Spotted this place from Craigslist, and they have some interesting pieces. Prices seem to be reasonable, and the service when I stopped by on Small Business Saturday was pleasant and polite, without hovering. Lots of tables, cabinets, beds, vases, paintings/prints, light fixtures, etc. There was a small table with pieces used in the filming of «Lincoln» which is something I’ve seen at a couple of stores now.(I’m curious to know if there is some sort of certificate of authenticity with these objects. Nothing caught my interest so I didn’t ask.) There were also a handful of things I’ve never seen in another antique shop, which was a pleasant surprise. Much of the inventory is in good shape, but a chunk of what’s available needs some TLC from someone who knows what they’re doing. I didn’t find anything for me on this visit, but I’ll be sure to stop in again. Tip — the main aisle continues in a path to a more open, larger second room, so don’t skip over that. Patterson’s is located in a strip mall, behind the Burger King. It’s also next to a shop called Hope Thrift which has Goodwill style inventory and a more upscale way, so that’s worth stopping in for.

Patterson Antiques recently started posting some of their better pieces on Craigslist, and that’s what convinced me to make the drive out to the far West End to check them out. Overall, the store carries a variety of antiques and vintage furniture, and their prices seem reasonable, but more than I care to spend for most of the items. They do have some pieces listed very reasonably, and even the stuff that is a bit overpriced(no light fixture that I saw was under $ 100) they do have some really nice stuff. In particular, they had a giant leather tufted ottoman for $ 200– if I had a bigger house, I would have snapped that up in a second. And a gorgeous recently-recovered blue chaise. Divine. Worth a trip out if you are looking to redo a bedroom or furnish a new home.
