I have been visiting NoVA including Arlington and Fairfax counties for the past many years. Both Arlington and Fairfax are up and coming NoVA counties. I just discovered Reston, which is a Census-​Designated Place (CDP) in Fairfax County. Reston’s population is about 60k adjacent to Dulles airport. It is a planned community founded in 1964 so it is pretty young.
The founding principles of Reston are «Live, Work, Play and Get Involved.»
The Reston Town Center (RTC) is the planned core and home to many businesses, with high-​rise and low-​rise commercial buildings that are home to shops, many nice upscale restaurants, offices, a cinema, and a Hyatt hotel.
I have come to quickly appreciate both Reston and especially RTC.
