The food is good but the service is terrible. I have been there 4 times. I only have went back because they had good nachos. But seriously, not only was the service slow, my last trip there, they brought out my dinner after 35 minutes of waiting for an appetizer that they forgot about. While I watched the table next to me(who came in 15 minutes after us) eat the very appetizer I was waiting for. I was ready to start throwing food at random employees. My wife stopped me before it got fun. I will never go back, and neither should you. This place sucks.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Not only that the place is expensive but the staff, including the owner, is VERYRUDE! I remember one time in fall of 2013 when I was looking for a job, I asked the owner of they were hiring he rudely said no by giving me a glare and I left. Anyway, the service was bad but the food was pretty good. The food only took half an hour to come to the table. Really the owner has a VERYAWFUL attitude! Don’t go there!

We’ve eaten here on and off over the past 20+ years. It’s been hit or miss with regards to service, but food has typically been very good. Atmosphere is nice as it is located alongside the Contoocook river and has seating overlooking the river. Clean, slightly upscale lunch or dinner place, but casual dress as it’s located in a small college town. Wouldn’t consider it a family place to bring the kiddies, but a nice place for a date or to take the spouse out for a meal. Crab cakes are very good and sandwich menu is also very good. Dinner menu is also very good.

I made a lunch reservation and requested a table outside on a sunny Sunday. I was told that the outside tables could not be reserved, but they would try to accommodate our party of 4. The special was either a lobster roll or lobster salad on greens. My parents had one of each. It was disappointing — mostly mayo and celery for $ 16. Two of us had the gazpacho which was mostly chopped onion with a bit of tomato. My mother’s ear of corn arrived after she was finished eating the rest of her meal. When we asked for the dessert menu, the waitress only brought one menu and came back before all of us had a chance to review. Our check arrived right after our dessert so my husband ended up paying while we were still eating. It wasn’t that busy, there were empty tables, but we were rushed out anyways. Very disappointed. The view, however, was great. I’m not going back.

We took a little ride on the bikes and stopped for lunch. Everything looked good, the place was very clean, even the bar. We ate out on the deck, over looking a river. I had the portabella panini it was very good. The staff was very friendly I would love to come back, I’d like try the salads which looked awesome. Everyone was happy with their meal.

Daniels is a great place to bring family and friends. We have been a few times now. They have a good meal. Their crème brûlée was awesome! The Cajun chicken and pasta is very good as well. The homemade fries are delicious! The calamari is out of this world! We have only had one bad meal with them. We will continue to join them for a great meal. :)

The food was very good but very pricey for what it was. We had a chicken panini and a pub burger both were good but had to pay a lot extra for fries.

Great food. Really, very good food. But although it may seem a small thing to some, being charged 1.99 for a soda — with no free refills — is a real downer.

We stopped at this restaurant, while dropping my daughter off to a college campus. We were visiting from Maryland. I cannot comment on the food but only on customer service. We were seated at a table for two. We sat and waited and waited and waited. No one came to take our order or offer us any beverages. After 20 minutes we walked out. The place only have two table occupied both eating dessert. Not a way to treat customers especially first timers.

We felt lunch was good but way overpriced for what we got. Beet and goat cheese salad was unusual and delicious, 9.99; Husband ordered a burger7.99; It was surprisingly small. Side of veggie, small bowl 3.99. Will not return.

On the ride from Boston to Vermont, this place was our late lunch stop. It was quiet when we showed up and we were able to sit outside and soak in the riverside atmosphere. For drinks, we opted to try some of the Henniker Brewing beers. Up to this point, I’d never heard of them and was all about supporting a local brewer’s efforts. I chose their Amber Apparition, which was pretty good. Given our lack of familiarity with the brewery, we asked our server about them. She informed us that they are located about a mile-and-a-half down the road. There was a lot to choose from as it relates to food. Since it was a late lunch, my friend and I opted to split a few appetizers. Additionally, since it was a warm summer day, we each ordered a cup of gazpacho. It was quite flavorful and I was glad that I ordered it. The crab cakes were another solid choice, as they were made without any bread. The aioli that accompanied was a nice addition. The quiche left a bit to be desired. It included tomatoes, shallots, and onions(aren’t shallots and onions pretty close to each other?). It was smothered with melted cheese on top, which was one of the few sources of flavor. Definitely had better quiche. On the plus side, they did put a few grapes on the plate, again another nice accompaniment. On our way out, we stopped at the bar inside to ask about how to get to Henniker Brewery. Both the patrons and staff were quite helpful in getting us there.

The river view is absolutely amazing. Such a beautiful setting! The menu is pretty big. I ordered a french sandwich and my partner ordered a Mediterranean wrap. Both sandwiches came with chips and a pickle. Our waitress was nice, and checked on us a few times. They had a good selection of beer. We tried one from the local brewery and it was pretty good(enough to prompt us to visit after we ate). Prices were a bit high for the amount of food but you really cannot beat the view. I’d love to stop in again.

Generally Daniels is great. Entrees a bit pricey, but I usually order sandwiches, which are good. My dad says they have the best burgers he’s ever had. Great atmosphere with nice view of the river. Service is usually very pleasant, although pretty slow if they’re busy. Good beer selection, they have henniker brewery on tap which is awesome! Also yummy adult hot chocolates. They took my favorite sandwich off the menu a few years ago– Brie with sun dried tomato pesto grilled cheese. Please bring it back! So delicious, I’m surprised if it wasn’t a big seller. Last time I went here I got the lobster Mac n cheese which was great. My boyfriend got a tuna steak and ordered it medium rare– it was not medium rare at all, much too overdone. And didn’t seem like a good piece of fish to begin win. Pretty much was a waste of a $ 22 dish, as we had a few bites. My dog loved it though!

Stopped by after a high school evening ski race at Pat’s Peak. I had the salmon Caesar salad it was perfectly seasoned and the salmon was cooked medium rare(just as I had requested). The outside was crispy warm and delicious and complemented the cool salad perfrctly. I would have eaten more but it was already pretty late. Can’t wait to come back with my wife when we have more time. Everyone enjoyed their dishes as well. We will definitely be back to take a deeper dive in the menu.

Been coming here for 15 years when visiting family in Henniker. Great view of the river and not overly expensive in my opinion. The locally brewed IPA was excellent and reasonably priced at $ 14 a pitcher. The clam chowder was better than average, but the crab cakes were not. Would have been three stars if not for the service. The hostess was rude and hesitant to allow us to move to a recently vacated table with a river view. After waiting 25 minutes for drinks, I approached the bar and was reprimanded(by the same hostess) for not being more patient. I guess they are the only game in town, and perhaps the locals tolerate this nonsense, but I am less than inclined to recommend.

has a lovely site along the river and if sitting outside you can hear the water running along… pretty place, been here a few times food is ok but nothing special, recent visit burger was nice sized and cooked as ordered but without too much flavor, the tower was more a pile of pepper and mozzarella, decent… ok…but every time we have been here service has been slow, attentive but slow, so if you are in no rush i suppose it is fine… is a lovely site!

I wish I had read these reviews before! I ordered the $ 18 «Fried Scallops with hand cut fries.» What I got was 5 puny scallops on a pile of soggy potato chips. The waitress told me that what I got did look to be less than normal, but scallops are very expensive, so I got what I paid for.

The ambiance here is nice, rustic. Not a lot of places to park unless you realize that the bank parking lot is a good option. They are fairly inconsistent. I have had good meals, I have had bad meals, I have had slow, services, I have had no service. I once got a friend scallop dish and was asked if I wanted fries, figuring that it came with the meal. Only to find out it was an extra charge. Nice view, romantic and rustic dining, food isn’t too over priced but is a little more expensive but typical to the area. Worth a try with a date.

It’s really not THAT expensive. I mean, I guess for the Henniker area it’s pricier than some of the local eateries, but Daniel’s had great food that was well worth the cost. Our table of 6 all enjoyed their dinners. The mozzarella and tomato app was very fresh and it was a large portion. Fish and chips were good, as was the mushroom soup and the smoked salmon salad. My friend had another salmon special that she reported was delicious, as well. They had some domestic drafts as well as one or two local brews on tap. The waitress was pleasant and the atmosphere was cozy and quiet. Check out the cute gift shop upstairs!

Pricey & for no reason. I ordered fried scallops and fries… well what were supposed to be fries. My scallops came on this mess of sloppy grease soaked unattractive pile of sliced potatoes which what I’m guessing where homemade fries. Scallops were okay. The fries totally grossed me out. I also tried this place for lunch I got a lobster roll. Again expensive for no reason The grinder roll my lobster was served on was old and stale If you like wasting money try it out
