Great reviews and I wanted to check it out. It’s a bit pricey for what you get, but it’s the wine country so it’s to be expected. I will come back for sure, too many options I still want to try. I went for the spicy one wich was good but no sign of the chopped apricots in it which would have added a level to the flavor profile. Great selection of beverages and options for everyone on the menu.

My husband and I were visiting from NYC and about to go back to our hotel to leave when I spotted the«WURST» sign down the block. I am a huuuuuge hotdog fan so we stopped for a bite as soon as they opened(11am). They have so, so many different kinds of burgers, dogs, sausages, and ice cream. We were in a rush because of checkout at the hotel so my husband had a Bag Dog and I had a Chicago Dog. These were a good size, had a snappy case, good flavor and amazing toppings. I would definitely pop in here again if I were back in town!

Charles makes a great deal of effort to provide delicious Americana food like burgers, hot dogs, sausages, fries, and salads, for reasonable prices. I especially love the high quality meat, the hot dog buns and the fact that they cook the hamburgers in olive oil. I also love the new frozen custard. Some special things that make The Wurst stand out: the staff, free ice cream for kids, and the art that graces the place(down to the poetry in the bathroom). I admire the owner’s philosophy about life and it is reflected in his business operations. If you want a great burger, sweet potato fries and a a glass of icy coca cola, run don’t walk to The Wurst, just across the street from Hotel Healdsburg, by the downtown plaza.

Bought a burger from them at their tent in Petaluma for the antique fair. Paid with my card 8 $ and signed for 8 $. Checked my bank statement and saw a 10 $ dollar charge. Thanks again!

I had the spicy sausage with the cheese and bbq sauce. The owner and staff are amazing. Very helpful. The fries were ok, the main thing was that the bread was a little tough and the bbq sauce did nothing for the meal. Also the cheddar cheese would have been better if it was melted. Will definitely go back though, give it another try with out the cheese or bbq sauce. I think it’s got potential.

We love going to the Wurst with our family. Food comes out fast and it’s affordable and good most importantly. It’s casual and fun to sit outside. We like the cowboy burger, Turkey burger, smash burger, and lately we get hot dogs. Half order of sweet potatoe fries with ranch. Oh yeah. One more thing, the pineapple vanilla custard is really good. The salad with apples is good too. One small area I would recommend improving would be consistency of the sweet potatoes fries. Still good though and we will keep coming back. Plus the owner is friendly which is cool.

We were in the area and needed a place to eat that wasn’t crazy-fancy or crazy-expensive, but was yummy. This had decent reviews on Unilocal, and did not disappoint. I like the concept, and the prices were right. Cute place to sit and enjoy a nice casual meal. Outdoor seating. We got here at a late-lunch time, and the place was quiet. Food came out quickly, was fresh, and the sausages are innovative. I love all the condiments, too! My favorite part was that if you are trying to be healthy(but still have sausage), they give you the option of putting it on a salad. Which was great! Yes, you order at the counter, but they bring you your food. It’s just how some restaurants are. It’s not a big deal. I didn’t find it that traumatic. They have lots of beers available, because what good is a sausage if you can’t wash it down with an ice cold beer?

Service? What service? People were standing around, you have to order from the walk up counter, then they bring your food to you. You have to bus your own table. They had no customer service ability. Why did I add a tip? $ 9.00 for the smash burger which was a burger sauce pickles and bun. I think grilled onions too. No lettuce, tomatoes. It tasted good but there was nothing else. You have to pay for fries or rings separately. I would say a little pricey for what you actually get. Not impressed. Salad was good though. Ice cream from case– fair. Soft serve sample was good. Will I return? I don’t think so. Better restaurants in the area with much better service. Especially for burgers and hot dogs.

Not exactly what I was expecting from a restaurant in Healdsburg. Let me start by saying that the menu was very diverse and had many well thought out items. When we ordered our meal I was a little shocked by a $ 46 price tag for two people(and a burger patty for our kid) however I was hoping it would be justified by large portions. Too bad the burgers were on the small side, although they were quite tasty. What we found to be mildly off putting was that booster seats were not tall enough to for the tables, leaving our daughter looking at the underside of the table. Lol. All in all I would definitely stop in to grab a quick bite, however I would leave the family behind.

Fiancé’s cowboy burger was absolutely delicious. LOVETHEVIBEANDOUTDOORSEATING. Polish sausage, French one, was delicious. I love the variety of relishes! They’re unique and unlike anything I’ve ever had(this is coming from someone that hates pickles & relish)

Visiting here, this was our first stop for food. I’d say the food was pretty good but nothing spectacular. We ordered a few of the signature sausages that came with a few trimmings of your choice. Not much to say about sausages on buns — it’s pretty much what you expect. Nothing amazing, but it was not disappointing. Pros: –Food tastes fresh –Lots of sauces to choose –Nice outdoor seating Cons: –High price –Nothing amazing about the food, although it was competent and tasty I’m not dying to go back, but a decent and tasty experience. 3.7 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed the beer selection. all local, and all top notch. food was excellent. I had a burger, and my gf had a dog. If i lived locally i would have fun trying the various options. I always make a point to try a cowboy burger when i visit a place like this for the first time. They top theirs off with a great thick sliced onion ring, and a tangy bbq sauce. ill be back next time im in healdsburg

Ya know… this was a yummy lunch. We had stopped in town to grab a bite to eat to wrap up a weekend roadtrip. Unfortunately, everyone else had planned to visit Healdsburg this Sunday afternoon as well(it was Valentines day). I had planned to show my boyfriend a spot I had visited years before. Of course they were PACKED and booked for the entire day. As we navigated through the crowds back to our car, I realized everywhere was going to be booked. As we were driving back to the freeway, I stumbled upon The Wurst on Unilocal.I figured we should drive by and see if they were slammed or if we could at least grab something to eat in the car. We pulled up just in time to score a spot right in front of the door. While all the tables were full, we were able to walk in and order at the counter after a short wait. We did have to wait quite some time for our food, but again it was over crowded. We ordered the Cowboy Burger, the Blackened BBQ Burger, and an order of garlic parmesan fries to share. The burgers were no where near the medium rare we ordered them both at, but luckily they were juicy enough that the burger didn’t suffer. The fries were great. They were out of the first two dipping sauces we tried to order. We didn’t get any ice cream but sat at the counter in front of the shake making area, and they looked AMAZING. I would definitely try them again if in the area and wanting a casual meal.

The food is incredible. The service is slow. It took almost an hour to get our meal and another 30 minutes to get scoops of ice cream! Unreal. They only had 1 cook working. Not sure how that flies…

Dig the concept Dig the owner Dig the food Saunter up to the menu board and pick a sausage. I went with the Chicken sausage and the man of the house did the Green Bay brat. Both delicious. Both delectably Midwest. Sit outside on the patio and sip a beer while waiting for your food. Great fries. Just go.

We live in town and LOVE the Wurst. Dogs, sausages and burgers are all amazing. The wait can be a little long, and there are times where it may appear the staff doesn’t know what they are doing, but once you bite in to your meal, you’ll know they do. Sausages are sourced from their«native» locales so they are VERY authentic. No short your self on sauces for your fries and rings. Have never had a bad thing here, and we’ve tried nearly the whole menu!

The place to go when looking for a casual, economical place to eat while visiting Healdsburg. Sausages are what they are known for and they have a list full of interesting options whether you are looking for a pork or chicken sausage. Both sausages I have tried tasted fresh and had great flavor. I agree with other posters, the sweet potato fries are damn good, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and the ranch dip sauce has some herbs that freshen it up. The interior is a series of bar-height community tables with stools so it’s good if you have a few friends along with you for a visit. Worth checking out!

LOVEIT!!! Especially loved the Fries! Lotsa cool mustards and other burger /dog condiments to choose from, as well! We also loved the turkey burger and BratWurst! The fries, tho, were the best I’ve had in the Bay Area in a long time! I’ll be back, even if just for THOSE!!!

Food is not good, but the place is well decorative and inviting. There are so many places to eat around this place, so I recommend you stick to trying another place. Parking is horrible and the customer service is a little below average. I definitely will continue to try places around the beautiful town square but I have no intention of going back to this place. This is an over priced hotdogs stand in a very nice area.

With so many frilly and pretentious eateries in Wine Country it’s a relief to find one that does simple comfort food well, in a casual environment. The menu is basically sausages, burgers, fries, and shakes. But lots of variety in each type. Don’t forget to try one or two of the half-dozen each mustards and relishes! I enjoyed a well made burger, fries, and drink on the patio dining area.

I’ve been to Healdsburg twice in my life. I walked the town square both times and this place caught my eye both times. Last time I wasn’t able to get in for dinner but this time I was and definitely regret not going the first time. I ordered the chicken apple sausage with caramelized onions, hot peppers, and sauerkraut. I threw on some of the sweet relish because I’m crazy like that. We had some of the sweet potato fries and my coworker also let me try some of his alcoholic root beer. The biggest surprise was the root beer. I definitely did taste some of the alcohol but not enough to overpower the root beer. The chicken sausage with apple was savory and sweet. The toppings simply complemented the sausage well. Definitely wish I got to eat here more.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of eating here after wine tasting. I had the Southwest Turkey Burger: Ground turkey, pepper jack cheese, sweet & hot peppers, avocado, chipotle aioli with no onions and sweet potato fries. That burger was so juicy and fresh I demolished it in about 3 bites. I was meaning to take a picture, but the savory smells were calling my name. I was amazed the burger actually has fresh slices of avocado on it and the chipotle aioli was just perfect. They have a lot of space for seating inside and outside. Outside yesterday was 104 degrees so we took a spot inside. I would like to comeback again and try a sausage when I’m not so hungry.

Watch out Healdsburg, The Wurst is a serious contender for best burger! Amazing atmosphere and delicious food mean we will be coming back for more. They have vegetarian options and super yummy frozen custard, as well as a huge selection of bottled sodas and drinks. Do yourself a favor and go here. Don’t miss their tarragon ranch, it is bliss.

Came in for dinner and noticed the online menu is different than the menu at the restaurant. We tried calling before we came and the lady on the phone was extremely rude and not very educated on the menu and ingredients used. I tired the chicken apple sausage and it was ok, My BAE tried the falafel burger and she said it was good. The garlic fries were very good and the atmosphere was fun and hip. I personally wouldn’t want to come back but if I was with a group of friends and we ended up here I wouldn’t mind. For what it’s worth… When I pass by on my bike during the afternoons on the weekends this place is packed.

With all the beautiful and romantic restaurants up in Healdsburg you wouldn’t think to stop here for dinner… or would you? Well, Unilocalers know what’s up! The Wurst is five star dining on a one star budget. Just my style! Kevin P. and I came here after a long Saturday exploring the sights of beautiful Healdsburg and nearby Santa Rosa. It was too late to make any reservations, and quite frankly, we just weren’t in the mood to get all gussied up. My previous Unilocal research had The Wurst bookmarked and we made the easy decisions of checking out this highly rated eatery. Downtown Healdsburg was just beautiful at night. We parked a distance away in the free public parking and walked along the creek-side to The Wurst. Twinkling lights and the bubbling creek made the stroll oh-so-romantic. You can’t miss the The Wurst. It’s a totally happening spot. Tons of lights, outdoor warmers, and fun people. The outdoor seating is large and plentiful. Great for a nice warm day. We opted to dine indoors. We walked up to the counter to order and were immediately greeted by a cheery employee. She patiently took our order of the Chicken Habanero and Sheboygan Brat, and an order of sweet potato fries and regular fries. With their great selection of meats and accouterments, you’ll find yourself a midst a million different combinations. The sausages were terrific. Juicy and full of flavor. The casing had the perfect amount of «pop». Really, there’s no need for a huge amount of sauces and toppings since the meats are so great on their own. But they do have plenty of those. I loved their awesome sauce bar. There’s pretty much every kind of mustard that goes well with a Brat. But then again, mustard goes well with just about everything. Forget the posh fine dining experience and try The Wurst. Your tummy and wallet will both be pleased.
