This review isn’t about the wine or the lovely grounds at Matrix. It is only about the small print regarding the wine club membership. We visited the winery last summer and enjoyed what we tasted, bought a couple of bottles and joined the wine club on a whim. The membership immediately saved us a percentage on the couple of bottles we bought and we’ve received two shipments since. Realizing that it is unlikely we’ll be back that way and that shipping is costly, I asked to cancel our membership only to be told that I am under contract to continue for a year. I must buy two more shipments. I’ve never run into that before in the many other wine clubs I’ve joined and terminated so I was surprised and wanted to warn other impulsive wine club joiners to read the fine print before joining this club.

This place has it going on, big time. Great wine tasting experience. Outstanding customer service, and such a surprise to find a pinot house in dry creek valley. Their pinots and zins are remarkable. Tasting fee is currently a very reasonable five dollars, waived per bottle purchased. They are part of the Wilson family winery group, if you are a wine club member of one of their wineries, you are a family member at all of their wineries! Beautiful grounds, great wine, great customer service. Check them out!

I stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon with my sister and her best friend and they were amazing to us! Keri was pouring the wine and she took great care of us from the moment we walked in! She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and make sure we were having a good time. The Pinot Noir’s were phenomenal and we can’t wait to come back soon.

Great pinots. Huge outdoor space. Fun people. Dog friendly! We went during the annual Barrel Tasting weekend and even though it was really busy and we didn’t have tickets, they welcomed us for a tasting for the regular fee(don’t remember what it was, but I do remember it was surprisingly low.) The Buoncristiani Reserve was my favorite out of them all. There are a lot of fabulous wineries in Sonoma, but I would definitely come back to this one.

I am not a big Pinot fan but my wife is. Stopped at Matrix and I tried several of the pinots and they were actually pretty good. My wife loved them. The Petite and Zin were great. Very nice and friendly staff. Great little winery.

Wow. If you are pinot noir fan, this is the place for you. They have a variety of amazing pinots that are all different but delicious. They also have some great zinfandels. The property is beautiful. You can sit outside and look over a flowing reservoir. Really relaxing atmosphere. If you go, John and Amy are great hosts. They made our experience enjoyable, fun and educational.

I like Matrix. I usually go in on arm band weekends. They have a nice range of pinots, which is the main thing I drink.

Good wine, nice staff, and a great view. I love the smaller tasting rooms and this has to be one of my favorites. We will definitely keep going back.

Another Pinot gem in Sonoma County. Matrix is always consistent with the quality of wine they make, the tasting room staff is accommodating, friendly, and they have a perfectly quaint outdoor setting to relax. Enjoy a picnic and taste some great wine!

Came in on Labor Day and had a great tasting. We decided to sit inside since it was so hot out, but their patio was beautiful. A woman brought her little dog into the tasting room, which I loved! I hope to come back with my dog in the future. We were told about an upcoming event they have called Pups and Pinot — how cute is that? Debby poured our wines and she did such a fantastic job. She is so knowledge of each wine and you can tell how much she loves her job. We all enjoyed their rose, chard, pinots, petite sirah, and zinfandel. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely go back.

This was one of my favorite wineries in Healdsburg. One of our friends is a member here so we needed to stop by to pick up her shipment. When we arrived they had a jazz trio outside on the patio playing live music, the service was amazing. They treated us like we were family. We were outside trying to keep hydrated and drinking lots of water with our wine and one of the ladies kept coming to refill the wine glasses. After a few of us declined, we told her we were at the end of a very long day of wine tasting and needed more water, she came back with a plate of crackers, cheeses, and fruit to balance out the effects of the wine. The wine was good(I only tried the whites) but I added a star for the crazy logo with the woman with the arrow through her chest. How romantic is that?

Matrix Winery has good wine and friendly people pouring. It was our first visit here. This is another of the Wilson wine group, where it’s hard to find a bad wine. At Matrix, the Pinots were especially good, with several to choose from. We bought a case of Pinot that was half price for club members. Now that’s a good reason to belong to a wine club!

Really did not particularly like any of the wines here, and the staff also were not entirely knowledgeable. The one redeeming factor was that my friend was a member here and gets free tastings. Also, their outdoor patio area overlooks an amazing view of the Russian River Valley. Other than that, very unimpressed by the wine selection.

This was another spot we stopped at on barrel tasting weekend, but since we weren’t participating I did feel a little left out. The staff was still super friendly and accommodated us just like they would on a normal, not crazy day. This would be the perfect stop for a midday picnic, the view is really spectacular here.

Great wines, friendly staff and great location. I love small, boutique wineries that really get how to make a great tasting wine. I will admit that I’m a bit of wine snob so not any wine will do, this place has great wines that range from $ 30 – 50. If you like reds and like pinot then this is a great winery to visit.

Dog Friendly. This winery is very relaxed and offers generously priced tastings. We came with a dog and the employees had no issue. There was another dog there too. I guess if your dog isn’t high maintenance and looking to fight, this would be a great place to take them. The wine was pretty good, but the Sauvignon Blanc was pretty amazing. The staff was really nice and relaxed. The view was pretty awesome too. Don’t half step. You’ll get a ton of Pinot Noir here so be ready.

What a wonderful little winery! The woman who poured wines for us was really engaging and kind, and the tasting room was bright and inviting. The mood was just light and warm – between the pourers and other tasters, we learned not only about their wines, but also about wine events throughout the year, easy Thanksgiving recipes, even the dog adoption process. The wines are what I would call«quintessential» to the region, and it sounds like the vineyard owners are proud and passionate and want to put forth great product. The funniest(and most fun) part of our visit was when we had tasted several wines and were very excited about the generous pours, and we thought we were finished, but then we went on to page two, and then page three! I’m so glad it was our first winery and mid-afternoon at that. I particularly loved their Chardonnay and Zins. There is definitely a push for the club, but it was far from aggressive. Matrix is relatively young, so I’ll be watching what they do over time!

Matrix is a friendly little winery with a great tasting room(an outdoor patio has killer views). I wasn’t a big fan of any of the wines, but the hospitality was great and I enjoyed the atmosphere.

A delightful lady was the hostess. We had a wonderful chat with her on a slow Tuesday afternoon. Got to exchange stories of her life in France. Tasted all the wines they were pouring. Didn’t buy any.
