Stark Wine Company

BEST. PLACE. EVER.
I came to the Stark Wine Company using a Groupon. I was hesitant since I was able to purchase wine tasting and cheese pairings for two people for only $ 15, but boy was I amazed! This was my first wine tasting experience and I couldn’t be more pleased.
The lady that helped us (I think her name is LariAnne? Sorry ahead of time for butchering your name! I will just call her Wonder Woman). She explained each bottle of wine to us, the cheese that was paired with it, and her own personal opinion of it. She also asked our opinions of each pairing; she seemed genuinely interested, which was very nice. She brought her dog, Shea, which is the sweetest lab. Shea sat with us the entire time outside and loved all the pets and cuddles, making the experience that much greater!
We were given as much time as we needed. I think we ended up spending a little over an hour there and each minute was entirely enjoyable. We started with a Rose as a palette cleanser, sampled two white wines and four reds. The first four wines were paired with cheeses, the fifth with almonds, and the last was tasted alone. We ended up purchasing two bottles of red wines — we had to refrain from buying them all!
I would definitely come back here the next time I am in the area! If you are around, check out this winery — that’s an order! (;

We had a terrific tasting with Ethan, who was both knowledgeable and very entertaining! One of the rare wineries where I liked just about everything they poured for us. The official tasting is $ 10 for 5 pours (with the $ 10 being credited to any purchase), but Ethan let us try 8 different wines, with a re-​pour or two at the end.
We ended up buying a bottle each of the Grenache Blanc and the Primitivo, and were able to use our friends’ just-​purchased wine club membership for 20% off. We’ll certainly add Stark to our must-​visit list when we’re in Healdsburg.

Jen who co-​owns this place was very pleasant and real with my friends and I. I don’t know much about wine but realized, upon hopping over to other tasting rooms, that the wines featured at Stark were so full of character. I was impressed with the varying tastes and especially liked one particular wine, which was dry and woody, a beautiful and mature compilation (called Cuvee Ivy).

We really enjoyed this little new wine tasting room. Darling Lindsay was our server and she was great. We enjoyed all their wines but particularly liked their Chardonnay — which is nearly sold out so we had to get some! We will be back!

I was pleasantly surprised by Stark, and even more surprised that Christian Stark, the owner, was the one pouring for us! What I liked about Stark was he poured us very different wines from the others tasting rooms in the area. Sure he’s got the usual suspect but had some delicious eclectic varieties as well. We were fortunate to be the only ones tasting at the time so we got a great one on one with Christian. Great experience and left with two great bottles. My only disappointment was going to toad hallow before this and desecrating my pallet with their swill before Stark. Four Stars for good wine and great service!

This is one of my favorite wineries in Healdsburg featuring some truly excellent smaller production wines. The tasting room is a nice mix of modern and rustic furnishings.
The staff are excellent and create a warm and enjoyable experience. Customer service is second to none, I have received several personal calls reminding me about upcoming events, something I have not experienced with any other area wineries.
If you’re spending a day in Healdsburg, I highly recommend stopping by.

Great dry red wines! We had a great experience. The Primitivo is excellent. The wine tasting room is very nice, we enjoyed our time there. We just happened to stumble upon this place, we’re so glad we stopped here! The seating area outside was inviting also!

A great experience. Wonderful wine and patio for tasting. Great customer service. The gal that does the tasting sat with us for quite a while and gave us great suggestions on places to eat and visit while in healdsburg. She even went so far as to highlight an area map of wineries to visit! Will definitely be back!
