I had stopped by here just as Winter Storm Jonas had hit town. My significant other and I had planned a trip to Helen for this same weekend for our anniversary. We were staying at a nearby hotel and needed to hunt down some wine glasses for a bottle we brought along with us. Since Georgia is ill-equipped to deal with icy roads, driving was out of the question, so we set out on foot and came across this place. While they had a decent selection of drinks, they unfortunately didn’t have any wine glasses for sale a la carte. They did, however, have an anniversary set of Amaretto di Amore that included two small glasses. Without even asking about it, they removed the glasses from the set and gave them to us free of charge, and sent us on our way with their blessings. I was floored with their generosity, and wanted to at least pay it forward and stop by on my way out for a proper purchase. Unfortunately, I had to leave town before they opened again on Sunday. That said, that small token gesture has definitely earned my business for the next time I’m in town. It might be a while, but I won’t soon forget them.
