The Forge

First time here today, I wanted to try out the oculus rift and possibly play some games with my sister in-​law. I requested the oculus rift and the girl at the counter wasted no time helping me get setup. We ended up playing some smash, they had some competitive play going on but they had plenty of consoles and tvs to spare. Everyone here was really nice, will come back just to get away from inlaws and play video games.
Animé merchandise was on point, seriously loved that!

Wandered in here with my son, the staff was really nice. They showed me all the games that were available for us to play. Five dollars a person to get to you all day access to the console and the games they have. PC games are two dollars an hour. But you have to have your own steam account. And that means you have to buy your own games.

Not friendly atmosphere at all. As a novice, I was not sure what I was asking. My son wanted to play and there was nothing available because of a tournament. They girl at the counter was not helpful and quite snotty.

So glad I found this place! Not only is it a gaming center, but The Forge also has an awesome selection of animé merchandise (just forget about Hot Topic). We’re talking Naruto, Bleach, Attack on Titan, Fairy Tail, Studio Ghibli, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Kingdom Hearts, and the list continues. They also host community gaming events and spectators are welcome. The owner Chan was really cool and was very helpful and welcoming and he even let us test out the Oculus. (Yes, there is an Oculus set there!) If you’re interested in a particular item and they don’t have it in stock, Chan can get it custom ordered for you. The clientele here are pretty much what you’d expect — gamers. Being more of an otaku myself, I did feel as though I was receiving some glares from the other patrons (they could probably sense that I was a total n00b.) Although I’m the lowest of the low in the gaming community, that won’t stop me from returning and bringing some friends (and some extra money) with me!
