very disappointed with service. three times I have caught them in the wrong… arguing about how i ordered my eggs… sit down service with silverware smelling of bacon… and pick up with pancakes missing and no remedy… they greet their mistake with rudeness and arrogance… I think I’ll start going to Blueberry Hill… anywhere but here… Check everything cause they only want your money

Typical diner. I love diners and getting breakfast at any time of the day. Good food and service, big portions.

BLEH. We got the California skillet and the malibu chicken sandwich. The skillet was pretty dry but the sandwich was good. Service was kinda slow. Not too impressed.

ive been going to this location for years. they usually do a good job with breakfast. not the greatest customer service up front(the guy is quite off-putting) but the servers are pretty nice. however, i will never return to this place again. many times over the years ive ordered chocolate crepes; theyre not on the menu but they make them well. maybe my complaint is my fault for ordering off the menu, but they always do it(quite well) until my last visit. upon receiving my breakfast and taking a couple bites i realized there were no chocolate chips on the top, but more importantly none on the inside either. after pointing this out to the waitress(the little cute girl who’s always there) she could not have cared less, but went to talk to the manager… she came back and said«its not on the menu and we dont put anything inside the crepes thats not on the menu» — but youve been doing it for years, i order this all the time — «well THERESNOTHING I CANDOABOUTIT» — what do you mean? you always make it for me correctly — «my manager says thats the way it was made and now theres nothing i can do about it. would you like to speak to him about it or just have some more coffee?» and thats the last of my money they’ll be getting. it would be unfair to give them 1 star, since i know they can make a good breakfast meal, but ive heard the same manager arguing with customers and i had enough of the conversation as it was. what ever happened to making the customer happy?

If you’re coming to the Big Apple, better bring your appetite. I’ve been here a couple of times now and have to admit that they’ve got a step on all of the other breakfast restaurants in the area. The place is located in a strip mall with tons of parking, and once you get inside doesn’t take long to get seated, even with a packed house. The dining is large and comfortable, and the staff is very courteous and attentive. I did see a couple of kids busing tables though, LITTLE kids. Can’t hate though, builds character. I digress, TOO much food for one meal. Their menu have every option imaginable, from the kinds on cheeses you can add, to the style you want it cooked, they’ve got breakfast down to a science. Some of their signature plates are pretty amazing. The Big Apple pancake is unreal: think apple pie meets pancake. Takes 40 minutes to make and costs $ 10. Lunch is available too. They serve it all in huge portions making it inevitable to leave with a doggy bag. If you actually finished a full breakfast in one sitting, I believe you’d be paying for it for the rest of the day. Prices ain’t bad either, especially considering want you get for the money. This has definitely made a good impression on me, considering I’ve tried all of the nearby breakfast spots. Wish it was open past 3pm. and they offer more juice selections, but I guess you gotta leave room to grow.

The Big Apple is located right around the corner from my dads place so I used to come here a lot to meet up with my family. The atmosphere here seems like a more mom and pop version of the IHOP. I thought that the food and service was far superior from the IHOP though. I thought it was a perfect place to catch up with a family member and have a good conversation while you eat brunch. If you are in the south suburbs, stop by here for an early breakfast, you won’t be disappointed.
