Delicious food and great service! Will definitely come back! I had the chicken kabob and it was so good.

Good food, not so good service. It seems like they are more interested in catering to non-middle eastern customers with a smile, which is not really fair.

The Kababs are delicious! So tasty and moist. The service is very good, with friendly faces to greet you when you arrive. I made reservations for 9 people and when we arrived our table was ready for us. The ambiance is nice with lots of Windows to feel open and airy. Great place to dine and will plan to return for our next family celebration.

Food is really good I usually call to order and its ready within 15 mins. Make sure to check your order before leaving they often forget to put chutney, utensils or anything extra.

Woohoo lucky us to have found this little gem so close to home! The hubby was craving some chapli and I got the combo plate(chicken and beef), both were deeeelish! Parking is hard to find though so not in the best location.

I had high expectations because of the high reviews. I was disappointed in this place. Ordered the double combo kabob with chapli and murgh to go. Meat was super dried, kind of burnt, and not enough spice. I did try their green sauce, but it just made everything super sour. Also got a side of shor nakhod, which is potato and chickpea, didn’t realize it already came with my combo. It was also super sour too. I did like the bolani though. That would be the only thing I’d come back for.

Ghazni is a small local restaurant in Hayward offering some great food. Had murg kabob platter and it was amazing. Chicken kabob was awesome and cooked to perfection. Also, naan was soft, hot, fresh– right out of the oven. They need to have 1 – 2 more non beef items, 90% of menu has beef dishes. The food was awesome in general and definitely will visit again for murg kabobs and eggplant dish.

We had a business trip to Hayward and wanted to have dinner before our meeting. We found this restaurant on Google and decided to eat there. Wow we were impressed. The place was clean, very friendly hostess and extremely tasty kabobs. A Family run business. Highly recommended.

I found myself«Hungry in Hayward» maybe even a tad Hangry, and Unilocal answered my prayers with this gem. Clearly, the dish to get here is the Double Combo Kebab, with the first being the Shami Kabob(think kufta) and chicken as the second. The spices in the shami kebab were perfect. The ample fat content of the beef makes for a perfect taste. The chicken was tender as well and a nice balance. The dipping sauces complimented and I had to ask for more. Too bad this place is so far away because I want to try everything on their menu which wouldn’t take too much time because it’s small and I’d probably eat here every other day. Time for a second spot in SF, folks?

I was in search of good good and my uncle told me about this restaurant. It’s small place but full of positive energy. Very friendly staff and the first impression was just perfect. I ordered the combo of beef and chicken and it was perfectly cooked and the portion size was enough. Prices are very good as well the owners are very kind and friendly. Highly recommended.

Wow wow wow! What a little gem! Delicious kabobs at decent prices. Great service and food. Family owned business a little small but they are in the process of expanding. The kabobs are so juicy and tender l. The salad and rice are so delicious and fresh. One of the only good places to eat in Hayward. Will return here again soon.

This is going to be our new favorite place to eat! I’ve driven by this little hole in the wall so many time, that I thought we’d try it out. What a treat! We were greeted like family right away and seated. The woman(owner) who waited on us was very friendly and made suggestions since we’d never been there. We had the potato bolani appetizer. There was way more than we could eat, so most of that came home after. I had the beef kabobs and my wife had the chicken kabob. There was this amazing green cilantro sauce and red chili sauce, both out of this world. Do yourself a favor and go have some lovely Afghan food here at Ghazni. It really doesn’t get much better than this!

I’m slightly embarrassed to say, but while I’ve made my way around SF, Oakland, San Jose, and The Peninsula, I’ve never made much of an attempt to check out what Hayward has to offer. Not that I have anything against this part of the Bay Area; I’ve just never had a reason to come on by! After trying Ghazni though? Perhaps I should come out this way more often! Located just a few streets over from downtown Hayward/Mission, Ghazni is on a relatively quiet and unassuming block of A Street. Which is perfect, since parking is a breeze(all of us were able to park within a half a block). Inside, the restaurant is simple and straightforward, much like the menu — four different starters, about a half dozen types of kabobs, and a couple of sides. That said, don’t be scared off by the limited offerings. What Ghazni may lack in quantity and variety, they definitely make up for in quality. – BOLANI — Seasoned Flatbread with Potatoes(or Leeks)…$ 9.95 ( ) While I had zero expectations, I never would’ve guessed the portion would be so HUGE! The look/texture is similar to Chinese Scallion Pancakes, but not as oily(and it had potatoes instead of scallions). Although it could’ve been crisper, I liked the taste of it, especially with the accompanying sauces. – TRIPLEKABOBCOMBO — Lamb Kabob, Murgh(Chicken) Kabob, Shami Kabob(Ground Beef Skewer)…$ 14.95 ( ) Individually, there may not have been a lot of any one kabob, but as a whole, there was a ton to devour(especially with the rice and salad). Of the three, the Shami was my favorite — juicy and very flavorful. Not that the lamb or chicken were bad; both were great and well seasoned, though the chicken was a touch dry by comparison. While my experience with Afghan restaurants may be a bit limited, Ghazni would have to rank at(or near) the top of what I’ve tried thus far. Compared to the likes of Kabul across the bay, you get just as much while paying more than a few bucks less. That, plus the fact service is awesome(they’re so nice!) makes Ghazni a winner, even if they are all the way in Hayward!

I’d been meaning to try Ghazni for such a long time, and I finally jumped at the chance one Friday evening. It was a little restaurant I’d driven past countless times, and I had heard compliments regarding their food and service from friends. Parking is street-side, the restaurant is petite, and the interior has a cozy family-run feel to it. Service was friendly and rather informal, keeping to the general feel of the restaurant. Complimentary bread with dipping sauce: ( ) This was a nice little appetizer to tide us over before the arrival of our entrees, and while the bread was fresh, it was room-temperature and not warmed up. The sauce was well-made, but it was rather watery. Lamb kabob plate with seasoned rice and salad: ( ) The lamb kabobs were very well-seasoned, albeit a little dry. The seasoned rice was unmemorable, but I did not the freshness of the side salad. The yogurt sauce was a little scant, a detail I was conflicted on because while I appreciate that the entire thing wasn’t doused in sauce, it did leave me wanting of a little more. Beef kabob with seasoned rice and salad: ( ) Between the beef and the lamb, I definitely preferred the lamb. The beef was a bit drier, and coupled with the rice, it wasn’t as palatable as the lamb. The salad had the same modest amount of yogurt sauce, but it did alleviate the dryness of the beef. The food here is certainly good, but compared to a few other restaurants I’ve been to, it paled a little in comparison. I wouldn’t mind stopping by again for a quick bite, especially if I’m in the area.

Have wanted to come here for a while. We had company in from out of town and this was our first stop. We ordered the Bolani with leeks. It came with a green, not overly spicy sauce and a yogurt sauce. This dish was delicious and easily enough for four to share. Two of us ordered the chicken, the other two lamb. The salad on the plate was flavored with dill; the green olives added a nice burst of salt. A ramekin of chick peas was made with cucumbers and had a wonderful flavor. Both the chicken and lamb were perfectly cooked, tender with a bit of char. I’m glad we finally made it here. We will be back to eat in or carry out.

While I was waiting to get my eyeglasses repaired, I decided to venture out to find some unique food. I decided I was going to give afghani cuisine another try, so I picked this place. The place is located on a corner and is a small restaurant. On the inside, there’s a few tables but not many. I ordered their ground beef kebab lunch special. Looked nice enough. It came with the traditional afghani rice and a small side of salad. I was not particularly impressed though with the spices in the kebab nor was the dressing good either. The beef quality seemed good enough and cooked well without it being dried out. But the lack of spices left it kind of bland to me. Maybe this is how afghani food tastes to me. My gold standard for kebabs is Raffi’s Place down in Glendale, Ca. Though they’re Armenian and not Afghani, go there if you’re ever in the area for a truly superb kefta kebab.
