Gave 1 star because I had to give a star I didn’t want to give any, Horrible customer service everytime I called there was an excuse about getting an appt. never have any appts. available or they were saying they might be moving. Kept calling never got a call back so I canceled my voucher, guess I’ll have to keep looking since my usual place closed.

I was a little wary of this place considering the area but I couldn’t pass up a good massage deal so close to home. I’ve come here twice now using my Living Social voucher(3 massages for $ 109) and both times I left feeling good and relaxed. — My first massage was a hot stone with Melissa. I’ve had hot stone before at a resort and although the massage didn’t compare as far as the location and décor, Melissa was awesome! She always made sure the stones weren’t too hot and overall just did an amazing job on my massage. My one complaint was that it was a little awkward hearing her sort through the stones throughout the massage. It kinda took me out of my relaxed state. — My second massage was an aromatherapy with Marysia(sp?). She also did a great job and I swear she knew just the right amount of pressure. I have a slight injury on my leg from running and by the end of my massage that pain from my injury was practically non-existent. I had to dock two stars off my review because of the area and their massage rooms. — Their particular spot on A St. has limited, street parking. On my 2nd visit, I was unfortunate enough to not find any parking in front of their building so I had to park quite a ways down and didn’t feel completely safe walking alone in downtown Hayward(even if it was day time). — Both times I’ve had my massage I was placed in the first room on the right. It’s pretty small and if you open the door, anyone waiting in the entrance /reception area can see you so it lacks some privacy. When the massage therapist came in to start my massage I could distinctly hear voices outside as I lay face-down naked on the massage table so that was pretty uncomfortable. — The walls are paper thin. I could clearly hear a someone, either from the office next door or outside, on the phone booking appointments. Fortunately, I was so relaxed that I could zone out most of that noise but it still took away from my overall experience. It’s too bad they’re closing at the end of the month because this place definitely had potential.

I also bought the Living Social deal and had a helluva time getting anyone to answer the phone. I kept leaving messages and«Amanda» would call back and leave a message. Finally got a massage scheduled. Was surprised it was a guy/man but he did a decent job. I am deaf so told him I needed to see his lips if he said anything. Massage went ok and then at end he said something and left the room with me still on my stomach. I have never had a massage that didnt ask me to turn over so was confused. I got dressed and came out and he said yes, it was done. Since the Living Social deal was for 3 massages, I just booked my 2nd one for next week so I’ll revise my review if its any better. Again, it was just«ok» but I’ve definately had better.

WORSTMASSAGEEVERINMYLIFE. I bought the Living Social Deal(and MYGOD Living Social is really reaching to the bottom of the barrel when they pick«spas» like Lavender Serenity.) The massage therapist, if you want to call him that, was about 20 and I have no idea if he ever had any formal training(I didn’t see any certificates from any massage school), but he was truly the worst therapist ever. He wound up hurting me during the hot stone massage I ordered, and that is supposed to be the most comforting and least invasive of all massages. I have had 10 in my life to date, and he did not have a clue how to use the hot stones, let alone keep them hot or even oiled so they would slide on my back. If he was my employee and I read this, either I would send him back to school or fire him. Further, the«spa» was this dark, dank, former office type of place, in a really creepy building. There is NOTHING good I can say about this. I would never return. Don’t waste your money. The Spa Manager was gone when we finished so I was not able to register my complaint in person, as she is the owner of the business as well. If you want a real massage, I suggest trying«Indulgence by Faith» in Alameda for a truly heavenly massage experience. UPDATE: So, I heard they closed. But they sold over 1,000 Deals on Living Social, then closed their doors. Did she run off with the money or what??? That’s what I’d really like to know. As a small business person who has done Deals with Living Social, Trubates, etc…, I really want to know what she did with all the money!!!

I had never had a professional massage when I found a Living Social coupon for 360 minute massages at Lavender Serenity. I thought it would be a great way to see if massage was as wonderful as people make it out to be and to find out which kind of massage suited me. I thoroughly enjoyed my full body Sweedish massage but I knew I had more exploring to do. I did hot stone massage second and instantly knew that this was the massage for me. It was like my massage therapist was in my head and knew exactly the pressure needed and which areas needed more work/heat. The stones were the perfect temperature too! In addition to my amazing massages, the receptionist has always been super friendly and helpful; very happy to go out of her way to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. I feel lucky to have found this amazing place! It has made a believer out of me and I plan on at least a twice monthly massage for now on!

I would never have known this place existed if not for Living Social. Got a very good massage from Mario… highly recommend!
