The design of the place is lacking and looks a bit rundown on the inside, but the awesome beer selection and great service makes up for it! Nice little bar in the Herndon area.

They have an impressive list of beer options to choose from. The service is a bit slow, but who cares when the food and drinks are good. As for happy hour food, they are about average… or a little above average.

This place could really use some updating. I went here on a week day with my coworkers for a holiday party. With my group and the other patrons there, it was a decent amount of people here and only one bartender-which I thought was weird staffing. Anyway she seemed to be able to handle it. We ordered all of the appetizers for the happy hour menu and they were all just ok. Nothing really stuck out on my taste buds but the loaded chips with chicken. I do like all the different games you can play– they have shuffle board tables, pool tables, darts, and I think I saw someone playing a enlarged Jenga set. The bathroom was also well kept for a bar.

So last night I went to carpool first time. Not your average Joe’s had their meet greet there and as I was ordering a drink with my four-year-old roommates daughter the bartender asked it ask she would like to have something and she said broccoli. We got our water from the bar and sat down. Ten minutes later the bartender found us w a plate of broccoli. Thanks for going above and beyond. Great guest connection and I will always think of carpool when going out.

One bartender was cool(wore glasses), but other guy was total a-hole. He got mad when customer made simple mistake on his signature of bill. Later, another customer asked for opinion on ale, so this taller guy(had facial hair) goes, «it’s an ale, sir… what more do you want me to say!»

The beer selection here is absolutely amazing! They have about 50 beers on tap — no exaggeration! Thats about where the positives end. The bartender who helped me first was very inattentive. I said twice that I wanted to order a flight of beers and yet she still brought me full size beers. Luckily, I corrected her after she had only poured two beers. She also gave me attitude when I wasn’t absolutely positive on where I would end up sitting since I was with a very large group. The other servers, however, were very attentive and polite. The food is greasy and lacking in quality ingredients — especially considering the prices. This place is weird when you’re not in a beer fog or when the exposure of the daylight sun reveals all the nooks and crannies. A car themed sports bar? Really? And who came up with that ugly utilitarian logo that really reminds you of some car service company, only to find a dirty carpeted sports bar faintly smelling of industrial cleaners and urine, striking bad memories of Chuck E Cheese.

Best local bar in Herndon. A great beer list that is constantly updated with new craft beers. The happy hour has low prices, I think rail drinks are less than $ 4 each 4-pm till 7-pm or so and the food prices are very reasonable… And Tasty! Lots of pool tables, lounge areas, darts, shuffleboard, and Golden Tee. The bar staff knows what they are doing and can make anything.

Love Carpool, one of my favorite places to go locally – if not my favorite. Plenty to do, good music, friendly bartenders, never busy or overcrowded. Lots of TVs and tons of space. Heading over in a few minutes!

Pretty neat concept. The bar itself was dark and dingy. There were fruit flies swarming around our beers. They have a reasonable selection on craft drafts. The service was good and bartender friendly. The food was pretty good for pub fair and the prices are reasonable for food. The beers are average priced for the area, really nothing under $ 6, until happy hour, but good luck finding a seat. I look forward to the nice weather to be on their huge patio.

This is more a review on their«brunch» … I’ve been to sports bars in the area with amazing brunches and carpool kinda dropped the ball. Food was decent, but kinda bland and not a huge selection. I think I’m going to stick with carpool as a bar and less of a restaurant

I have been to the Carpool in Clarendon a few times a while back and hadn’t had the opportunity to try this one yet. However, we were in the area yesterday and decided to pop in for the Eagles game. There isn’t a whole lot of seating inside in the bar area, so I have a feeling the place lends itself more to games and the late night crowd than just sitting and TV watching. My group got a sampler platter and veggies to split, some beers and a couple of sammies. Overall it was a good experience. We were well taken care of; the service was actually really really good! The food was OK. The sampler was good, the veggies were cut up nothing special(nothing special=a few carrot sticks, a few zucchini sticks, a stalk or so of celery, and a couple of peppers+a side of ranch) and completely overpriced, beer is beer, and we had mixed results on the sandwiches. My Reuben was delicious, although the kitchen got confused when I wanted to swap a salad for the fries that came with it(the menu actually advertises this for an up-charge, so IDK what that was about), and they gave me both. My husband’s Cheese-steak was not good. It was almost sour tasting; yuck! My BFF’s sliders were OK. She said they were a little dry, but edible. So, if you want to come grab a drink and play a game(they have pool, shuffleboard, huge jenga, skeeball, corn hole-outside, golf, and a huge connect four) this is your place. If you want to grab a seat at the bar for a game, probably get there early. Either way, you are bound to have a decent time.

This is a great bar. The beer selection can’t be beat, especially if it is craft brews you’re after. There is an outdoor patio with TVs, and inside are pool tables, giant Jenga, Foosball, shuffle board and many places to chill. Carpool is a jeans and t-shirt bar, after work happy hour bar, post kickball bar, etc. It is not the Reston town center, and to me, that’s the best part about it. Yes, parking can suck, but I’ve never had a problem leaving my car there overnight(to cab home after drinking). Try the wings. They’re tasty.

This is a great place to hang out with friends and have drinks and do stuff. Dart boards, pool tables, shuffle boards, and I even saw a huge connect 4 game. Lots of outdoor seating which is a must for a successful bar. I got a tuna steak sandwich from here, which was better than expected, and their fries are really good. Good beer selection. Not as many choices as some of the newer craft beer pubs, but you’ll be able to find something you like here.

I hosted a group event at Carpool on a Monday evening. They set aside a nice seating area in front of a huge screen with the Nats game on, and we had two pool tables and two dartboards going with a bunch of appetizers set out on a table in our little seating area. There are about five or so pool tables, and they’re all very nice, good quality and good condition. At the end of the night, we were wishing we had started a game of shuffleboard, too. They have a very large selection of beers on tap. The food was very good — much better than I expected for«bar food.» I ordered the jalapeño poppers expecting standard frozen, battered, deep fried variety. Much to my surprise, they were no kidding real fresh jalapeño peppers sliced in half and loaded with cheese, tater tots, and bacon. They were VERY good. We also enjoyed the wings, the hummus, and some burgers. All good stuff. The service we received was very friendly, easy-going and accommodating of our group’s requests. I thought the place was very clean and pretty upscale as a billiards place. The places I used to shoot pool in San Diego were all dives, so this was a big change for me. Heck, they even have granite counter tops and fancy water fixtures in the men’s room. The prices were a little steep, but I do think we go what we paid for in quality of food, quality of service, and quality of the pool tables. Overall, very pleased with our experience here, and I look forward to hosting another group event here in the future.

Love me some carpool. I’ve been here socially & for work events. I’ve also organized a work event here. 100% success rate as far as I’m concerned. Outstanding staff regardless of the situation, but especially when you’re paying the bill for a large party. Attentive and flexible on what’s should and should not go on the tab, food timing and assortment, and they even walked around and informed the folks in our party that the tab was going to be shut down to give everyone a heads up. First class service. I’ve made use of the pool table, foosball, skee ball, dartboards, and shuffleboard. So yeah. Everything but the jenga blocks. While most of the equipment is generally in good repair, the foosball table could use some TLC: on the plus side it’s a Tornado. The only kind of valid foosball table, in my opinion. It’s missing the white guards on the perimeter of the field and the rods are a bit stiff. Overall just a great place to hang out for any occasion.

This is starting to be my happy hour spot with friends when I’m in Herndon/Reston. I love their beer selection and their happy hour specials(honkers ale 21 oz for $ 5.50!) as well as their Monday wings special. Wings are delicious with great sauces and spice flavors. Other items they have that are good are their sliders, crab dip and chili cheese fries. Also love all the games too. Billiards, shuffleboard, skee ball and full sized Jenga and connect four avail for fun as well as all the tvs for sports games. Drinks, food, games and sports. It must be like heaven!

***3.5*** A good friend/colleague of mine accepted a new opportunity and decided that«Carpool» would be the place to hold his celebration. The time finally came to attend the event so off I went. Upon arriving there were two things that I noticed immediately, 1.) The outside look of Carpool looks to be old and outdated 2.) The parking here is a little funky so be sure to park in the appropriate spots(probably best to park in the back) In spite of number one, I still proceeded to enter the establishment. Once I entered, I see that this place is actually bigger than it looks, but has very limited seating. So if this place is ever packed be prepared to stand(which I assume is idea for social establishments, however not for women coming from work in heels). There HH(Happy Hour) prices are pretty reasonable and have a reasonably vast selection of beers. There were only three types of food items purchased for this gathering, and they are as follows: Chicken fingers, Chicken Quesadillas, and Nachos. Now I didn’t get a chance to try the Nachos but the Chicken fingers and the Quesadillas were pretty darn good. I think I may have eaten all of the Chicken fingers because I just couldn’t stop going back to grab one… lol. Overall I think Carpool is a cool HH hangout spot. With a little sprucing up this place could possibly be the talk of Herndon in regards to HH joints. Oh and the half star increase was because the Chicken fingers hooked me, I just couldn’t get enough.

My new favorite happy hour place!!! I have been going to this place for about a year now. I love the staff and their happy hour specials are great. Every monday they have wing specials for $ 0.49 per wing and $ 2 – 3 dollar domestic beers. I would say my favorite food here is spicy teriyaki wings, chicken tenders and bruschetta. I have tried almost all of their appetizers and a lot of the times, came out better than I expected from a happy hour special menu. It is very laid back and cozy, one of the best parts is that you see the same staff every time you visit and always greet with a genuine smile. I love their interaction with customers and bartenders are awesome.

We never would have known about Carpool if there hadn’t been an after work get together. They have a good variety of beers on tap and their staff is pretty helpful. We’ve not eaten here yet, so we can’t attest to the food, but while we were playing ‘jumbo’ jenga, a nearby table ordered some wings and they smelled really good. The crowd here is definitely not pretentious and everyone seems to be laid back. There’s an internet jukebox, skee ball, jenga, a giant connect four, several pool tables, darts, shuffleboard and a couple of golf video games. There’s also a good amount of places to just kick back and hang with your friends. It was raining a little bit, so we didn’t sit outside — their outdoor patio is decent in size. Carpool has a few tvs situated here and there, but the satellite wasn’t working so well while we were there. Although there wasn’t a ‘good’ game on, I’m kind of skeptical about their reception for when it really counts. Another reviewer mentioned that Carpool is dirty and smells. I’m not necessarily sure what that person was looking for. If I want to go to a classier joint, I’ll find one and skip Carpool. I didn’t think it smelled during my visits. I agree that the couches are likely grimy, but I’ve come to think that many bars don’t really clean their seating. Don’t they just wait until their old furniture ‘dies’ and go out to buy some new stuff? I’ve seen worse in NOVA and many other states. This place is a decent bar.
