This place has old food, it’s been sitting there all day under bulbs, the smell isn’t pleasing, the employes aren’t knowledgable about the food or bow it is made, don’t get me started on the bathrooms, no soap or towelettes, if you want good Persian food, this isn’t the place.

I have to admit, not a huge Kabob fan. But I thought, maybe I just haven’t had the right kabob. Usually, for me Kabob meat is way too dry and season-less. It was here too. The«seasoned» rice hadn’t much flavor either, and the Naan bread was burnt. It wasn’t very«express» either.

I loved the homemade taste of the food. The variety of dishes was just right. The reason I think the food was just okay is I personally only liked about 10% of the food there during their lunch buffet on a weekday, which isn’t much.

Went there from work when they had the $ 20 for $ 10 special. I work right across the street, so a coworker and I thought we’d just try it out. It is okay, nothing too special. We went during lunch hour and it seemed like most people were just getting the buffet, being someone who is not a big fan of buffet in places I’ve never been, I ordered the lamb kabob. It wasn’t bad, was a bit chewy, but what can you expect when your getting 50% off. Overall I probably won’t be going back anytime soon. My recommendation if you are in the area and can’t go further than a mile or mile and half, is to go to a spot called«Sorrento Grill», overall the quality of their food is much better. I would also recommend the«red hummus» as a side.

Surprisingly good! We had a Groupon that led us to try this place in the Worldgate shopping strip. Very casual place, but nice enough. Nice person working there. The selection of food items was very good compared to other middle eastern buffets in the area, very many items. Plus, the food ethnicity was diverse – some was like you would find in the Afghan/Pakistani kabob places, but some of it was Persian, and it was all very nice. Not the best, mind you, but I’ve had much worse. It was fresh, hot, and very enjoyable. The Persian lamb along with lima bean rice was lovely.

It’s a decent buffet for lunch. The meats are tender and moist. The naan isn’t as good as other places.

Pretty solid Persian buffet dinner, which I’d never had before.(Buffet Persian, that is. I’ve had buffets and Persian food separately before.) Really love the dill, fava rice and the lamb kabobs. You can eat cheaply, quickly, and to your heart/stomach’s content here but beware, it is a little empty and depressing.

ordered some food from here to go. ordered a beef/chicken kabob and a lamb kabob and hummus. all the meat was cooked well enough. not seasoned the best or anything, but was cooked properly. portions were decent but on the smaller side. lots of rice with one entrée and it tasted good. bread was decent, tasted almost fresh… but it tasted like it might have been wheat naan or something… strange but it was ok. a little tough or dry, but tasted homemade at least. white sauce tastes like Mayonaisse… Mayonaise on kabobs = gross. Green sauce was pretty decent, though. Hummus tasted strange… like it was super plain. I think it was just tahini and chickpeas… no taste of olive oil or lemon or salt or anything else in it… just tahini and chickpeas or maybe even just chickpeas. I dont know. very plain. would not order it again. online ordering system did not let me choose a side… when i arrived i discovered chickpeas were chosen for me before I arrived. Would have been nice to choose a different side if I wanted it… oh, and another thing about the online ordering… i ordered about 45 minutes beforehand and selected a time for pickup. I arrived 10 minutes early and the food was already bagged and sitting on the counter. Good thing I didn’t arrive on time because my food would have been sitting out 10 minutes longer than however long it already had. maybe thats why my bread tasted tough by the time I got back to the office… i dont know. All things considered, it wasn’t terrible… I felt like it was not a good value for the price of the order. With other choices in the area serving up the same food, it would be a hard sell for me to come back. If I did come back, I would get the buffet, because that did look pretty decent. Take out is a no go for me in the future.

I purchased a groupon deal because I live right across the street and I thought I might as well try it being I live so close by. Anyhow the deal was for $ 12 for two buffets during their night feast staring at 5:30. When walking in I thought this place seemed a bit sketch as it was pretty empty and just about all the serving trays on the buffet were empty except for maybe 4 of them. There was no bread except a few dried up shrivel pieces and only one hummus selection which their website boasts several types. I thought wow this is a dud as I’m eating at a buffet that has 4 selections of rice and that’s it but luckily there was a nice security guard in there and he told us to just tell the cook what we want and they will bring the food out to refill the trays.(I don’t think that should be needed as they should monitor the food, but I digress…)So eventually they brought out one vat of rice, one small plate of about 7 chicken pieces and one plate of about 7 beef kebabs pieces. I would think one of the most efficient ways to replenish a buffet style restaurant is to bring out several items in lieu of bite size snacks that will feed all of two patrons. The food itself is pretty good as the meat was fresh, tender and juicy. They had a good variety of rice to choose from which wasn’t overcooked and when they did bring out the bread it was warm and soft. This place has absolutely no frills but I think this is one of the healthiest alternatives to a fast food restaurant. I would definitely come back considering I live right across the street as they have fresh food when it’s there and you don’t have to worry about them being too crowded.

I went to shishkabob express because I bought the 2 buffets for 12 bucks off of groupon and the groupon was for two adult and two drinks. When we went to pay the cashier said that we would have to pay tax which was $ 1.60 and then they taxed my tax which I didn’t understand but just ignored it, and then she charged me for two drinks even though the buffet includes two adult buffets and two fountain drinks, at the time I didn’t want to make a scene for a few dollars. When we picked a table and went to eat, the plates were nice and clean but none of the food was fresh even though there were at least ten customers inside and I was there when it was prime time for dinner and none of the food was fresh. The kabobs were horrible and really dry, the chicken pieces were okay, and the only thing worth any money at this place was their two salads they had. Me and my friend had a horrible experience at this restaurant and will not recommend anyone to go there, truly I would give them 0 stars but Unilocal won’t let me.

I’m a regular because I live across the street. They have a mix of Pakistani afghan and Persian buffet. I often take it to go by the pound. It’s better for you than fast food. I find the chicken breast is the best thing and also the chicken with rice is very good. The kobideh needs work.

When I saw the words All You Can Eat Kabobs, I had to give it a try. I came in around noon and the place was practically dead. That’s not a good sign. I ordered the buffet and started to dig in. There were lots of choices to choose from. I was looking for skewers of kabobs, but I didn’t see them anywhere. What they do is take them off the skewers and just put them into the hot bar. For the ground beef ones, the just cut them into little pieces. I sampled the different kabobs, chicken, ground beef, and lamb. Then I tried what looked like chicken biriyani. Overall all of these were just plain o.k. nothing fancy. I guess the reason was everything was just barely warm. The kabobs were dried out. I did wait for some fresh meat to come out. When those did come out, they tasted pretty good. I did like that they had different types of hummus. As for the bread, the first batch I had was old, dry, and cold. I asked for new bread and it was made and brought out. They didn’t make too much, just a couple of pieces. They cut them up and put them into a bread box. Overall not too bad. The fresh food I had was actually pretty decent. Not sure if I would try the buffet again. Maybe if the food were hotter and the kabobs were not dry, they would have gotten a higher review.

This place is right next to the Marriott where my job puts people up for training. I Unilocaled the restaurants in the area and listened to people’s recommendation to try to come during the Buffet. This place seriously does not disappoint. For about 13 $ I got as much lamb shank, chicken kabob, spicey chicken thigh kabob, chicken biriyani, basmati rice, jalapeño hummus, greek salad, and rice pudding that I could ever want. The selections change I’m sure but the food was delicious. The place is very mom and pop, no frills, no nonsense. Next time I’m here on business I will absolutely be coming back! This isn’t a place to bring a date or anything. There isn’t a whole lot of style or ambiance really, but if you are in the mood for some solid food come here.

My husband and I eat lunch at Shishkabob Express about once a week. The food is always fresh and delicious. They have the juiciest kabobs around. We went in for dinner a couple weeks back. We arrived. 20 minutes before the dinner buffet closed. Although there was still food on the buffet, the owner didn’t think it was fresh enough, so he had the cook make us new food. You definitely get great food and friendly service. If you are there more than twice, the smiling girl at the register will remember you, but even if you are new, she treats you like you are an old friend.

I’m not lovin’ it… definitely a first and last check in. Cuisine: Afghan not Persian Negative signs: –I arrived to order takeout at 6pm-ish and the place was EMPTY –I was encouraged to purchase food from the buffet instead of the take out menu… Umm, WHY would I want to purchase food that probably been out since the lunch buffet? –LIMITED menu items offered… I attempted to order an appetizer, but told it was not available. Also, the only side item available at the time were chick peas. I don’t love chick peas. –Staff was too busy disagreeing with one another(the cook was yelling in Spanish at the poor lady who rung me up) to notice the only other customer that arrived other than me… I translated the disagreement for the other patron who was interested in the contents of the argument. The Food: Ehh… it was«aiight»… not bad, but well… I prefer: Moby Dick, Rose Kabob, Shamshiry, or Ravi Kabob.

Folks this is a 5 star buffet. I like buffets but it’s rare you ever find a middle eastern style buffet in this area. For $ 10 you get a buffet that includes 2 different salad choices, yogurt, fresh bread, grilled beef and chicken choices, a few different dishes such as curry chicken and a dessert choice. You can’t go wrong with that. The staff is also super friendly. I have yet to try their dinner buffet, but they advertise it has more choices so I will check it out soon!

It was Mom and Son date night and I, like most people, are hesitant to eat at a place where every single table is empty during prime dinner hours. That feeling resonated as soon as my Mom and I walked in to find that there wasn’t a single person eating here… at 6:30pm, which we can all agree is during prime dinner rush hours. Part of me was ready to turn around and leave and I could tell by the look on my Mom’s face that she felt the same. But we decided to stay because this place recently re-opened under new management. The food was suprisingly great and my Mom agreed. We ordered the Lamb Kabob platter and Kubideh(Spicy Beef) Kabob platter. We both love spicy food so we requested that they kick up the spiciness a notch for the Kubideh Kabob and they gladly accommodated… it packed a flavorful punch. The naan was quite nice as well. I did find it a bit odd that the guy that brought our food out was wearing headphones that were blasting music, but he was still nice and the food was pretty darn good so I can easily disregard that. I also noticed a sign that they have a Lunch buffet so I’ll have to give that a try when I’m back in the area. Definitely a great find and happy we ended up staying.
