Miss this place. Best quesadillas I ever had. I used to come here every other week. Owners please come back, or open a new restaurant!

I was super sad to hear that this place closed down a few months ago. They had very tasty carne asada and the staff were always friendly. I hope they manage to re-open in another location. The business that opened up in its place is a little Filipino restaurant with dirt cheap prices and«blah» food. El Jalisciense, please come back!

NOOOOOOO… This place is closed! Best Mexican food in Hayward, ever… RIP All the meats were flavorful and well seasoned, the items were all well made. Great service. Come back!!! AUGH!!! I wonder if their number on my speed dial still works… lol

Man this place is great!!! I go here probably every other week. It’s a small place with a small staff but the food is excellent, the service is fantastic and has a great vibe. I recommend this place to everyone! Definitely worth a try.

Came here with a few friends for lunch. I got a shrimp burrito. It was delicious but a bit pricey.

I ordered the fish tacos with rice and beans per suggestion from another Unilocaler and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, taste and affordability of my meal. Ava, who runs the restaurant, tries hard to make the menu simple and straight-forward. I hate going to taquerias where there are almost 30 items on the menu when all I want is a filling meal with NO upselling! Parking is ample, the place is very clean but will admit to the limited seating. Take away is your best bet. Starving Cal State East Bay college students REJOICE!

Went here with a co-worker a while ago while we were in the neighborhood and searching for a lunch spot. Actually, we first noticed Hungry Howie’s, but when we saw this place at the back of the lot, we decided to give it a shot. It doesn’t look like much from the outside — in fact, it’s really easy to miss driving by. Hell, it doesn’t even look like all that much when you walk inside– just another small(albeit clean and inviting) taqueria.(And by small I mean the four — yes, four — tables make the place feel a little crowded.) But the ladies working there(maybe the owners?) were really wonderful, and the food — oh, man, the food is good. I think some of the older reviews on here are probably from the previous owner, as I think I saw something about new management when I first went there in fall 2010. I had the fish tacos, and they melted in my mouth. Best fish tacos I’ve ever had, by far. I forget what my co-worker ate, but it’s suffice to say that though we were chatting away before the food came, not a peep was uttered for a solid ten minutes after said food arrived. It was that damn good. If you’ve been searching for that little undiscovered hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint with kickass food, search no further– your quest ends here. Just don’t tell too many people or it’ll get real hard to get a table real fast! PS– their homemade flan is to die for.

A solid Super burrito. Nothing too fancy but every visit has yielded same results. A full belly of good food made by good people. I’ll return again to patronize this Mom & Pop spot. Go with the Super Burrito w/chicken and everything on it. Match that with a real Pepsi or Coke and some of their chips and you’re set. It’s behind Hungry Howies, keep an eye out.

Hidden behind Hungry Howies, next to 7 – 11. The people here are super nice. The food here is pretty good. I’ve had better and worse, but this is the closest taqueria to my place. The main reason I recommend this place is the super nachos. I get the veggie nachos and they add a little fajita-esque onions and peppers in place of the meat. YUM! This place doesn’t use lard in their refried beans, but their rice is not vegetarian. The burritos really need the rice to sop up all that wetness, especially if you get the veggie or chile relleno burrito, so I rarely get burritos here. My man, who eats meat, likes them and their chicken quesadillas. They also give you this little cup of deliciousness, also called salsa, with their chips. It’s not spicy in any way, but its so tasty that I ask for 2. The ambiance is fine for lunch, but I usually get their take-out for dinner and they’re very quick with that. They also have like normal ass sandwiches and fries. This is why I’m fat dot com: I’ve asked them to make their super veggie nachos with fries instead of chips and they’ve done it for me.

I like this place. I eat here often when I’m looking for a quick mexican food fix. I only eat seafood, so I can’t relate to what others say about their meat, but I like the shrimp wet burritto and the fish tacos. I also really like the salsa that comes with their chips. And she makes some of the best horchata!

Maaan, from the smell of things here, you’d think their meat would be ridiculously delicious. But, whatever the hell they use to make their Al Pastor tasted like really runny BBQ sauce and it just wasn’t that great. I should have gotten the carnitas or carne asada. Also, the chips were store bought and the salsas weren’t very spicy. which is a big big downer for me. But, the ladies that run this place were total sweethearts & deserve some love for that alone. I asked if this place was any relation to the poorly operated establishment in Oakland and they advised me that it was not, which is a relief because that place really went down hill. This place is small, so if you’re claustrophobic(like me) when you eat and need elbow room, I’d advise you to just get your food to go and make sure you have some serious hot sauce at home since you’re only going to get mild stuff that they deem hot here.

I get their Chicken Nachos to go every once in a while. It’s about $ 7 and enough to feed an army. I usually call in a order and pick it up 15 minutes later. They’re not easy to spot driving down Mission Blvd. They’re located behind Hungrey Howies and left of 7 – 11.

The place was better than I expected. Cane Asada was good and juicy, lengua was just ok. A little on the tough side, but the Salsa made up for the texture. The salsa was really good. Spicy, and smoky. Looking forward to trying the other meats and menu items. Beware: the restaurant is tiny, and the service can get really slow when it’s crowded.

I’m not going to return here. The service was slow, the food was, well, edible but not really anything for which I would return. I had passed the place many times en route to school, and finally one night D. and I were curious, so we went in. My first impulse was to leave; there were garish futbol posters, etc, all over the wall. It looks as though they’re set up as a sports bar, only it was completely empty when we went in. There are so many other places to go in the area… with better ratings, so…

this tacqueria is hidden behind another eatery. the front can’t be seen from the street, just the sign. don’t know if this place is related to the oaktown’s but the name is similar. the sauce seems similar but not the meat. while waiting for my order, i noticed they served fries with some orders. menu: burritos 4.99, supers 5.99 tacos 1.75 entrée: al paster burrito 4.99 medium size burrito without much plazzaz, the innards were average. the al pastor was a little dried and some had the gristle sill attached. the comped chips were good. the accompanying chipotle sauce was great! friendly service, lots of parking.
