This location is not clean at all. The floors inside need to be mopped and it has a musty smell.
The custard is fine, but for me cleanliness is everything.

I had a cantaloupe Italian ice at this location. It was okay. I think prices may be a bit high for what is essentially half-​frozen flavored sugar water but service was good and they let you have a sample.

Rita’s has great products. I simply love them. This location sometimes has great service and sometimes not but nothing beats Rita’s on a hot day. My favorite is the gelati (cherry/​vanilla).

Our local Rita’s…it’s just okay. Sometimes the service is good, but more often than not, it’s just okay. I normally get either a kid’s serving of custard or a small gelati.
I think that the service & the ice cream is better up the road at Vassi’s…but if you are really in the mood for Italian ice, it’s not a bad option.
What we really need in Hellertown is an ice cream place near the park, but that’s probably not going to happen. Boo.

I have to say, I do love some rita’s when it’s hot out. what I don’t love? sheepishly ordering a gelati with chocolate custard and «vanilla ice.»
I haven’t been to this particular rita’s location, but I can imagine they’re all about the same.

Rita’s rocks. The italian ice is great everywhere, but the service varies. I have to correct the other reviewer. There is no ice cream here, but custard. For those of you who don’t know, custard is egg based where ice cream has no eggs in it. There you go. You learn something new everyday.

THE BEST! Rita’s is always known around Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey as having the BEST ice cream and italian ice around… but this location is recently under new management, who have added flowers all around the building with the Red & White awning, along with all-​new tables and benches in the back for your enjoyment… with MORE flowers and nice landscaping! The service here is really fast if you get the right person, which is mostly everyone. Flavor selection is okay, sometimes they won’t have what you want… but it seems to have gotten better in the past few summers. GREAT PLACE FOR A TREAT!
