Wonderful experience trail riding. Beautiful scenery, great horses. I have also had a great experience leasing a horse from KB Horses.

Awesome experience trail riding with my two teenagers. Brenda, the owner, couldn’t have been nicer. The staff is very professional — they will create the ride according to your level of expertise. Shannon, our guide, was very knowledgeable. It was one of the highlights of our Utah vacation. I highly recommend this ranch! Then go to Dairy Keen for ice cream!

Top Notch riding experience. Alex, our cowboy wrangler, did a great job of learning our skill levels as well as our wishes. He was also fun to be with — sang cowboy songs for us and his ‘story’ was an engaging tale. He’s really done a lot in his young life, a remarkable young man. Our horses, Cognac and Majic, were great choices for us. We rode up the rocky slopes, down through some washes and through areas of trees, sagebrush and prickly pear cactus above developing land and a golf course all the while surrounded by majestic snow capped mountains. Really nice views. We’ll be a bit saddle sore tomorrow, I’m sure. All of my interactions with the owner, Brenda, were pleasant, professional and helpful. I can understand how riders who don’t use good sense or don’t follow instructions might endanger themselves, others and/or the horse stock. In such instances, the owners and wranglers must ensure safety for all at the cost of egos. We will definitely use KB Stables as our choice for our equestrian outings.

I sent feedback to the owner because I didn’t want to leave negative reviews. Since she never replied, I assume she doesn’t care, so I’m warning the world that I wouldn’t even give KB1 star. Here is my experience: No one had fun. My 4 kids were afraid to speak or do anything that might get them yelled at. When my oldest were 6 and 8, we rode horses in Logan. They beamed for weeks after that experience and it lifted their confidence; they felt like they could conquer the world. Contrast that with our experience at KB: as we were driving away, our youngest(11) started to cry. He was embarrassed and felt incompetent. He was ponied(which meant he sat on a horse but was pulled with a lead rope) for the entire duration. Brenda charges extra for this which we only found out about AFTER her no-cancelation period. Her justification was that my youngest couldn’t keep the horse from eating on the trail(though she hardly gave him a chance!) Training her horses should not be a guest’s responsibility. I paid $ 100 for my son to ride a horse(and the pony fee is added to that!). For the experience he got, I could have put him on a $ 10 carnival animal. At one point my son’s horse and Brenda’s(who was leading him) got tied up. She threw the reins at my son and yelled at him. My husband and I both wanted to tell her not to talk to our son the way she did. Brenda continued to yell at him and make impossible demands that he move his horse to one direction, while she was pulling on the horse in the opposite direction. She repeatedly made him feel inadequate, insignificant, and ashamed. I tried to keep the environment positive and light and Brenda had NO sense of humor. She frequently chastised me for joking. After we left, my kids expressed their relief that it was over. She advertises that it isn’t a nose-to-tail ride. It is! Brenda will yell at you to not stay in a line. Then she will yell at you for getting out of line. Her horses are stubborn and just do their own thing. We regret not riding with another company. The scenery itself was disappointing. We toured ugly construction development, the golf course and dry shrubs. My husband said he wanted to leave the moment we arrived and he got yelled at for petting their dogs(even though they jumped in our car)! We found the entire experience to be hostile, upsetting, and uncomfortable. Website says they want to create a ride that guests will remember until the day they die. It never occurred to me in advance that the memory would be a bad one. I’m not sure my kids will ever want to ride a horse again. Totally expensive misery!

Professionals to be sure. Brenda was thoughtful about how our family could ride as we were all beginners and had our 3 year old. Brenda had us pay extra for a handler to walk our 3 year old. That was brilliant. We live in San Francisco, have lived in Chicago and NYC so we are certainly not experienced with horses. Our guide was barking at us a lot and seemed annoyed. When I mentioned my horse seemed to be lively she barked back«Well he is an animal». I know nothing about horses so I just wanted reassurance he wasn’t having a bad day and was going to take it out on me while we were on the trail. I asked for a helmet after I saw how my horse was pushing limits and being grumpy and she blew me off. She was barking at my daughter as she was nervous. We are total beginners and when you see a horse with these giant muscles and realize the horse could do whatever he wants, it can be intimidating. Hard to say if the woman is always like this as we saw her one day. The other staff was friendly and helpful. They had a woman named Emily and a young man named Andrew… both very sweet and helpful in a respectful manner. Our guide just seemed annoyed and bothered. We have never been to another ranch so no idea how they compare. Would have been nice to have a guide who did not bark so much and seem so annoyed but we still had a great time and learned a lot.

Tremendous staff and a wonderful, personalized day with the horses. If you are looking for a special, customized ride in the mountains, look no further. Includes trail rides, lessons and a pair of Clydesdale — Butch and Sundance who pull a wagon in the summer or a sleigh in the winter. Call for a memorable experience.
