STEER CLEAR. I went there to have my gel polish removed on recommendation by a friend. I didn’t know what to expect because I’ve never had gel polish before.
Apparently they didn’t know what to do either. The guy buffed the polish off with a very course buffer and only minimum acetone soaking. My nails and cuticles were shredded afterward. My poor, previously very healthy and strong nails were left paper thin and rough as sandpaper with deep scrapes and grooves across the nail plate. When I objected, the guy offered a manicure and tried to push clear polish on me. The crappy manicure was nothing more than roughly filing my nails (they were still jagged and unshaped after) and pushing back my cuticles (I wasn’t letting him near my cuticles with clippers). They still looked and felt like shit.
The whole disaster cost $ 18.

If I could put less than 1 star, I would. I did not think it was very clean and should have followed my gut feeling and walked out immediately. All I wanted was my cuticles cut and polished. I did have a nail that started to crack. The technician had a hard time getting the glue out of the tube and when she finally did, it splashed all over by hands. After 5 minutes of trying to remove with acetone, I finally gave up (dizzy and nauseous), left the remaining glue on my hands and just asked to pay for what she had done-​one of the other employees wanted to charge me the full fee! In the end, they charged me $ 10 to have my cuticles cut, my hands glued and bathed in acetone! I understand accidents happen — but this was a very poor way to handle in my opinion.

I started going here a month or so ago after having a not so great experience at another salon in the east end. Lets leave them nameless bevause the people there are nice. This Nue Nails salon is okay, i like that I can always walk n and get done quickly. On this visit I got a pedicure and a fill in. A lady did my pedicure… She was perfect, not too much talking because I hate when they want to carry n a conversation and I cant understand half of it so I end up nodding alot. Lol. Ayway. After turning down getting my eye brows done twice. I got my fill in, a guy did that, he was good. Nice and neat. Loved his work.
