We had the best time at Alexander valley vineyards! Jane was amazing! She took us into the wine caves and explained the intricacies of wine making. We learned so much from her! We bought two bottles and after getting home and opening one, I wish I would have bought more for the price! You won’t be disappointed if u stop here!

Very good wines at fair prices. Tasting room is small and usually uncrowded, creating a more intimate setting to enjoy wines and chat with the friendly staff.

Just wanted to thank everyone at Alexander Valley Vineyards for having us this past Saturday. We had an AMAZING time, and it was a birthday I will never forget. Everyone that helped host was so kind, patient and most importantly knowledgeable about the wine. I can only imagine how difficult it is to round up 20+ excited wine tasters and try to educate them about wine– but the woman who gave the tour managed to do so with ease! The wine cave tour was super cool. We then moved our group to the picnic tables, which were perfect for our big group, and we were able to bring all our own food which was so convenient. They even set up a mini wine tasting table near our picnic tables so we could celebrate and taste during our picnic. Such a beautiful day, AVV made the day so enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Winery was part of the Wine Passport so stopped by but wont be come back again. The service there was not so great — Got the typical judgmental look while tasting wine from one of the people that worked there. the red wine was not good The only good part– free tour of the wine cave which was very interesting. The lady who gave us the tour was very nice and we got to taste the difference between — red wine in American Oak wood barrel vs. French Oak wood barrel wine. Wont be coming back

Alexander Valley Vineyards Winery is great. I found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable. We stopped in for a quick tasting, and all of the samples were delicious. We’d like to come back for a tour of the caves and vineyards.

Great wine and tour. This is one of the oldest vineyards in the valley where it’s always nice to get a little history with the tour. We did their cave tour and we tried a wine from a French barrel and an American barrel to try the difference which everyone should do. I got a little more educated on the difference between the two and if you do, you’ll also not only know the difference but you’ll get to know your palette more. The wines are nice and affordable. They are having a great event there on the 19th of September too with food, grape stomp competition and music. I’m really sure this place knows how to do it too.

We went for the cave tour, but left with 7 bottles of Zinfandel! The place was pretty crowded, but John saw us and directed us to sit outside in a beautiful spot and he would bring serve us outside. What a nice experience we had! We ended up joining the reserve wine club, and just had a great time. The cave tour is fun, the dog is friendly, but John made the visit for us. We will definitely be back and bringing our friends. Nice wines, reasonably priced! Ask for John, but he only works weekends.

The friendly pup that acted as the property’s mascot greeted us as we were walking up to the Tasting Room. The owner greeted us at the door, shooing the dog away, but welcoming us up to the bar to partake. It was a quiet Friday afternoon, so we had the place to ourselves, which was fine but us. The owner gave a bit of a history lesson about the winery and area. The winery, named after Cyrus Alexander, founder of the valley, offered a great selection of wines and were reasonable priced. We had the Sonoma Valley Wine Passport so our tasting was free! We tasted a lot of great, big bold Red and ended up walking out with a Rose to complement our picnic lunch. Great place to visit in the Healsburg area, for sure!

Had a wonderful time here. Jim was extremely friendly and it makes for a great experience! If you get there at the right time you may also tour the caves were the wine is kept. The resident doggies are just as friendly and you’ll be happy you stopped here. We purchased a bottle of Redemption it was a great in the tasting!

Me and my party of 4 really enjoyed this winery. The lady serving us was super nice and we really enjoyed the wines. We ended up leaving with a bottle of Rosay(spelled it wrong but I can’t figure out how to put the apostrophe over the E)…yum!

Holy deliciousness, this place has fantastic cabs! I could not get over how each one was better than the next. I wish I hadn’t been getting hungry and wanting to head out, because I definitely would have taken the cave tour. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because it’s so far off the path of the highway and everything else we were seeing that day. I will for sure be making another trip out there to revisit this winery as well as it’s neighboring vineyards(and taking the cave tour!!)

So, the tasting today at Alexander Valley Vineyards was phenomenal. Denise the Tasting Room manager and Jim treated us with a captivating charm that we rarely see. We had plans that were quickly changed and dashed to the market she recommended. We weren’t disappointed… I’ve never been treated to cheese tasting in a market, let alone a guided tour of the olive bar. People who respect my po’dunk taste win my heart every time. Thank you! This will not be the last time our paths cross:-) Additionally getting to see the horses getting ferried at the winery was especially touching to a friend who stood and pet the horse and enjoyed a calming and private moment that was amazing for him.

Really a must stop if you love great wines and nice people and a great view of the valley. Krysti the hospitality director has been so helpful and we have really enjoyed our stay here and the barrel tastes! The variety of wines with such high quality is amazing, chard, pinot noir, cabs, and even a great Cabernet Franc! very good stuf here! a great experience

The wine wasn’t great, but they have a great tour of the wine barrel process. There’s also a unique wine carriage ride that starts from here. The most well known of wines from here is the Sin Zin.

Free tastings for Visa Signature card holders, but their Reserve Tasting is only $ 10/person, and they refund the fee with a wine purchase(this is getting rarer now). We came in on a Saturday afternoon around 2:30pm without an appointment, and there was a small crowd here, but still plenty of room at the counter to start a tasting. We tried: –2013 Dry Gewürztraminer($ 10/bottle): Very crisp and clean, but was a little on the dry side. However, perfect for a spring or summer day. –2011 «Sin Zin»(The Classic, $$ 20/bottle): This is one of the wines they are known for, but not my favorite since it was very peppery and earthy. –2010 Alluvia($ 40/bottle): Very drinkable. –2010 Reserve Cabernet($ 40/bottle): Their cab was earthy but smooth. –2009 Cyrus, Bordeaux Style Blend($ 55/bottle): I liked the bordeaux style blend more than the cab since it was lighter, but still a bit earthy. –2006 Cyrus, Bordeaux Style Blend($ 60/bottle): This bordeaux blend was more robust than the 2009 and also more intense. I liked some of the wines from here, and would have purchased some bottles if my wine rack had any empty spaces. The people here are super super nice and informative, and I’d highly recommend stopping by for a tasting here if you’re in the area. Parking is easy in their lot.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed this vineyard very much. The cave tour was fun, although a little short(not a problem, just not what I was expecting). It was nice tasting a 2012 cab from the barrel. It was a great wine, and a brilliant bright red. It was also nice learning a little of the history. The wines we tasted were very good and reasonably priced. There was a nice picnic area outside as well. I would definitely recommend stopping here!

Came here because it was part of a getaway package on Travelzoo. Small tasting room and vineyard. I liked the white wine best. Pours aren’t a lot and only a few tasting. Service was just ok.

We toured the Napa & Russian River Valley these past three days & were able to stay in the Schoolhouse on AVV property, which is an actual restored schoolhouse from the 1860’s. Really a very cool experience & the folks at the winery couldn’t have been nicer. Oh, and did I mention the wine are delicious & a value to boot! Highly recommend to stop by & taste the wines & tour their caves!
