I was staying up top for about 2 months while waiting for my now ex-girlfriend to find us a place and get a job(i’m a over the road truck driver). Now the long term up on the hill is different from the front where the office is. The long term you have once a week room service(cleaning, changing linen, ect…) and the rooms are more run down. Last fall when I stayed there it was I think $ 650.00 a month(paid weekly). If you don’t mind constant partying, drugs galore and constant drinking you’ll do fine. The cops show up on a fairly regular basis. The rooms(at least mine) had holes in the wall, a tub that took hours to drain, a TV that worked part of the time and wasn’t being held by anything on it’s bracket, like as in the old heavy tube type TVs. The microwave worked but the fridge door never sealed so you couldn’t really keep anything in it. The manager(s) are all from India with a limited grasp of the English lanquage. When you seen ALL of them head to a room somebody was fixing to find a new place to live. Back to my ex-girlfriend. I had her on the road with me for a few months and she did great. ASSOONAS I rented a room at the Valley Inn she instantly found where the pot and pills were as well as the booze and I will not be around that so that was it for us. I’m a former drunk/druggie and have NO desire to ever enter that world again. Nothing against this place personally, most cheap motels have the same people living in them and the amount of traffic at times could be staggering for the number of rooms available. This is a old place and years back it used to be a fairly decent place to stay out, but as I found out times have changed. Other then the Pilot on the other side of the bridge, not really much around for about 5 miles in any direction. Anyway, the front section is more for travelers(short term guests) and the rooms are reportably much nicer then up on the hill in back, and I think more expensive.
