Tin Fu Restaurant

This Chinese food is so good!!! The service is great the main lady here is always so nice and always remembers what we order!!!

Tin Fu… an interesting name for a restaurant. I’m not sure of it’s meaning, but I’m quite sure of the foods being prepared and the level of service being provided.
I decided to order online and have dinner delivered to the hotel tonight. Using the Unilocal EatStreet app is a very convenient means to do this.
Looking through the online menu, I knew that I really wanted soup and what caught my eye was something called «West Lake Beef Soup””…no clue what this could be was answered by Google… TOO few soups are both hearty and quick to make, but West Lake soup is a stunning exception. Named after its area of origin, in Hangzhou, China, it is sometimes called a variation on egg drop soup. This is a bit like calling a cream-​enriched lobster bisque a variation on creamy potato soup.
In any event, it was superb… very tasty. The con… Perhaps a little less cornstarch, and don’t be so heavy handed with the cilantro.
I ordered for my main entrée, the «Deep Fried Prawns with Salt and Pepper»…it was exactly what I thought it would be, and it was wonderful. Large meaty prawns, with a good mix of onion, chopped cabbage and jalapeño. Pretty darn good!!!
Although I had ordered enough food, I got weak and also ordered «BBQ Pork Egg Foo Young»…way too much food but on its own merits, was equally tasty. Very yummy.
Foor arrived at the agreed time, was packed well, and hot. Great service, very yummy food, acceptable prices.

Tiny place inside, so take out ideal. Huge portions, can be greasy, but normally tasty. 4 stars if not so greasy

Good place. Come and eat here. It is awesome. Reasonably priced and it’s also cozy. It’s readily located in a shopping center.

Prices are a little higher than typical, food and portions are good, but don’t bother ordering online for delivery. It said 45 — 60 minutes. 65 minutes after ordering, we were told the driver was ten minutes away. 25 minutes LATER, we were told the driver was five minutes away. More like ten. 100 minutes for food? Ridiculous. We will probably try swinging by to see if it’s not too crowded for an in-​person visit, but the popularity is clearly hurting the service. I really don’t like being lied to, we will never again order for delivery.

Horrible. picked up $ 100 worth of food on Wednesday pulled it out of fridge on Thursday ALL had spoiled and soured.

Sigh. I have a love-​hate relationship with this place. It’s very average food, but it’s the best that delivers to my house, so I end up getting it more often than I’d like.
Well, the last delivery took an hour and 30 minutes, so now I’m rethinking my stance on Tin Fu. Listing the pros and cons in my head is like trying to reason why you should stay in an abusive relationship.
But they have pretty good vegetable wonton soup…
But the sesame chicken was was covered in duck sauce and tasted nothing like sesame chicken…
But the potstickers are aight…
But the beef in the beef & broccoli was inedible…
And so on. When you’re out of options, there’s always Tin Fu! What a slogan…

Pretty good Chinese. All was warm and delicious when it arrived. I liked the salt and pepper chicken and enjoyed all appetizers. I do wish they made crab wontons instead of the puffs because they get soggy…
The fried rice was a little plain for my liking but I enjoyed everything else… The fried pork ribs were nice also and flavorful.
They gave me like 8000 fortunes cookies too so that was nice and a good amount of sweet and sour. This will be my new go-​to since moving here

This is a fabulously good restaurant. I ordered the beef with snow peas, served with fried rice. You can tell that the person who cooked it is really talented. It was one of my better Chinese meals in the bay area so far.
The consequence of them being as good as they are is they’re slammed. They’re in so much of a hurry and that’s why you see the negative reviews for getting orders wrong, long wait times, and the occasional quality control issue. Those people who complain about this place should just shut up I mean reorder and enjoy the food!

My second time ordering delivery from this place. The food is decent and the delivery arrived in pretty good time considering it’s Friday night. The best part is that they deliver to the hills and the delivery guy was nice. This place will remain my go-​to for Chinese delivery.

Best value for your money!
I have been coming here for many years and the lady knows my order every time. It’s seriously the BEST value you can get. Cheap price with LOTS of food. My family of 5 orders 5 plates for less than $ 35 total.
Their best dishes imo: Chicken Chow Mein and Wor Wonton Soup.
The only downfall to this place is that they don’t vacuum very often. You’ll often find food on the carpet and they don’t seem to have enough storage so there are boxes along the walls.
It’s also become a very popular To-​Go place. If you dine at the restaurant you’ll see many people coming in and out to pick up their orders. If you come at a busy time, you may be last priority over the phone orders if they don’t have enough staff.
The owners are very friendly and welcoming :) Definitely recommend this place!
TIP: Order a lunch or dinner special and split with 2 people.

Pretty good place for being close to my house.

Can’t complain about this place… I always come here and the lady already know my order… you know is great customer service when the owner knows your order…
Everything here is fresh and all the fried items are always crunchy and not saggy.

Childhood favorite place!
My papa used to take me here when I was younger and the lady at the counter knew him pretty well.
Still is a favorite place,
My dad and mom take us all the time too.
It’s a personal relationship with the restaurant that keeps us there, plus the food is delicious and prices at cool.
I hope it gets bigger!

Iv’e passed by Tin Fu on many occasions but never got a chance to stop by. I really wanted some Chinese food today so I said «eh, why not give it a try.» I had to order for pick due to the fact I’m on crutches. I called ahead, and I was connected with a Tin Fu employee right away. I ordered the lunch special which includes your choice of steamed rice or fried rice or chow mien and also a side. The nice employee took my order fast, my food was ready fast, and the chow mien and general chicken was delicious and still hot when I got home! Tin Fu has a variety of dishes to choose from. This restaurant is very affordable and gives you way more food then you pay for. Make sure you can get there for lunch!!! From 11 – 3 the food is a lot cheaper. They have varieties of chicken, shrimp, beef or vegetable sides to chose from. This is one of the best Chinese food places in Hayward for sure!

We’ve ordered delivery many times; the food is always good.
Today I dined in the restaurant for the first time. I ordered something unusual (for me) — Scrambled Egg Beef with fried rice. The meal came with soup and an egg roll.
The meal reminded me of egg foo young without all the ingredients that mold it into a round, little omelette and without the sauce. This is a good thing. The eggs were fresh and the beef had good flavor. I added multiple dabs of the hot sauce, which added just the right kick. It looked like a ton of food, but in reality it was served over a very large pile of fried rice. Still, it was quite a bit of food and I did not finish the rice. I’ll say I’d order it again.
The soup had a twang to it. At first off putting, it grew on me quickly and I enjoyed the whole tiny little bowl.
The egg roll was nothing special. It was certainly not hand made in the back. What was unique was it had a nice, real butter flavor to it. So rather than being fried in old oil, it tasted as though it had been fried in fresh butter or ghee. Again, nothing special here, but the fresh buttery flavor was a nice surprise.
Slow on refills of the room temperature water.
Overall a fine lunch.

I had a bad experience at this place on May 6, 2015. I ordered the Szechuan Beef, when it came out to our table I was impressed with the presentation. Although looks can be deceiving.
When I took a few bites I noticed there was no beef in what I was chewing. I take a look at the other pieces and there was no beef in every single piece of Szechuan «Beef».
I called the waitress over and told her I was not pleased about my meal. She began to explain while picking at my food with my own fork that there was plenty of beef. I’ve added a picture of my order. You be the judge. Im never coming back to Tin Fu again.

3.5 stars for the food.
Great for take-​out orders. Lady who takes the call is really nice, efficient, and friendly.
Ordered honey walnut prawns which was a little different from what im used to. Tin Fu makes their shrimp more heavily dipped in batter and fried whereas most other places are lightly coat with crunch. Still, it was delicious!
Rock cod fish in garlic sauce came with zucchini, carrots, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and snap peas… good flavor, with sweet, salty, crunchy… very tasty but prob best eaten there as the deep-​fried fish gets soggy.
Good pricing, fast, and close to the 20 minute prep time as they state.
Located in the same strip mall as Grocery Outlet and Mtn Mikes Pizza.
