Not one complaint. Great atmosphere, excellent food and wonderful service. Our party of 5 came in at 12 and it was fairly dead(probably due to snowstorm). We ordered the grape leaves and the salmon and filet mignon kabob and it was all phenomenal. The filet was beyond delicious. We will absolutely be coming back, and frequently! :)

I don’t understand the bad reviews of this place. I use to live in Herndon and ate here all the time — the staff is very friendly and the kabob was always consistently good. I loved the chicken kabob on bread(the chicken juiced would soak into the bread… so good). One of the best places to get a quick and filling lunch at.

Came in around 11:30 yesterday for a work lunch. Cashier and staff were very friendly and patient, despite being a large party. The layout of the restaurant itself was a little awkward for seating a large group of people– long rows of tables/booths, very little seating that was circular, except in their outside seating area(which also looked quite nice). Our food was delivered very quickly, less than 10 minutes. Prices were reasonable, my salad was about 11 bucks. I ordered a mediterannean greek salad with chicken, which was very good overall and huge portion. One critique would be that the tomatoes on the salad were exceptionally mushy/gross. But, it is November as well. and the salad overall was very good. They also gave us some free pita bread, with a very good tzatziki sauce. Definitely recommend for a casual lunch with a smaller group of people. Look forward to coming back and trying their wraps.

I was in the area on a work assignment and decided to venture out to find some lunch with a couple colleagues. As I entered the shopping plaza, Sorrento caught my eye… but not for the reasons you would think. The signage confused me… the name is Sorrento, but it had«Mediterranean» underneath it. I think the place might have identity crisis — an Italian name serving Lebanese type of food. Nonetheless, I love Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food and there were no objections so we thought to give it a try. It’s a casual walk-up counter type place with wonderful Mediterranean aromas permeating throughout the air.(I was somewhat concerned about it sticking to my clothes, but I left unscathed.) I decided on the Mediterranean Salad(so original, I know) with Kubideh meat(seasoned ground beef kabob). I didn’t want anything too heavy that would lead to any sort of food coma. My colleagues got a kabob platter and a kabob wrap. The guys at the register were nice and gave us a plate of warm pita on the house which was a nice gesture. My salad was huge and the Kubideh was full of flavor. It’s every bit worth the 10 bucks I spent on it. Overall, food was great and the service was quick and friendly which are all the makings of a solid lunch. No real criticisms other than the fear of food smells sticking to your clothes if you stay there for for an extended period. I was there for about 30 minutes, so it was fine. I’d pick lunch up here again as it has a great bang-for-buck value.

I used to live/work nearby and would come here often for lunch/dinner. It is a nice and convenient place to grab food but it can get very crowded during lunch time. Their portions are good, prices decent and the food has consistently been of good quality. I’ve tried various things from their menu and my favorite has been ground beef kabob which is what I would recommend to anyone who would want to try something here for the first time. If you prefer spicy food or if you want to season your meal a bit, then their spicy sauce is excellent(it is really spicy)! I tried their felafels once and was disappointed because they tasted like they were of the frozen variety. In their defense, very few restaurants actually get it right. Some of the daily specials are worth trying as well, if you’re feeling adventurous. My favorite is the Lamb Stew with yellow peas, which they have on Tuesdays. I’ve only been disappointed once when I ordered the lamb shank and the smell was so strong that it was hard to eat. Note that this was only once; there were other times before this when I tried the lamb shank and it was really good. Overall, Sorrento is worth a shot, and the best restaurant to eat from in that little shopping center.

I’ve come here many a time during the lunch time rush. I think this place has mastered the way of how to handle starving, overworked, corporate types — the food always comes out timely and correct. I think the food is pretty so-so. I typically get the chicken kabob, and it’s fine. I think they overdo it on the rice though. I don’t understand why some kabob places are so intent on giving a pound of rice with only one or two skewers of meat. Many people end up just throwing it away. I’d much rather have more meat and less of the silly extras. One thing that concerns me — the prices are rather low for meat entrees, so I feel like the quality may not be all that great(mainly the specials). And just across the board, the pricing seems odd to me — like why would a low-carb entrée(without bread or rice) be the same price as a normal entrée? Bottom line: this place is simply okay. Nothing special about it. If you’re craving kabobs, I’d go elsewhere unless you’re on a time crunch.

It’s a divey takeout restaurant atmosphere that’s basically takeout with booths and tables. I order the lamb and beef kubideh. I learned I am not a fan of kubideh which is a ground beef kabob. The lamb was tender and tasty. I liked the red pepper hummus and bread and the rice was delicious. I would’ve been happier if the beef and lamb were seasoned a bit better and if the red pepper hummus had a little more flavor to it. Overall certainly a good restaurant and one that I would go to again if I was staying at the nearby lodging again.

Nope, nope, nope! Even though the food was so-so, it was tough ordering it because the workers’ English is so bad. Took forever to get the order right. The food was very slow to come out, and its was really dirty inside. I was literally swatting flies away the entire time I was trying to eat. The drink selection is also limited, and everything is served on/in Styrofoam. Nah thanks.

I like Sorrento Grill a lot, but they don’t have very good options for people that can’t eat white rice/white flour. I wish they offered brown rice! I would eat here a lot more if they did. Their salmon kabobs and grilled vegetables are great, so a couple times a year I’ll order it to go and then bring it home and make my own brown rice. My husband really likes the lamb and kubideh. All in all, a pretty good place for a nice casual Mediterranean meal.

I ordered the Chicken and Kubideh Kabob platter with rice and really enjoyed it. Chicken was very tender and well seasoned. Beef Kubideh was also very good. I love Saffron rice and theirs was good. The quality of the food is far above its presentation on styrofoam plates with plastic utensils. I think they’d be well served by moving to real plates and utensils.

I try very hard to be fair when judging small family owned type restaurants/businesses because I am one of them. However, this place lacked the personal touch of a family owned business unless I’m just wrong and they’re not family owned. Whatever the case, it started off on the wrong foot and I can’t seem to look pass it. I walked up to the counter to try and place my order. I told the guy that it was my first time there and wanted to know what was their specialty. He didn’t really seem to care much nor was he enthusiastic about helping a newbie out. He just muttered if I wanted salad or rice plate so I said a rice plate please. He pointed to a chicken and rice plate and said that would be their biggest seller. Really? Chicken & rice at a Mediterranean restaurant… I would assume people come for the beef or the lamb. Any way, I notice that there was a special, the lamb stew with basmati rice, on the wall and asked if that was still available and he said«yeah»…ok, I’ll have that then and a bottle of water. I’m not sure if it’s normal to expect tip before you give service, but I didn’t leave a tip on the credit card on purpose. I prefer to leave tips in cash when you have to pay for your food in advance because I can’t actually base the tip amount off of anything at this point other than him taking my order. So, of course, he makes a comment in Tagalog about the fact that I didn’t leave a tip to the lady behind the counter. Go figure! The order took about 2 minutes to make. I had barely paid, walked to my table and he calls out«your special is ready!» I walk back to grab my tray and notice there weren’t any utensils on my tray so I asked him where I can get them and he points to the area where they leave them out for you to help yourself. So, if a person gives me the bare minimal in service, yet expects a tip and still expects me to get my own utensils and bus my own tray… what am I tipping him for? Just to be nice… I’m sorry. I do not train my servers to be rude to customers just because they didn’t leave a tip. If I tip the guy who drives the shuttle for loading & unloading my luggage, I will tip a server, but he was not a server to say the least. The service was so bothersome that the food didn’t even compensate for the 4-star Unilocal rating. It was just ok, at the very best. Nothing to write home about, that’s for sure… definitely not coming here again!

BLAND! That is the title of my review… BLAND I say. I read some good reviews here and I’m here to say the good ones are nuts. Unless I’m missing something this place is not worth the return trip. It wasn’t bad, it was just bland. The was a black hole of flavor, no amount of sumac could bring it to life. The chicken was mediocre at best, no seasoning. The onion and tomato were undercooked, should have been grilled better, especially the onion. Who eats raw onion? I will not go back again. Moby Dick, who people compare it with is far superior. The rice at Moby is awesome, so flavorful and delicious. Moby’s chicken is marinated and grilled to perfection. Tomatoes are always perfectly grilled. Sorrento’s bread was good, the tzaziki sauce was way too thick. I’ve lived in the middle east and know my kabab. Sorrento is not good.

Massive portions on the kebab entrees. Tasty. Red meat is cooked well if you don’t specify. Definitely worth a taste if you’re in the neighborhood. The pita bread is cooked to order and served hot. Don’t let it sit as it will get chewy. The entrees are fairly priced, but I found the tabouleh appetizers to be a bit overpriced at $ 4.95. It’s just cracked wheat, parsley, herbs, tomato, etc. I’d like the option of substitiuting the mound of rice on the entrée for a side such as tabouleh, hummus, etc.

Needed a kebab fix and this is one of the places near the house we like. Cooked to order so take that into account. Love the options for low carb that they have. Hidden is pickled veggies on the side menu. Tasty to add to your order. For us a combo of two kebabs is perfect to share!

Solid four stars, the place is a but unassuming, but worth a chance. The chicken and steak wraps I have tried were were a great value for the price and the bread was great and freshly made. The red pepper hummus was good, but seemed a bit dry though.

We stopped in here for a quick lunch. I ordered a Chicken Kabob/Salad combination — low carb(no rice or bread). So they give you extra vegetables. Food was cooked to order — so it was not as «quick» as we were hoping for. But it was tasty!

I love Sorrento Grill, but it confuses me. At lunchtime, they are SOBUSY, I can hardly stand to wait. However, come 6PM or later, the place is deserted except for people picking up carry-out, the Frank Sinatra satellite radio station is playing, and it’s as though they’re staying open just for us. That’s cool. It doesn’t scare me away, and it shouldn’t scare you away, either. Trust me. I appreciate the fact that, with your order, you are always promptly served(at no charge) a plate of fresh, piping-hot flat bread with two small cups of a tzatziki-style sauce, and it’s so tasty. We also normally order a side of hummus, which is served in two huge olive-topped scoops, with even more fresh bread! They have a great variety of salad plates, kabobs, platters, etc. My personal favorites are the Grilled Chicken with Saffron Pearl Couscous and the Mediterranean Salad with Grilled Chicken or Grilled Shrimp. I don’t know what it is about their chicken, but it is always so juicy, tender, and well-seasoned. Spice Fiend also likes the Trappey’s Hot Sauce on every table, which plays very nicely with the grilled meats.
