Tasted at Simi with a group of 7 and had a wonderful time. Ate out on the patio where Philip did an amazing time bringing us a variety of the Simi wines. The oak chard and both of the pinots were delicious. Would absolutely recommend.

Our experience was awesome! We got a tour from Phil. He was incredibly knowledgable and friendly. We got to taste a lot of different wines and ended up getting a free glass because they were out of what we wanted. Cheers to Phil!

So showed up with a party of 22 people. One of our people is hard of hearing and one is going through Chemo treatment. The rest of us are normal, wine loving(and buying) folk. They refused service to the two people referenced above. Unbelievable. When we explained the situation they said we should have warned them ahead of time. Are you kidding me? See the lady wearing the hat with little hair who has cancer… please serve her??? Kiss my butt. We were at Pride and Merryvale the day before and spent over $ 250 per couple on wine. Goodluck Simi – your wine is not that great!

Wonderful zinfandel and a Chardonnay that I will definitely be serving at my next dinner party. This is a definitely do not miss, they have a wonderful wine selection and I could spend a whole day in their gift shop, and just walking around their beautiful grounds. I’m a tree lover, and this winery is surrounded by gorgeous redwoods. They have a fireplace in the tasting room and a great selection of cheeses, charcuterie and sweets to go with their wines. Perfect stop!

Thank you Jan for a friendly and welcoming experience. The tasting was delicious, and I agree the best was the Cab reserve.

I’m a fan because of the service and the fact that this winery is located in a quaint old train station. It’s adorable actually. I am not a fan of the wine but maybe it is just me. Still a great place though and their port and cork trees are really cool. The tour is really nice.

My wife and I really enjoyed a great tasting at this winery. Many wonderful whites and reds to try. Be sure to taste the Landslide. Phil was very knowledgeable and great to work with on the tasting. Wine club offers a nice variety of options from multiple wineries. Highly recommend spending time here. Ask for Phil!

I really wanted to like this place, but it unfortunately did not meet my expectations. I had purchased their Cab Sauv at the store before and enopjoyed it, but after having five tastes of their«exclusive wines,» I wish I had just stuck with that. I had two whites, a rose, and two reds. None stuck out to me as exciting, and I found myself just ready for the tasting to be over so we could head out to join our friends. My friend bought a bottle and after being rung up commented«how great it is that tasting fees are comped when bottles are purchased,» the tasting attendant said«oh, no, we charged you $ 10 for that.» Not a huge deal, but considering the majority of tasting rooms come the fee, we thought she should have mentioned that first. Nothing terrible here, but won’t be returning

I enjoyed tasting the wines at Simi Winery. I even purchased a few bottles, and then to my dismay, I learned that they didn’t waive the cost of the tasting. I called to verify that this is their policy, and unfortunately it is. I don’t get it. Many wineries waive the cost of the tasting if you purchase some wine. This is not the way a winery should stand-out against their competition! There are so many other wineries with better policies, facilities, and products. I’d say pass on Simi Winery, and I do not recommend it.

The winery is right outside of the downtown area of Healdsburg. They have a nice little shop in the tasting room with local items. The wines were delicious and everyone working there was really nice. They are holding a lobster boil with zydeco music in the fall. We’ll be back for that! The facility is very relaxing with large trees everywhere.

Simi Winery holds the dubious distinction of being the only place I’ve ever stopped midway through a tasting to tell the winery worker«please don’t take this as disrespect but I don’t like the taste of your red wines». Each sip provoked in me a pucker, a squinty eye, and a raised eyebrow: my beautiful«sour face» look. Continual references were made to the über-dryness of these reds but the server pointed to intense oakiness as the likely cause of my distaste. He pointed me to a 2012 next and I found it far better than the 2011, though still very dry and still very oaky. Simi, I’d conclude, is not the wine for me. Simi Winery is the oldest of the Alexander Valley wineries and the only winery I’ve ever visited which touts their kegged wines and growlers. The tasting room sits in what’s basically a very well-stocked gift shop with a pleasant, tree-shaded, adjoining outdoor patio. The whole place feels a bit artless and pedestrian, the opposite of almost anyplace you might find in Napa but it’s clean and the patio is a nice place to relax for a bit.(In general, Alexander Valley wineries are not the fantasy chateaus of their Napa Valley brethren). On «Taste Alexander Valley» weekend Simi Winery is popular, owing to its mid-point location amongst participating wineries. I didn’t find much to get excited about here but being a little wine-high and finding a perfect present for myself in the gift shop prevented it from being a total bomb. If you like your red wine bone dry and cannot get enough oak you’ll like Simi wines. If you’re not looking for«fancy», want to pickup some unique gifts, or just relax on an outdoor patio you might also enjoy a stop at Simi Winery.

Went there yesterday and the staff was so rude to us. They poured the wine told us the name and walked away. Though the grounds are beautiful and the wines were very good, I won’t be going back there any time soon. I am very disappointed with their lack of service.

Our second stop in our Sonoma Valley wine tasting visit was to Simi. The wine tasting room is located in a rustic setting with many trees on the property. The tasting area is on one side of the room while the other side has gifts and food items. The tasting menu is 5 core wines for $ 10 and 5 core and Winemakers selections for $ 15. Simi is part of the Visa Signature program and the offer provides 2 wines choices from the core section. A bonus pour of a Cabernet was also provided. Our pourer was friendly and provided insights on Simi’s wines. If you like dessert wines, they have a delicious late harvest Chardonnay and late harvest Riesling. Overall, a nice wine tasting experience at Simi.

Awesome winery! I don’t like it when the winery has the employees give a hard sell when im tasteing wine… Simi gets it right… they pour and let you decide what you like. Truely delicious varieties that you can only get at the winery… highly recommend

Stopped in on a rainy morning — my friend and I were the only customers for a while and we recieved the BEST service from Phil — — he gave us great tastings and was extremely wine-knowlegeable as well as personable. Also, their shop is great — — quite a few hard to resist items. Oh yeah, the wine… yes it was very good. Get the higher-end tasting — their good Cabs are very very nice and you get to compare them along with the signature Landslide Cab. All great stuff. It’s handy to get to — right on the road with lot of parking.

I had the pleasure of having Phil pouring for us in the tasting room then he gave a tour of the winery. He was so knowledgable and made it such a fun experience! The winery itself is beautiful but having great people that make it memorable is why I singed up for the wine club! I plan on coming up for all their fun events planned !!! Of coarse their wines were amazing! Didn’t try one I didn’t like !

This is a review of my experience, or lack there of at Simi’s tasting room. I have always enjoyed their wine, so when my wife’s family from Japan visited, I decided to make the drive from Oakland and make Simi our first stop. Walked in, place was empty as it was a Monday morning, the lady behind the counter looked up from her paperwork, didn’t say«welcome», «hello» or even a grunt. We stood there for a few minutes, then perused their coasters and nick nacks for sale. went back to the counter. still couldn’t stir her back to the land of the living so finally just left.
