We love Jackson’s. The food is delicious and the staff is always very professional. The goat cheese and pecan salad is one of my favorites as well as the veggie plate. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal here

Went for lunch on Father’s day, service was excellent quality and quantity of the French Dip and Reston Scrambler were both tops. We enjoyed the Bloody Mary & Mimosas from the bar which were great. Never rushed and made to feel like we were old friends not the out of Towner’s that we were. Great Job!

Food was great, ambience good. Service was crazy slow. Took almost 2.5 hours for the meal, not because we lingered… but because server was oversat and running crazy. Lobster Bisque and Crab Cakes… both 5 stars

I feel bad for doing this but I really feel like they only deserve three stars. The food wasn’t amazing or anything and I think it was very pricy. I do however think the service is really good and this restaurant really does hussle to get things done quickly and efficiently! Unfortunately the best part of the meal was the complimentary bread. Everything else was just okay. I ordered the field Greens salad and the ahi Tuna app. The Ahi Tuna app was really small and I wish they gave more in the ‘salad’ that it was spread over. This was a featured app so it doesn’t appear on the menu. It was costly. 10 $. The tuna itself was fine, just there was very little of it. Maybe 7 thin thin sliced seared pieces. Would not order again. The greens Salad was just okay. The dressing was nothing special at all and the salad was just typical. I think the size was very small too. I would see that more as a side salad.($ 7) My table ordered the veggie burger which doesn’t come with a bun. Kind of odd, but I guess that works. Maybe they assume that if you’re a vegetarian, you may also be gluten free? Anyway, the table enjoyed the burger, but be warned that it only comes with big romaine lettuce leaves to wrap the ‘burger’. The other person at my table ordered the lobster roll. It was a little on the small side. I feel like the plate was more full of fries than it was anything else. So that was kind of a let down. But this dish did taste the best out of all of them.

Went there last night for supper. The atmosphere was lively, as it was happy hour on a Friday evening. It wasn’t too loud(as one would expect in a bar during happy hour. We could actually converse at our table without yelling.) Kudos! Seating was prompt and our hostess was quite cheerful. We encountered three different servers, which I found to be a bit odd but nonetheless each one was professional and attentive. We each ordered the lobster roll which came with fries and veggies. I selected the creamy spinach as a substitute for corn on the cob. The presentation was quite lovely although the lobster roll was minuscule considering it was the entrée. The creamed spinach was bland. Cooked to perfection yet it had zero taste. The fries were pretty good. I prefer mine soft and I’d say the majority were to my liking. The lobster roll was superb. The bread had just the proper balance of butter and toast to accommodate the large chunks of lobster in the lobster salad. The only complaint would be portion size for the money. If I were preparing a sandwich for a child, this might be the preferred size. For $ 17 I expect a bit larger of a sandwich. Other than that, I have zero complaints regarding this establishment. I absolutely would recommend it and we’ll as return if ever I happen to be in the area.

The meals at Jackson’s have been reliably good, no matter what I have ordered. Just had their broiled crab cakes for lunch today. Some of the best crabcakes I’ve ever eaten. They were served with french fries and an excellent cole slaw. The thing I noticed most about the crab cakes(they are served without a roll) was that there was absolutely no cartilage or shell like material in the crab meat. Probably the first time I have ever had anyone’s crab cakes where the meat had been so carefully picked. I will get it again. Service was patient and pleasant.

When you get out to Virginia, you realize how cheap everything is. Love the bread rolls before and the calamari. Bubble and Squawk had an awakened name but tasted alright. Next time will go for the breakfast Burger, however. I enjoyed some of my friend’s Mac N Cheese

This is as good as any of the other restaurants in this chain, I’ve never had a bad meal at any of them. I did have a ginger martini here that I loved, I was skeptical because it was a rum martini with ginger but it was lovely. Service is always great, and prices are what they should be for the quality.

I’ve been here to eat three times and each meal was really tasty. Not light, but it all felt good going down. Large gluten free menu, too.

I was torn between a regular burger and the the French Dip. The waiter convinced me that the French dip was worth the extra $ 5 – 6 dollars. He was right. It was delicious… SERIOUSLY. The bread was so moist and soaked in the au jus. The meat melted in my mouth. I’ve been here for happy hour with colleagues but this was the first time I’ve had dinner. I didn’t realIze it was in the American Restaurant family until the check came with an advertisement for the other places. Good choice for dinner if you’re in Reston. Just wish they had an IPA on tap.

My old work team used to love Jacksons. I’m ambivalent. It’s loud, crowded and a total pick up joint. Drinks were OK, food was OK. If you like a big crowd in a small place with a bunch of people trying to pick each other up during happy hour, then this is your best bet in Reston. I don’t, so it’s not a place I’d go back to.

Jackson’s is always jam packed especially in the summer time and to my surprise they don’t even have happy hour deals. Their patio is nice to sit and people watch. Love love loveeee the food here even though it is a bit on the pricier side. I’ve tried pretty much everything on the menu and my favorites are the salmon salad, deviled eggs, and lobster roll. All their drinks are good/strong and they have a good selection. Beware when it’s Friday night though because you will have to wait for drinks. It’s definitely a place that’s consistently good and keeps bringing back customers. Two thumbs up!

Went there for Easter Sunday brunch around noon. Glad we finally tried this place! Great American Restaurants really have their act together. The ambiance was great and décor modern. They even had an Easter bunny that came around to all the tables. My kids really enjoyed it. They started us off with their sugar donuts and carrot loaf(?) bread. The fried donuts with sugar on them are different from the other GAR. The other ones just serve the donuts minus the sugar. We prefer the donuts with sugar and have suggested that option to Sweet Water Tavern awhile back. Maybe our suggestions were heard? Now onto the food: For appetizers, we started with the deviled eggs and candied bacon. Interesting pairing but it really worked together. For the entrees, We ordered the chicken and waffles, brioche French toast with eggs and home fries, beets salad with goat cheese, and the lobster roll. The C+W were my favorite dish and the chicken had a nice kick to it accentuated by the bourbon maple syrup. The waffles were okay. The BFT was pretty sweet and really did not need the additional maple syrup on the side. The eggs were okay and the home fries were a bit undercooked. The salad was excellent but nothing stood out about it. The lobster roll was overpriced and very chewy. The service was subpar on that day. Maybe it was the Easter crowd or maybe the server was feeling a bit out of it today but overall was my worst service experience at a GAR(maybe we have been spoiled previously). The dinner + tip came out over $ 100 so please get your act together. I will probably give Jackson’s another shot someday but for now, I think I’ll stick to SWT unless I am in the neighborhood.

We stopped in for drinks and apps or V-day, before heading to Barcelona for dinner. We sat up at the lower bar and the bartenders were friendly and efficient. We ordered beer, a bourbon smash and the deviled egg with bacon app. The bourbon smash was so strong. I actually had to wait for the ice to melt and dilute it a bit before i could drink it! The deviled eggs were consistently good — as they have been on every visit there. The glazed bacon is always cooked to perfection. My husband couldn’t get enough of it! The eggs are always well-seasoned. The restaurant was busy. Restrooms were clean. Food came out quickly.

I go to Jackson’s frequently when the weather is nice because its one of the very few places that you can sit outside. I think all of their bartenders have great personalities(particularly Dave and Vernon), and I really enjoy coming here. My boyfriend and me go all the time for their salads which may sound funny, but its hard to find a REALLY good salad, and they have them. I love the lobster salad, and their soups are pretty good too. My only pet peeve is that they don’t have anything for happy hour. I understand– they really don’t need to because the place is always very busy, but it would be cool if they did. Also my dog can’t come into the patio area so he needs to stay on the opposite side if the fence. I get that not everyone loves dogs, but he’s so well behaved I wish he could be on the patio.

What can I say, I’m a fan of GAR restaurants and this place is right up to my standards of the rest of them. Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to finally come to Jackson’s in Reston, maybe because I live next to a few fro my house! We stopped here one Saturday night for drinks so we sat at the outdoor bar seating area but that did not stop me from getting a some bites and an entrée. The bartenders and service were friendly just like at every other restaurant, asking for your name, catering to your needs with an optimistic attitude. I forgot the bartenders name, but he had a good handle on the Saturday night crowd. For starters we got some creamy spinach and artichoke dip which was creamy and tasted just like it should. Now I am not a calamari fan but their crispy sweet and sour calamari sometimes makes me think otherwise… SOMETIMES, if you cover anything in a sweet jelly and deep fry it, I am sure it will taste great, but I digress. Feeling meaty, my attention was caught by the steak frites and I instantly shut my menu after reading it’s description, dodging any feeling of buyers remorse that may have come as a result of continuing on through the selections of delicious eats. The hanger steak came out and it suppressed the hankerin’ I had when all was said and done. It was dressed in light sauce that was very acidic, couldn’t quite put my finger on what was in it, but I loved it. All in all, Jackson’s met my GAR expectations exactly of what I thought it would be like. Come on by if you want reliably good service and always tasty food OR if you simply just want some drinks and are jonesing for Ozzie rolls!

I used to come here all the time when they opened as a: I’m a huge fan of the Great American Restaurant chain and b: they have one of the nicest outside terraces in RTC. Always a happening place for HH as well. So coming back to the area after a two-year hiatus, a lunch invite brought me back today. Along with some of my old favorites, the specials sounded amazing. I ordered the tuna tartare on gazpacho with cucumber. It was fabulous. The flavors married harmoniously with the fish. Service as always was stellar. Looking forward to more meals again here.

This is one of the many restaurants owned by same company here at Reston Town Center. My coworkers and I came here after a long day at work looking for some good food. I got the grilled chicken /citrus wild rice salad. The wild rice was on the sweeter side — I actually couldn’t finish it because it was a little TOO sweet for my tastes, but I think there are some people who would really enjoy it. They have an extensive drink menu as well that unfortunately I didn’t get to try, so I can’t vouch for any of them in particular. Service was great, and the waiters/waitresses were able to help us out with everything/anything we needed.

Stopped in for dessert and a drink and found a couple of seats at the bar. The bartender’s weren’t rude but they also acted like they were better than most. I asked about the various bourbon selections and they acted put out. We ordered one round of drinks and enjoyed our desserts. Although my friend would have enjoyed more beverages, I didn’t want to give this place any more business. It wasn’t busy and it was mid-week after 8:00pm. I am not sure if these bartenders thought they were better than most but they certainly could use a few lessons on customer service. There are so many restaurants and bars in the Reston town Center, I don’t think I won’t miss this place.
