Nothing special. Their breakfast was pretty basic and overpriced for what you get. The complimentary breakfast at our hotel at the last stop was better. The service was ok but overall it wasn’t one of the better places we tried here.

I vacationed in Helen this weekend. I think this place is among the best of the best. When you ask for a cheeseburger here, you don’t get the mediocre Wendy’s burger, the burger is cooked amazingly and I had mine with bacon! Absolutely delicious! Not to mention the service was very good with polite staff and good wait time for the food. The restaurant itself is also very clean and well decorated. I recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Helen

My egg white omelette was excellent and the home fries were a great… not too greasy at all. My husband had corned beef hash and a biscuit and enjoyed his meal as well. Service was really good even though they were a bit overwhelmed in a busy Saturday morning. We would definitely go here again the next time we are in Helen.

We arrived at 10:30 and were quite rudely told we were too late for breakfast and we would have to wait to 12:00 for lunch, not sure what time they consider brunch is supposed to be served. Fortunately we found the Hofer’s and had a great breakfast there.

I mean this place is great! Perfect example of Georgia mountain food and southern hospitality, all rolled into a quaint and comfortable setting that is very clean!

Came here on Sunday morning the first weekend of Oktoberfest. Best choice ever! No wait, amazing service. The staff uses teamwork to place and clear the plates, food was amazing, and the tab was very inexpensive. Such a hidden gem.

The hostess on a not terribly busy day told me in no uncertain terms she would not seat us. Awful reataurant.

«Brunch» needs to be removed from Unilocal entry. We walked in excited to try the breakfast/brunch and we’re turned away and told that breakfast wasn’t served after 10:30. Most restaurants that advertise as «brunch» offer breakfast all day. We ended going to a different restaurant down the road. Terrible customer service.

[TL;DR] Not sure if it’s a local’s spot or a tourist’s spot. It doesn’t really appeal to either sensibility for me. Food is okay but was expecting divine. /ATMOSPHERE It’s on Helen’s tourist strip so you kind of expect a gaudy theme-park silliness. That’s not what you get here though. A modest back entrance off the tourist side of the strip, takes you into what could pass as someone’s large living room. That is, a living room of someone quite religious. There’s nothing that evokes a particular«Alpine» feeling about it if you’re looking for that. /FOOD With the casual feel, you get casual dining. I went for breakfast. They seem to run a daily breakfast special. Not good enough for me though. I went with the sausage sandwich. It’s probably one of the few things on the menu that I would consider overpriced. It was your basic sausage patty and egg sandwich on store-quality bread. Average all around. Tried a bite of pancake. Chewy and thick. Also decent but did not change my religion. *snort* *chuckle* /SERVICE Can’t say enough good things about the service. I walked in and requested a table for 8. That seemed not an issue until they asked if we wanted breakfast. Saying yes to this might have caused a small heart attack. There seemed to be a bit of distress. NOWORRIESTHOUGH! They got us covered. The nice lady came by frequently to refill coffees and check on stuff. She was really sweet. HOWTOREADMYREVIEWS: 1 Star — Does not approach edible. Fast & friendly. Home fries(boiled potatoes, then fries for breakfast needed a little Mir seasoning, but more order of tomatoes & onions was big, red and obviously home grown. My son’s french toast was hot and crisp. Good coffee(they didn’t have any soy or coconut milk :()

Great food and great service. I had an omlett and home fries with bacon and my wife had a fresh blueberry pancake. And the food was exceptional and my coffee was never empty. Will eat there again the next time we visit for sure.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast here on Sunday during octoberfest. We arrived about 9:45 am and were seated by 10. Outdoor seating was available however we are non smokers so we waited for indoor seating.(Even though they serve breakfast until 10:30 they were starting to turn away customers who showed up after about 10:10 telling them that lunch would start about 11.) We ordered eggs Benedict and a bacon mushroom omelette. My husbands meal was perfect! He loved the home fries. My omelette was delicious– the eggs were fresh, the bacon was thick and yummy. My biscuit with honey was flaky perfection. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They could not have been nicer. We look forward to returning.

Exactly what you would want for a hearty breakfast. Good food, generous portions, very friendly staff, reasonably priced. I had a 3 egg omelet w/swiss cheese and spinach. Very fresh. Biscuits and home fries were yummo. My husband had his eggs sunny-side up and said they were perfect. He’s hard to impress w/restaurant cooked eggs. We ate indoors because it was a bit chilly, but patio dining was also available.

Arrived around 11:30, were only serving lunch, no breakfast. Very friendly and allows dogs on the patio. Just wish they served breakfast or brunch all day.

The meeting Place was one of the few places I could find on Unilocal that served breakfast during our trip to Helen, GA. When we arrived we were quickly seated by a very friendly waitress. There was nothing particularly fancy or spectacular about The Meeting Place, but the food was good and the service was even better. I had a spinach, mushroom and onion omelet with country potatoes and a homemade biscuit. The biscuit was the standout star of the dish(so flaky and melt in your mouth good). If you are looking for a nice morning meal to start your day off right, I suggest hitting up The Meeting Place.

The Meeting place is a casual family restaurant located along Helen’s main drag(N Main St.). We had a group of 10 plus a dog and were turned away from Hofer’s across the street because our group was too big. The Meeting Place gladly took us in for lunch. The Meeting Place has a spacious patio with a fountain. The inside of the restaurant looks like any old casual restaurant in the South, like a Cracker Barrel. This place is great for groups, big and small. Our group occupied one of the long wooden tables outside. The restaurant serves lunch 11am-3pm. The lunch menu contains several options of basic American meals such as burgers, sandwiches, salads, and entrees like meatloaf, chicken tenders, fried fish, and fried shrimp. The menu is affordably priced with most items $ 7.50 or less. I ordered the chicken marsala, which was a special not listed on the menu. I chose coleslaw and mashed potatoes for my sides. According to our server, the chicken marsala was made fresh to order. The chicken was lightly floured and sauteed and came with mushrooms and a brown Marsala reduction sauce. I feel like the same sauce was used as the gravy for my mashed potatoes. The chicken marsala wasn’t bad — tender and flavorful enough. The sides of slaw and mashed potatoes were OK. Nothing wrong with them. I also tried the Philly cheesesteak($ 7.50). It contained generous portions of roast beef with grilled green peppers, onions, and cheese. Not bad and also made to order. The French fries that came with seemed pretty standard. Thick, golden, and crispy on the outside. Overall, the food did its job filling our stomachs satisfactorily. Service was fantastic. It seemed like a one server, one cook operation the day we visited. The server was incredibly welcoming and hospitable. Since we sat outside with a dog, she brought a bowl of water for our dog. Also, the cook took the time to come outside and check on our table as well. Be sure to park in the restaurant’s paved parking lot in the back. Three stars for the food + five stars for the service = 4 stars for The Meeting Place.

The Meeting Place is a nice, Christian restaurant with dog-friendly owners and nice people. They are dog friendly because we brought our dog here. We ate at the patio. So maybe dogs are only allowed on the patio, not inside. Hey, at least they are animal friendly. Speaking of being animal friendly, they have a cute, grey cat named Smokey who greets the costumers. Someone dropped her off and left her there. That’s pretty harsh. But Smokey looked healthy and is adoptable. The food tastes okay. They talked a big game, but everything seemed mediocre. They said their Waldorf Salad looked amazing. When we got it, it looked like a regular salad to me. I was expecting plating artistry that would make Micheline chef look like fast food chefs, but just got what looked like plain jane salad I can get at Chili’s. I got the ruben. It tasted okay. They toasted the bread well and the meat had good flavor. I got the fries as my side. The fries seemed forgettable. It tasted like frozen fries you get at the supermarket. I wasn’t impressed with the food. They do a good sales job and seem proud of their food. Too bad they didn’t taste as good as they hyped. But they seem very nice, charming and accommodating. Just for that, I’ll give them an extra .5 star.
