The food is delicious mainly lobster cone, fish tacos and chicken flat bread. The customer service is good.

Delicious and fun experience here for a friend’s birthday and would highly recommend it! I really loved the idea and set up of the restaurant and our waiter was super awesome and attentive. The food is like american tapas — which is nice because I was in search of an American tapas place in the northern va area, so glad we have one! So the setup is like an open kitchen right in the middle of the bar, and tables are set up all around it so everybody can enjoy meal and drinks at the bar. There were five of us and we ordered about 7 – 8 dishes to share. The portions are a perfect sharing size for a group and they don’t skimp at all. The standouts were the flatbread, crab salad lettuce wraps, the dip platter and the lobster cones. Just wish the lobster cones was a little less mayo so I can taste more of the lobster. I’m looking forward to come back and trying more items. Our waiter was super awesome! Wish I remembered his name but he looked like pharrel! He checked up on us frequently and made sure to keep our area clean and ready for our next plates. He even cut our friends birthday cake for her and was so cool about taking numerous pictures for us. Great place, staff and food!

First time at a kitbar(kitchen bar), so I can’t really compare that specific aspect to other restaurants of the same. But I brought the lady friend here for Vday during brunch. The food being made to order was a plus, which made the service overall more efficient in my opinion. Worth coming back for.

The food is phenomenal. Might be the best in the Herndon/Reston area. A tad pricey but completely worth it. The Clocktower Shopping Center is lucky to have it. Stone’s Cove could easily thrive somewhere in RTC, Arlington, or D.C. It has a unique kitbar concept and is clean with a modern vibe. I like to get the chili, naked wings, Mackinac flatbread, or French dip. But everything is good. The brunch menu doesn’t disappoint either. Plus it’s owned by a fellow Michigan State alum. Go Green!

Interesting & tasty. Great place for lunch. DC prices in the burbs, but good.

Perhaps the best Chicken Cobb Salad ever!($ 12) Their grilled chicken is soooo juicy and moist! I haven’t ventured too much into the other entrees because I love this salad so much. But I have tried the seared Ahi Tuna appetizer, Smore’s flatbread dessert, and their Jalapeño Chicken Salad(the mayonnaise kind), and they were all pretty decent. But try the Cobb Salad for lunch — you won’t regret it!

OK bar environment. Very nice and proactive service. Was disappointed with the quality of the food. Vegetables were extremely salty and dinner hamburger came with a bag of chips which seemed odd. Would avoid coming back.

Let me just start off by saying I’m only giving it 4 stars because I didn’t like my fish tacos. My husband loved them but he’s not writing the review so. I just didn’t like the apple slaw on top, i thought it just drowned out the fish and left everything just tasting bland to me. I loved the blackened cod, however, when I tasted it alone. There was also an issue with my sirloin sliders. One was too rare for me, and after I bit into it, I realized they never asked how we’d like it cooked. The ones that were medium, I loved. There were caramelized onions on top that was sweet and super tasty. The Lobster Cones were really good. I’ve never tasted lobster the way it was mixed, kind of like a tuna salad. But the best part were the sesame cones and the guac they have filling the bottom of the cone. It was sooo good! The Reuben flatbread was super tasty. And I normally hate regular coleslaw but with this dish it worked and it wasn’t overly sweet. They used the slaw in lieu of the sauerkraut. And lastly the soup of the day was Lobster Bisque and it was outstanding. I get lobster bisque everywhere I go, and I love they give you toppings to put in the soup. I used the green onions and the cherrie cream and a few of the sesame croutons. It also came with fresh tomato, but I found that flavor didn’t really go. The bowl is nice a deep, the crockery style and it’s a healthy portion. The service and atmosphere were both stellar. The drinks were super tasty. And next time I think we’ll definitely sit at the kitbar. Oh and the best part we spent less than $ 100 bucks! I couldn’t even believe that with all the food and drinks we had that night. Win!

Last night’s dinner was excellent! Creole shrimp is always delicious and on point, we also tried the upside down meatloaf cupcakes and they were so good! They had some kind of bbq tasting sauce on top that I loved. My husband and dad both got the french dip which came with the usual au jus as well as a delicious jalapeño sauce! The jalapeño sauce had the tiniest bit of a bite but not enough to be considered spicy. I got the Mackinac flatbread with steak, it was absolutely delicious! They also make a pear flower martini that is out of this world, and this is coming from a martini hater! I also tried the prickly pear margarita, but honestly that just tasted like a regular margarita to me, which is fine but the pear flower was definitely the winner!

They have no high chairs or booster seats, they just lost cool points… as we sit here with at least four tables of children with their families. Smh.

I don’t really write reviews — especially not mean ones — but this place was so hilariously bad that I can’t help but share the experience. My colleague and I walked in and there were barely a few people in the place on a Tuesday around 6:30 or so. The hostess asked us if we had reservations. Really? the place is practically empty. And we were there until 8:30 or so(not by choice) and the place never filled up. Once we established that no, we didn’t have a reservation, she proceeded to walk us to what we thought would be a table but she actually just sat us at the bar. We asked if there’s any way we could get an actual table and she said no, they have a large party coming later. But maybe we could sit in a booth? So we did. My colleague ordered a light beer and they brought him an IPA. After he very nicely asked if they were sure that was a light beer, the server went back to the bar and came back with a chilled glass. We didn’t ask for a chilled glass, we asked for the right beer that my colleague ordered. Eventually someone came out with a bottled beer to make sure we got the right thing. So no tap beer for us. And then we waited. After about a 15 minute wait, we finally waved over another server who said«you’re ready to order already??». Well, considering we’ve been there half an hour already, I would say yes. We got the wings and those were good. That accounts for one of the stars. The other star is for the ambiance of the place which is nice despite the fact that they turned the lights way down at some point which was weird. We did ask for ranch dressing for the wings but they brought us blue cheese. Twice. I ordered the cran-raisin salad with shrimp but the shrimp was so salty and coated in a thick layer of spice that it was basically inedible. We waited some more for our check and were on our way. It was all so bad it was almost funny.

Fun and casual food option for the area! I love the open kitchen concept and layout of the restaurant, where most of the seating surrounds the bar /area where they cook and serve you. The service is excellent, attentive and very friendly, however the food is just alright. We went on «Local Monday», so of course, we sampled and got hard cider. We also ordered the Mackinac flatbread and naked wings to share. The flatbread consists of an abundance of guacamole, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheddar, and jalapeño mayo. It was good dish, but I wish the flatbread itself was crispier to balance out the creaminess and softness of the toppings. Besides the flatbread, all the other portions seem small and not worth the price. The ambience is lively and can get pretty noisy. The waiters are also always checking up on you, so if you’re looking for a quiet environment, this is not the place for you. If I do come back, I’ll be sure to try the lobster cones and the hot and cold dips! Edit: didn’t feel like writing an updated review because I still stand with my ~3−3.5 star rating. I came back to try the lobster cones and they were good but I don’t think they were worth the $ 14. Everything overall is pretty pricey, but if you want to splurge, I’d recommend the portobello flatbread with shrimp. It’s an additional $ 8, but the shrimp makes a difference in taste!

This place was pretty cool! The design of this restaurant was very new to me. The service was pretty good; however, the way the bar and the tables were set up was kind of inconvenient for the servers because they had to reach over everything and people. The food was pretty good — I got everything I expected. All of the food was pretty fresh and light which was nice. I, my dad, and a friend got the lobster cones, the fish tacos, the Mackinac, and the shrimp & grits. I liked how you could see how most of the food was prepared. Nice place to try something new!

Went here on a Monday night. The service was outstanding, and the bar was packed. Very interesting concepts, such as a s’more flatbread and your waiter also being your cook. Seriously. The guy who took my order was also making the food. So you basically get a front row seat from the island-style bar with the«open kitchen» in the center of the island. Some of the prep work is done in the back but most of the dishes are prepared in the center of the wrap-around bar, including the grilled menu, so you will leave smelling like the kitchen. The menu is seasonal. I went with the summer Cobb salad and the burger. Both were delicious. Michael gave such good service, I asked to talk to his boss so I could give him praise. ½ off bottles of wine on Wednesdays. A third location is supposedly opening up in Maryland soon.

Came here while visiting DC. Pros: –Spinach artichoke was very good –the lobster roll was good and they were generous on the amount of lobster but a bit expensive –roasted seasoned corn was delicious –the sour cream and chives potato chips are good –the service was friendly Cons: –a bit overpriced –the utensils and plates were very dirty(had to send some plates back)

What a fun place! Richard, one of the managers, took care of us right away at 11AM on a Saturday morning. He had great suggestions and got us taken care of right away. We ordered the flatbread, breakfast tacos, and banana French toast. The winner of the morning was the flat bread, so hot so warm so fresh! The toasty bread on the bottom, sausage gravy, awesome potatoes, and sunny side eggs on top. It was perfect! The French toast tasted like dessert, so sweet and very tasty. The tacos weren’t bad, but the other meals were so much better and blew them out of the water. The bar is all around the kitchen, so you can see them work which was cool. 10⁄10 would go again to eat, to hang out with Richard or to try one of the cooking classes they had in the back.

Before going to Kitbar, it’s important to understand exactly what the concept is supposed to be. From their website: «KitBar combines the design of a kitchen and a bar to create one large communal table that surrounds the restaurant’s kitchen, putting guests right in the middle of the action. Our founder got the idea from parties he has hosted, noticing that partygoers naturally congregated in the kitchen where the food and drinks were being prepared.» In theory, it’s a great idea. In reality, it doesn’t work. It’s not one large communal table. It’s many little tables, sticking out at weird angles, surrounding what is a flat top, convection ovens and what looks like crock pots keeping food warm. It’s a not kitchen. What is supposed to be it’s main attraction is a distraction. Watching the cook – or Cheftender as they call them – pulling saran wrapped packets of roast beef from a fridge, and then put them into a warming crock, is not appetizing. I also saw another cook pull tiny pucks of meatloaf from a fridge and heat them in an oven similar to the one Subway uses. The prices are reasonable, but the portions are small. My shrimp and grits was listed as an entrée, but it was more an appetizer portion than an entrée portion. The food is decent. It’s tasty. Everything we had was flavorful but salty and processed tasting. The food is very similar to most any chain restaurant you’ve been to. The menu attempts to be creative, but nothing will surprise you. Kitbar is a typical chain restaurant masquerading as a unique dining experience.

Unique! Make a reservation, however, known they are quite militant about the time. We book a 7 pm reservation and arrived early, 11 minutes apparently as we were told we had to wait 11 minutes to be seated? The restaurant was about half full? But once seated we were so engaged that our first poor impression was but a memory. The food was good, and drinks great. But the staff, oh the staff, was INCREDIBLE! Everyone behind the bar was AMAZING. A perfect symphony of service and execution! Everything was good, you can’t go wrong here.

This is such an interesting restaurant. It has an open space concept and the kitchen is located in the center. There is bar seating surrounding the kitchen, which doesn’t actually look like your standard kitchen. I prefer to sit here so you can watch them out together the food. And there are hooks underneath the bar where you can hang your purse so they don’t have to sit on the ground. Yay! I also like to see what other people are getting. The service was great and there was always some asking if you needed anything else. The menu isn’t huge, but the food is delicious! Last night when we ate there, the restaurant was promoting Barrel Oak Winery, which I definitely like. We ordered 2 appetizers and shared. My favorite was the French dip sandwiches. We also had this s’mores flatbread which was awesome! It’s the perfect dessert to finish off the meal. This is a great date spot.

It’s Dec 1 and some new yummy items on the menu… Muffaletta Flatbread a great version on a New Orleans classic.(We tried this and it was FANTASTIC!) We did suggest maybe adding a sprinkling of olives on the top. Interesting to see if this gets added. Winter Feast sounds great. Combo of seasoned and seared sirloin w shrimp, island hopper chicken kabobs, green beans, and horseradish mashed potatoes. Blackened Mahi Mahi with jicama apple slaw, Ranchero black beans, mango salsa, roasted red pepper coulis and tomatillo sauce Hubby tried some mocktails.. these guys were great in converting things. Daniel S. is a amazing mixologist. Glad we chatted about our needs… Fav was a cucumber and basil martini. Would be amazing with alcohol. He also tried their ginger beer. If you like ginger then it’s a must try. Hanging at the low table… enjoying lunch!
