I could not fill the vintage video game void that lacked in my soul, and I starved for excellence in customer service. I searched endlessly, far and abroad to find such a store. All of a sudden, the dark clouds lifted and the song of angles started to play. There peered through the dark clouds was a red sign that read Zone 1. As I touched the handle to the door, pure ecstasy raced through my body. I love this store, to my very core. The staff is beyond nice and will carry on an intelligent conversation about vintage and new games. I’m not hassled to preorder a game unless I choose to… I CHOOSETO! This store is like America, free to choose want I want to do, nothing is forced down my throat… like some other big corporate game stores. Please stop by this store and appreciated what good customer service is like.

I just love vintage games, so as one would expect, a high rating. Compared to the other location, this one is a bit more out of the way for most people, but it seemed like their supply was of higher quality(vintage games). Also, not sure whether they do the BOGO free promo like the Chelsea location.

My son and I ran across Zone 1 Games in Helena the other day and couldn’t get over how much inventory they have. He likes the retro games and they have tons of them. He also likes to trade games for his PS3 and got a much better trade-in than we usually do at Game Stop. This place is much better than Game Stop simply because it’s locally owned and the workers were extremely friendly. Prices compare to buying on Ebay too. Awesome place to buy new and used video games in Birmingham

I’ve always had a great experience here. The owner is always welcoming and a pleasure to chat with. If there is something I’m looking for she will call her other store to see if they have if she doesn’t.

My dude and I have been scouring Alabama for secondhand game shops. I used to live in this area and remembered this place from several years ago — so I suppose if they are still in business after ~7 years, they are doing something right? They have a very wide selection of DVDs and games, specifically ones for older generation consoles. A lot of times, in stores like this, you see a lot of the«junk» games — multiple copies of games that just never sold very well. This place at least kept these to a minimum, but some of the prices I saw on GBA and DS games were a little ridiculous. Initially we were intrigued by the front and center signs that said, «Buy 2 get 1 free on all pre-played games.» Given that we were looking at old Genesis and SNES games, we figured those were of course pre-played. When we got up to the register, however, the cashier informed us that the deal only applied to XBox and PS2 games… I double checked, and this specification was not indicated on any of the signs advertising the deal. Furthermore, one of the signs actually specified«ALL» pre-played games were buy 2 get 1 free. However, the guy went ahead and gave us the discount for some reason, which knocked about $ 4 off the price. I want to praise this as good customer service but we would have never asked to get a deal off something if there wasn’t a sign about it in the first place. Surely they aren’t using these signs to lure people into the store. Surely. Also, I couldn’t help but notice that there were more dudes eating pizza behind the counter than there were customers in the store. I feel like that image speaks for this place on its own.
