. then I’ll have to go down to the post office and pick up my package, on my own time. This place has a total lack of attention to detail and a lack of attention when there are 9 people in line. Ugh.

if i could it would be –5 stars for customer services… I’ve been here a few times and always had an ok experinces. BUT watch out if you return anything here, I went in and wanted the return some shorts for another pair, and also got a few more things… It was easy. i want to return for another pair … but it turned it to ANHOUR… im not going to go into the hole story but just KEEPANEYEONTHEMWHENYOUCHECKOUT…

I like the clothing, I just dread going here for the wait to pay. The previous review was so right on about how long it takes to ring up a sale. Last time I was there, I was second in line by myself, but by the time I was finished, there were another 6 people behind me an 4 on the other side and I could tell it was going to take about an hour for the last person to be rung up. Plus, the employees seem to like to hide in the back when it comes to helping customers at the register. I’ve seen one come out, look at the line and turn around and go back and hide. Not Good. Please, get some quicker help.

This review is solely based on customer service I called them and a lady picked up with the usual«Catherines, can I help you?» greeting. I ask for the address to their store and she literally yells back at me «This is Catherine’s 633 Southland Mall !!» then hangs up.
