Weekes Community Center-Park

Its a great park i really like it here and the libary is so clean and neat and with most of the books here at the libary here my kids read. And its such a kids friendly place as it should be. And the staff here are great theres so helpful when you cant find something such as a book or a movie. i cant complain about this place. What so ever. I love just letting my kids go and run wild

They have updated the library a lot it’s in a ruff area but it has lots of space for family get togethers lots of green grass nice basketball courts and baseball field parking not so great even though they just added more

Rented out the community center for my son’s 1^st birthday. Great venue for roughly 100 people. Lots of natural light, elevated stage for DJ, updated kitchen with lots of space, and a private playground for your guests. Everybody that I worked with — staff at HARD office and the staff working the day of the event at Weekes were very friendly and answered all my questions. However, if you’re thinking about having an event here, here’s 2 big setbacks in my opinion:
1. No helium balloons allowed. The hall has a tall chapel ceiling so they want to reduce the number of stray balloons.
2. No hanging or taping of anything on the walls allowed.
Although this isn’t the ideal situation, it does force you to get creative with your party decorations. If you’re a Hayward resident, take advantage of the cheaper rental rates for this place.

I grew up in Hayward and I used to visit Weekes park with my friends all the time. Just this weekend I came to visit my mom and decided to take my son to see the park where his mommy had played while young. Since this area is not the greatest in Hayward I didn’t know to expect but I was pleasantly surprised that the park and the playground has not just been upkept but has also had some improvements. My son had a blast playing in the playground and in-​between rest breaks I would share stories with him about the games I used to play. Very happy with my visit and next time maybe i’ll check out the public library too! Maybe my card still works and I don’t have any overdue fees! lol

I go here just to play hoop. Nice cause they have more than one court.

During the summer this place is pretty crackin’. The basketball courts are filled with many local faces who just want to play ball and have fun. People playing from the afternoon till night. I believe there are lights there, you just need to press the button to have them stay on.
If you’re not looking for basketball, there are many Tennis Courts which are open daily. They are in pretty good condition if you ask me.
There is also a Baseball Field where I see local teams play. I usually see softball players there during the baseball season.
The park around it accepts dogs just as long as they are on a leash. During the summer i see free shows where local artist will perform. Different Bands like Rock to Hip-​Hop.
If you live in hayward and youre looking for a summer day of sports or just a walk in the park, this maybe the place for you. The best time to visit this park is the Summer.
