My wife accidentally went here not knowing that you had to heat up your own pizza at home. That’s not the reason for the 3 stars though; it also tasted like a Digiorno pizza, so it would have been easier to just pull one out of the freezer than go out to pick it up.

Used an online coupon code for $ 4 off a Gourmet Delite pizza — angus steak and roasted garlic. The thin crust is so much better than frozen thin crust. Fresh ingredients that are evenly spread out. Friendly staff too. I love that the instructions are on the pizza and you can bake the pizza right in the plate/container it comes in, so no mess in the oven! Great option for getting a fresh pizza that you can bake the same day at your convenience.

We ordered a taco and herb chicken mediterranean pizza at the restaurant on a Friday night. Only took about 15 minutes for them to get them prepared! They were quick to cook and super tasty. Everything was incredibly fresh! We will definitely remember this place in the future! Can’t wait to try more!

This was our thanksgiving meal 2 years ago :) We were moving during thanksgiving and realized that most of businesses already closed for thanksgiving! We found this pizza place open and it became our go-to place ever since!

I used to visit Papa Murphy’s in Colorado. When I saw this one I was very happy. When I spoke to the owner I was surprised that this was the first one in Virginia. They are generous with their toppings and the topping are good. Their combinations are well selected also. They have tasty salads and cookie dough. All the ingredients for a great family evening. Their prices do seem a little high but they always have a special on that is significantly less. I like that it is uncooked. Buying a pre-cooked pizza results in a lukewarm pizza when I end arrive home to eat it. This way its piping hot!

Sorry… cafeteria-level pizza. Low grade ingredients and lots of bitter after taste. Cheap, but you get what you pay for. If you’re looking to take home a pizza to bake yourself you would probably do better going into the GIANT grocery right next door and picking up a frozen California Pizza Kitchen or even D’Giorno’s. Same or better price and better quality.

Another NOCHEESE pizza in the trash from this place. It not only had cheese on it but extra cheese. We asked for extra mushrooms not extra cheese I have a dairy allergy. Customer service is lacking at this store. I’m not waiting for the third time to be the charm.

It’s really good pizza I just wish they would bake it for you. I get that it’s their thing but sometimes I want their pizza without having to do the work.

My son loves papa Murphy’s. I think the ingredients are fresh and tasty. While it’s not gourmet pizza it certainly is way way better than the big three; Pizza Hut, dominos and papa Johns. It’s highly customizable and offers a wide range of fresh ingredients as toppings. It has just the right amount of cheese and toppings. Very easy to bake. It comes with clear instructions. That’s it!

I love it. I got the jack O lantern pizza and a thin chicken and garlic. Very tasty, fresh, and easy to cook. I like how you can take it home and cook it to your liking and promises of fresh hot pizza. Also customer service is five star!

I REALLY wanted to like this, the concept was very appealing if it could be pulled off with the same appealing aspects of the food that make the best pizza joints, the best pizza joints. Possibly worth noting though, I’m a huge fan of NY Style pizza. The Good: The value was great, 18″ pizza w/5 toppings for $ 16 is amazing, and the volume of toppings was nothing short of ridiculous. Concept is unique and appealing, prep/baking was very easy. The Bad: The entire flavor profile was bland and unappealing. The cheese was plentiful but lacked any flavor, although I admit mozzarella is not necessarily a terribly poignant flavor to begin with… I can only say that I know when it «works» for me with a pizza. The rest of the toppings(pepperoni, bacon, onion, black olives) added literally no flavor at all. I couldn’t taste any of them, and they all have very distinct flavors. Lastly, the sauce could have used some more spice, it was«tomatoey» for sure but not much flavor outside of that. Went in hoping for success, came out wishing for more(yes, more flavor).

I give this place 4 stars for their pizza, but 2 stars for the concept(put it together and what have you got, 3 stars) First the concept: Have you ever been walking around at the mall or your local shopping center and noticed a new store just opened and said to yourself«this place will never make it»(like right now I’m thinking this about Mrs Greens Market in Fair Lakes with Whole Foods and Wegmans so close), well, if I were walking by the first Papa Murphy’s when it just opened however many years ago I’d be thinking exactly that. But this is the 5th biggest pizza chain in the country, which is a huge accomplishment when you think of all the smaller chains out there(Godfathers, Shakey’s, Round Table, Sbarro) so I would have been wrong, for once. This place builds you a custom pizza for you to cook when you get home. Apparently putting sauce, cheese and toppings on a Bobili crust is just too complex for some people. I think the concept kind of misses the whole point of going out for pizza. People are rushed, and want an easy dinner that requires no time to make. Going in here, waiting for them to make the pizza(which only took 5 minutes) taking it home, preheating the oven, baking the pizza, and slicing it when I could just have a conventional pizza chain do all those things for me seems pointless. I think the big gripe I had though was the fact that with what seem to be permanent promotions like Pizza Hut’s $ 10 any pizza or Little Caesars Hot n Ready pizza this place seems expensive for not delivering you a finished product. I opted for a 1 topping pan pizza for $ 9(which was the special posted on the window,) so I got a bit of a deal($ 2 off), but I think I would have rather had a «cooked» Little Caesars Deep Deep dish for $ 1 less. Another big drawback is that you are reccomended to make the pizza within 24 hours of picking it up, I might be able to understand the concept a little more if the pizza could store for at least a week. Now the Pizza: The pizza has a real distinct taste to it, I think it’s the taste of «fresh.» It really did remind me of the pizza that I would make with Bobili. I think they offer a much wider array of options than a typical pizza place, so if you want a custom pizza to make at home that Digiorno doesn’t make this is a good option. Myself, I am a 1 topping kind of guy so I guess I kind of wouldn’t get as hyped about this place. Bottom line, it’s the best pizza you can make at home, at the price of a cooked pizza anywhere else, though I’ll take this place over big chain #3 Papa John’s anyday.

Papa Murphys has become out Friday«go to» for the family. The quality is excellent and I always feel we have a ‘fresh’ product. A few tips: 1. I must point out that they do get busy, so it’s easiest to simply call in your order ahead of time. This prevents frustration with waiting around that I have read on some prior reviews. 2. Rotate your pizza in the oven as shown in the directions. If you don’t do that, you are going to have a bad pie. Just read the directions and you will be fine. 3. Don’t let the pizza pan touch the sides of our oven or it will smoke\burn. 4. Get the de-lite crust! It’s better for your and in my opinion tastes better as well. 5. Sign up for the weekly coupons. Excellent values. 6. Try the«Magnifico». It’s not on the menu, but is an AWESOME pie! This is a great family-run operation!

What a total surprise! We wanted pizza, but not from any of the usual places, so stopped in here after shopping at Costco. The garden salad was super fresh, and the pizza(we got Papa Murphy’s Favorite, minus the mushrooms), was surprisingly tasty. Super filing — one piece went a long way — and crunch crust. We’ll absolutely go back.

I live in California and get pizza from Papa Murphy’s fairly regularly. I’m a fan already. My parents live in Burke, and my wife and I were in Reston. We noticed that there was suddenly a new Papa Murphy’s right off the parkway! I was hesitant to introduce a new pizza paradigm to my elderly father, because he’s very set in his ways. I don’t think he had eaten non-Pizza-Hut pizza in a number of years. I was anticipating an outright rejection! However, he declared it to be the best pizza he’d ever eaten. I’m not ready to say it’s the best pizza in the world, but it’s easy, cheap, and good. If you’re looking for take-home pizza in western Fairfax/Reston/Herndon, this is a really good choice.

My local friends who have tried this place have expressed concern first at the concept and secondly with this particular copy. Let me put my thoughts forward: The concept of fresh, to-order take-and-bake appears to be new to many here on the east coast. Papa Murphy’s and Papa Aldo’s out on the west coast was introduced decades ago and I believe have a much firmer following there. The idea being that when you don’t live in the city, getting a custom pizza made but being able to transport it long(er) distances to freshly bake enables you to have a better pizza experience than say, driving a long’ish distance and cooling the pizza on the way home. Growing up in a «pizza desert» to alter FLOTUS’s term meant that our choices were frozen pizza, Pizza Hut, Godfathers(remember them), or take-and-bake. It was an easy choice then and I’ve found that barring NY– or Chicago-style pizza, Papa Murphy’s continues to provide outstanding pizza. To me, the concept is fantastic and I thoroughly enjoy it. Easy to pick up on the way home to bake later for movie night with the kids. Costco does the same thing — in fact as a rural\suburban Washington company themselves, their employees were so taken with Papa Aldos(pre-Murphy’s) pizza that they incorporated the idea there and voila! Papa Murphy’s offers an array of crust options and a huge supply of toppings. They’ll do whatever you want w/o problem. They do staff their stores with high school kids but seriously — tell them what you want and they do a fine job. Favorites include the Hawaiian, the Cowboy, and the deep-dish anything. The strong sauce, endless options and perfect crust every time thanks to their proprietary trays ensure that this family will return there again and again for their great pizza. Permanent place in our rotation.

We were going to try the large cheese pizza that has a crust in between the thick and the original according to the sales associate. We are big fans of all styles of pizza and were looking forward to trying Papa Murphy’s. It is Zagat rated so it must be good right? When we brought it home I noticed the crust was very moist. I had concerns as to whether or not the pizza would get crisp on the bottom. We cooked it exactly as directed. Needless to say I have had better frozen pizza. Our Papa Murphy’s pizza was soggy on the bottom and never got crisp. It was so awful and soggy we had to throw it out. Not sure if we got a bad pizza but based on our first experience I could not recommend it at all.

I don’t normally submit reviews, but Papa Murphy’s is my favorite pizza place, so I really hope it takes root here in Virginia. The restaurants are big on the west coast, so I was really surprised I couldn’t find them out East when I moved here. Particularly as I haven’t found a good, affordable pizza place that I really like here, I’m thrilled a Papas has opened up. Papa Murphy’s is popular on the West Coast because it offers something of a hybrid between more expensive pizza places that offer big pizzas with varied fresh toppings, and the convenience of fast pizzas like Pizza Hut, Dominos, etc.(they put the pizzas together in front of you in about 5 minutes). The big advantage of take n bake is that the pizza obviously doesn’t get cold on the drive home. Plus you can throw it in the fridge and save it for parties, football games, etc. later. Pizzas are big and usually run between $ 12 – 16. And there are lots of coupon specials. All in all, it’s a great, easy pizza option. Really hope they take hold and expand!

It’s a take-out bake-your-own-pizza-at-home place located in the Franklin Farms Shopping Center(and it’s located in the same retail space as a similar establishment that closed a few months ago). For just $ 13, I bought a custom made veggie pizza that was overload with veggies and easily fed 2 adults and 1 teenager(with 2 slices leftover). I chose the regular crust(which was delicious), but there was also a stuffed crust and think crust options. In addition to pizza, there were several other fun items for sale: a box allowing kids to make their own pizza; raw cookie dough; dessert pizzas; etc. I like to try all sorts of pizza, so I may not be a regular customer, but I’ll certainly be back again.
