Michele led a really great tour of this beautiful vicinity! Our group of 4 did the private wine tour off Groupon and along with the tour, we were able to try about 8 different wines and we ended up buying some bottles because they were so tasty. It also included a meat and cheese platter and a free bottle of their table wine. Michele was very knowledgeable about the history of the vineyard as well as wine history in general. Thank you for a great experience!

We were just visiting from Utah traveling for the weekend and did not have a reservation. Michelle was so kind in accommodating us. Fabulous wine tasting! She introduced us to a delicious late harvest dessert wine. Lovely little vineyard! Definitely worth the drive. :)

Our first stop in Healdsburg! My husband and I pulled off the side of the road and parked in front of the quaint winery where beautiful daisies decorated the landscape. We walked into their cozy tasting room and shared a tasting. We were very impressed with the service and we enjoyed all of their wines. We purchased a bottle to take home with us. Very quaint, down to earth, and reasonable. Would return!

I had a chance to speak with the Marketing Director here after having an unfortunate experience during one visit. He took a lot of time to listen and showed sincere concern over what had happened. It’s unusual to find personal customer care like that these days, and it’s one of the biggest reasons I like visiting smaller, boutique wineries like Field Stone. I will be planning to go back there the next time I’m in Healdsburg.

It is rare that you find a winery and like every single one of their wines, but there was not one I did not like here! On top of the amazing wines, they have beautiful views and the people are awesome! Be sure to visit Fieldstone if you are in the area!

Love them! Wonderful, love the location and the people are genuinely kind and happy to be of assistance. We joined the wine club, and the prices are great! We really enjoyed the wines as well. Everything we tasted was fantastic. A destination for wine tasting in Alexander Valley for sure!

«Oh you can search far and wide, You can drink the whole town dry. You’ll never find a beer so brown But you’ll never find a beer so brown As the one we’re drinking in our town. You can kick your fancy ales. You can drink em by the flagon. But the only brew for the brave and true… Comes from the Green Dragon!» OK, so no beer is served here… but if Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pipkin were to open up a winery, this would be it. The tasting room is built into the wine cellar, which is partly built into a grassy hill… groovy! Friendly staff gave us a warm welcome. I thought the wines were good, though it was winery #6 or #7, so my palate, and memory, might not be 100% accurate. Definitely worth a visit!

It was my first time heading out to wine country and I came to Field Stone Winery with my parents, sister, and her boyfriend on a Friday morning. My sister had purchased a Groupon for the tour + tasting. We were greeted by Michelle, who was a very kind, knowledge, and courteous host! She gave us a great tour of the property as well as the farm. The farm was really cool because not only did they have grapes, but they’d have things like a pomegranate, fig, plum tree, etc. It was definitely a cute and quaint kind of farm… be sure to also check out the teepee tent! The history of the winery is really intriguing so be sure to listen in. Every wine we tried was really good… it was amazing! I say this because we visited another winery later on and we hated every wine we tasted there. It’s great because they also provide snacks to pair with. My personal favorites were the Rose and Petite Sirah. The Field Stone wines are definitely affordable and tasty, I can see myself coming back to bring my friends to this place. Again, thank you Michelle for the great experience that contributed to my first memorable trip to wine country. It kinda blew my mind how knowledgeable you presented yourself when you admitted you’ve only been there for a few months! Field Stone, you are definitely in great hands with Michelle.

Okay wine, rude woman behind counter. Instead of letting me choose my five wines, she decided two of them for me. No room at all at bar for tasting. We asked if we could taste outside and we were told we could if we wanted to keep coming back inside for fill ups. Keep driving– not worth a stop.

My husband and I enjoyed a private tour and tasting with Major. He was so knowledgeable of the winery and the area. He gave us a lot of interesting history and facts about their wine making process. We are not usually into tours, but this was well worth it. All of their wines were delicious especially when paired with their tasty cheese platter. We ended up taking home the Syrah and Petit Syrah.

If you’re looking for a nice winery visit and tasting experience add Field Stone to your list. Whether you’re a local heading out to wine country for a day or weekend visit; or you have relatives visiting and want to show them around, Field Stone is an excellent choice to include on your wine tasting itinerary. Extrememly friendly staff, lovely grounds, tours, excellent picnicing facilities, and — oh yes — a terrific selection of well-priced, quality wines all add up to a very good experience. I personally enjoy their blushes and their Convivio white table wine — just right for picnicing on a summer afternoon in the vineyard.

I got the one hour tour and tasting for a birthday gift. My daughter and two friends accompanied me. One of the best winery experiences I have ever had. Katherine our tour guide and host was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a history of the region as well as a lesson on types of grapes and vines. We even got to pet the resident goat. Every one of their wines are fantastic with the Sangiovese and Rose’ being my personal favorite. Enjoyed it so much I joined their wine club. Looking forward to going back.

Field stone is amazing! We stopped in for a tasting on a girls weekend and loved it. Major led our tasting and he was witty, funny, musical, and very knowledgable. He also walked us through the process of winemaking and shared the great history of the property. Our group happily walked away with a few bottles of the rose(petite Syrah) and the Cabernet(both delightful!) we were lucky to find this family-owned gem and highly recommend it! There are also great picnic tables outside and a beautiful view of the property’s vineyards. Definitely would come back and recommend this to any visitors. Also, the wine club seems like a great way to stay in the loop with the collection – which is only available to wine club members! Thanks Major

The very unassuming exterior of the small stone building housed really great wines! This was, in our opinion, the best of the 3 wineries we visited in the Healdsburg area. Very full bodied reds with rich tannins including their reserve cab. No one else was there when we arrived midday on a Thursday, so we had the place to ourselves, which was nice because the tasting room was not large. The owner poured for us, and my main complaint was how he continued to push their wine club. We didn’t want to join, but he kept mentioning it. Anyways, we did really enjoy the offerings here and would recommend a visit. We also walked around the grounds afterwards — a really nice vineyard. I was even able to pet their goat in the adjoining barn.

I am surprised I have not heard about this excellent winery sooner. Great selection of varietals with prices in the 30s. Josh was very friendly and kind. Check in for a Unilocal coupon. I bought 5 bottles.

FIVESTARS for the Field Stone Winery & Vineyard! I hereby name this winery my personal #1 pick for 2013! Move aside Markham; See Ya Franciscan; Goodbye Madrigal; Adiós Sonoma Cutrer; Sorry to see you leave Château Felice(My #1 pick for the last 4 years); Bye-Bye Albini Winery; Adiós Bennett Lane; Temporarily taking a break from you St. Clement. HELLOOOOOO Field Stone! We visited this winery on recommendation from my aunt(who works at one of the wineries above). She takes several of her out of town guests to this winery because they always produce a solid product! They did not disappoint! Can you imagine that they have grapes that were planted in 1894? Can you imagine how robust and delicious the wines are?! 2011 «Staten Family Reserve» Viognier($ 25/btl). A Rhone white wine, tending to be flowery and sweet. Nice refreshing taste with a clean mouth. Grade: B 2011 Vineyard Select Chardonnay«Hopkins River Ranch»($ 25/btl). A nice compromise between the old style Sonoma Chardonnays which were fruity, sweet and crisp — with a more modern clean tasting Chardonnay. Grade: B+/A– 2012 Vineyard Select Rose of Petit Sirah«Heritage Block»($ 20/btl). This was surprise #1 of the day. I don’t normally like Rose wines, but this rose of Petit Sirah was pretty delicious. Nice balances and flavors, and tastes good with a picnic on a hot summer day. Grade: B+ 2008 Vineyard Select Merlot«Andre’s Block»($ 25/btl). Tasted like your typical merlot, very fruity and soft tasting. Cherry undertones. I was hoping to like this wine a bit more, as they had huge discounts ranging from 10% — 50% off of your purchases, depending on quantity purchases. Grade: B. 2011 Vineyard Select Syrah«Marion’s Block»($ 25/btl). I’m particularly a fan of Syrahs from the Alexander Valley /Chalk Hill region. This Syrah was nice bodied and full. The flavors were sharp(which I like) and generous with cherry overtones. Grade: A– 2009 Vineyard Select Cabernet Sauvignon«Wally’s Block»($ 30/btl). KAPOW! This wine had so much flavor and depth, it was like a flavor punch to the mouth! WOW! Tons of dry fruit flavors with a dark cherry body. Amazing! Grade: A 2008 «Staten Family Reserve» Cabernet Sauvignon($ 40/btl). Another delicious Cab from this winery. Again, very full of flavors, but I found this a bit more mellow than the Wally’s Block. Absolutely delicious! Grade: B+ 2009 Staten Family Reserve Petite Sirah($ 35/btl). BADABINGBADABOOMFOSHIZZLE!!! This wine was the WINNER of the tasting! I loved loved loved this wine. Again, tons of dry fruit flavors and spice, with dark and heavy overtones to the back of the tongue. This drink was what converted me to be a fan of this winery! Grade: A+ 2009 «Staten Family Reserve» Petite Sirah Vintage Port($ 50/btl). This port had a HUGE body with sweet cherry and dried fruit flavors. They served this port with a piece of dark chocolate. Both worked AMAZINGLY well together and it put an instant smile on my face! Grade: A+ I also got a bottle of their Chocolate Port Sauce($ 18.95) to drizzle over ice cream or to make milk shakes. If it tastes anything like the wines or port that I tasted, I’m in for a GOOD treat! Special kudos go out to tasting room manager & Director of Sales and Marketing — Jason R. He and his staff, Matthew and Josh, did an AMAZING job with explaining the wines and highlighting the features of their products. They even offered to give us a special walking-tour of their vineyards. This place was very busy as there were many groups of people who visited the winery. First class service and professionalism throughout our visit. We walked away with 2 cases of these delicious wines! We had a 1+hr picnic on the grounds. We took a brief tour of the vineyards and took photos with the vines planted in 1894. What else could we have asked for?! AMAZING! I was so happy when I left this winery, I could have kissed my grandma! Special note: This winery has several picnic tables, which make for a super fun visit! Bring your own food, buy a bottle or two(or three or four) of wine to enjoy at the winery with your family and friends. Let the kiddos go visit the very friendly horse, goat, and chickens that they have on site. Wine Grade: A! Service Grade: A+(Very professional, knowledgeable, and enjoyable). Worth the Money Grade: A! Overall Impression: A
