Unfortunate situation a month ago when I called to make a reservation over the phone and after they asked how I heard about them I said I worked at a winery and was told no industry discount would be applied which I was totally fine with but was then told she needed to check with her boss so she wouldn’t get in trouble for booking me, then I could only come at a specific day and time if I wanted a tasting because I was industry. I may be in the industry but I’m also a wine buyer and they will never receive my business or any one I know. I appreciate elite properties but not judgmental staff! Your owned by Kendal jackson stop acting like screaming eagle.

I usually don’t review wineries, but my experience at Verite was so extraordinary. The winery is a little hard to find(all the best things in life are), but it’s worth the drive. Luckily it’s by appt only, which gives you the advantage of a completely private tasting in the beautiful tasting room at the most gorgeous dining table. I walked in and my tasting glasses and«accoutrements» were already beautiful set at the table. The wines were absolutely amazing, the staff were so friendly, and the vineyards outside are stunning. I’m desperate to come back!

Magnificent wines, ranging from a more«old world» style back in the late 1990s — the 1998 Le Desir was singing — to a more fully bodied new world style in the last decade. The 2002 La Muse was terrific, and still a baby. The more recent vintages are not at their prime yet, and will need some long term cellaring. The wines and the tasting are five-star all the way. The winery is not on the main drag, and(thankfully) there are no crowds at the tasting bar here. The tasting setting is wonderful, and private(reservations required). This visit will be totally focused on you — and their three(3) wines. The education you will get about terroir(including the wall of soil samples and map explaining it all) is amazing. Allow plenty of time to get here, for the tasting itself and more for relaxing — figure two(2) hours here. Be sure to have eaten ahead of time. Finish your glass out on the veranda overlooking the vineyards. Beautiful spot. Unfortunately, big scores in 2007 from RP changed the pricing landscape for Verite. It now requires big bucks to take some home with you.

The service here is above and beyond great. The staff are wonderful with the best views at this winery. Plus the wine is truly the best you will find!

wow! where do I start? LeeAnn was very knowlegeable & very resourceful. She had completed the Advanced level of Court of Sommelier. Additionally, she has got a great way of conveying how the wine evolves in you mouth. There was a lot of geek talk about terror & dirt, if you’re into it. I really appreciate how LeeAnn brought it down to the level where everyone can can appreciate the wines & the craftsmanship. Truly the highlight of my trip!

They offer private tasting at their Alexander Valley Estate in Healdsburg by appointment only(call tasting room or make an appointment request online). The tasting takes approximately two hours & the tasting fee is $ 25 per person, which is refunded with a purchase. It’s going on my winery to-do list! :)

Amazing red bordeaux type wines. Verite label is top notch, and expensive. Like $ 150/bottle. Their other label is Archipel, which is made out of the locally grown grapes. Nice tasting, but not spectacular. So, certainly have fine wines, but the Verite label is overpriced IMHO. Anytime Robert Parker gives a wine a 98, it will sell high. Marketing at its best. Staff is very friendly and extremely knowledgable. I actually talked her into letting me taste the 98 pt. wine. Well, it was good, but to be honest, not that spectacular. Of course, I am not a Bordeaux specialist or expert. Take the Chalk Hill Road from Hwy 101 for a great drive to the winery. Then follow 128 over the Russian river to Healdsburg. Scenic and in the heart of east Sonoma county.

Simply amazing wines by French Vigneron Pierre Seillan. Only a thousand or so cases made. Robert Parker loves this stuff. The winery itself is in a country setting on Chalk Hill Road. Call Giovanni Cerrone, the tasting room manager, ahead to set up an appointment. 707−433−9000 extension 10. Or visit their website .
