I was in the mood for lunch while running errands around Herndon. On a whim, I checked out Unilocal to look for other places to eat besides my usual go to spots. I read up the reviews for Touchdown Deli and I was good to go. The location is in an industrial park and little out of the way for most usual traffic. Nothing much to it… basic from the outside and straight forward on the inside with a wide selection of salads, wraps and sandwiches listed on the menu. The interior on my visit was clean and presentable. There is enough room and seating is plentiful if eating in. The service was basic yet polite and accommodating. I ordered the Touchdown steak and cheese with a side order of fries(do not expect a Philly style cheese steak). The sandwich was served up hot and nicely wrapped with a side order of crinkle fries. I was good to go. The sizable sandwich, generous fries and drink came in under $ 10. I am giving my review a 3 star rating for my first time visit. I found a small hair in my fries but nothing to really fuss over. I think I need to swing by on future visits and try some of the other items.

Just got back from my second visit to Touchdowns. This time I skipped the burger(even though it was really good) and got the Caesar Salad, I was honestly expecting something disgusting and just thrown everywhere. But to my surprise it was a good size salad with grilled chicken and croutons. The salad leaves it self was the freshest, most refreshing leaves ever. I am sure the salad would have tasted better if I would have put dressing on it but I totally forgot to, it was still good though. As for CUSTOMERSERVICE, I know it can get busy during lunch and all but what’s with the attitude from the people behind the counter? They make everything so awkward. Yelling at the customer because they couldn’t hear you call out to come get their Sandwich? And then making a face at the customer as he walks away after he sincerely apologized? HOWUNPROFESSIONAL. I have seen bad customer service before but this is just childish. C’om!

Stopped by for lunch today and had the steak and cheese sandwich. Typical deli style join, nothing special with the décor. Steak and cheese sandwich was good, but not great. Service was good, did not have to wait long for food. Close to work so I will visit again for lunch.

Small family run deli that offers boars meat deli sandwiches, fresh salads and fruit and a variety of sides and beverages. The staff is super nice here and after visiting a few times they were already remembered my Order. Quiet place to grab lunch.

For good lunch food, visit this spot. They have the most DELICIOUS Steak and Cheese & Chicken Bravo Sandwich(Grilled Chicken, Cheese, Avocado, Sprouts, lettuce tomato, bacon) and their crinkle fries pair so well with their honey mustard. I work around the block so I go here as much as my waistband allows!!! The only downside is they’re closed on the weekends when I tend to crave their food the most and the overall décor which is incredibly dated. But, who goes to a deli for the décor anyways!!!

I take some customers in here for lunch frequently. They are in the complex. Everything is fresh and the owners are behind the counter. They remember everyone’s name and keep a very busy lunch crowd orderly and moving. Good salads, wraps, subs… And always with a smile. It’s a weird spot for non-locals, but I’d highly recommend them. Also a market.

Decent food(hot and cold sandwiches, wings, salads) at a decent price. I’m a fan of their ham and mozzerella panini. They also have a good variety of drinks in their cooler and a small section of sundries. The TV stays tuned to ESPN, which is a nice touch for a lunch break from the office.

Was told this was a pretty good deli, and the special of the day happened to be one of my favorites, Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Well I paid $ 8 for it and it came with fries so not that terrible of a deal. The people are nice but the wrap was really sad. The buffalo sauce was nowhere to be seen and it lacked flavor. Had American cheese instead of blue cheese. The only redeeming quality was the fries which were just frozen crinkle cut fries. I’ll give this place one more shot but def not getting that wrap.

Let’s be honest here — Unless you work down Towerview Road or any of the nearby adjacent roads, you’re not going to go to Touchdown Deli. It’s a small little eatery stuffed amongst the various office parks, they’re only open Monday through Friday from 6:00AM to 3:00PM(seasonally on Saturdays from 9:00AM to 1:00PM — Whatever that means), it’s out of the way, and it’s relatively unknown. However, if you do happen to be working in this area, then give the place a fair chance. They make really good food, and all of it is prepared to order — Nothing is pre made, even the salads. In addition to selling sandwiches(hot or cold), burgers, and salads, this place also has a few shelves of convenient store based snacks such as chips, cookies, etc., and a wide variety of drinks. I personally like to get their chicken parmesan sub, but then have them hold the sauce and cheese and make it into a crispy chicken sandwich. That’s good eating right there. You also can’t go wrong with their burgers, and the onion rings and fries aren’t bad either. However, in the long run, this is just deli food, and it’s prone to be greasy, and probably isn’t good for you. So health nuts should probably go for the salads, or avoid it all together. I’ve been coming to this place for many years now(back when they only took cash — they take credit cards now), and am really glad to see that it’s still around. The food is tasty and the people working there are friendly, and always accommodating. If you’re in the area, give them a try.

Small place that is off the beaten path. Good Boar’s Head meats. My turkey panini with French fries was delicious. Definitely a local little dive with good eats for Fair a price!

Stopped in here for lunch on the way to the office. I’m assuming the name of this place harkens back to a time in days of yesteryear when Redskins Park used to be located right around the corner. Nowadays, the only real reference to football that I could see in this place was a set of older Redskins pictures hanging over the windows. For lunch, I ordered their Italian cold cut sub — an 8″ sub with three kinds of meats, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onions, and hot peppers — plus a bag of my favorite potato chips: Route 11 Mama Zuma’s Revenge Habanero potato chips, a dill pickle spear, and a bottle of water. The bread served with the sub was excellent — it had a nice crusty, crunchy exterior crust, and was chewy on the inside. This sub is partially heated — and the flavors were excellent! The staff were very friendly. Food came up quickly! This place is a bit dated — the two TVs need to be replaced — both are really old analog style TVs — very hard to watch. They need to be replaced with HD TVs.

Not a bad deli. They’ve got all the normal selections that a deli should have. Their hamburger sub is pretty good, as is their steak and cheese. Cold subs are decent, but I tend to always get one of their hot subs. They’ve got a good selection of chips and drinks to choose from. Ladies behind the counter are always very friendly, and the place seems to be clean. It is also nice to eat there since it has a lot of windows that overlook trees off to the left of the establishment.

If you want more grease with your grease, then by all means travel down to the Touchdown Deli! A staple of the mouthbreathers that work in this hellhole of an industrial center, the Touchdown Deli serves a wide variety of greasy sandwiches. Do you need more grease with your greasy grease? The fine ladies at Touchdown Deli will be more than happy to serve you one of their Greasy Runny Omelettes, Greasy Cheesesteak Sandwiches, or Greasy Heart-Attack Inducing French Fries. Today I was without my car, and I was forced to head over to Touchdown Deli for a lunch I was sure to regret. Lo and behold, Touchdown Deli had sushi! I knew it was a bad idea from the start, but I felt it had to be better than a ladle of grease in my face. As Lex Luthor said in Superman Returns, «WRONG!». I ate one bite of the«sushi» and tossed it in the trashcan. The wasabi paste looked oddly like goose shit. It was impossible to tell the rice apart, as it had congealed into one solid white mass. I’ll go hungry and get a real dinner at home tonight. Unless you’re a greasy truck driver, and this place is filled with them, I would say avoid at all costs.

I eat here, but only because I have too(close proximity to the office). Greasy food, produced from frozen and otherwise preserved ingredients. Strange sandwiches, little healthy selections, and those that are healthy – such as the grilled chicken sub – are made unhealthy through the preparation techniques(greasy, too much mayo, cooked via flat-top w/grease instead of on a true grill-top, no whole grain sub-roll options, etc…). It’s nice in a pinch, but don’t go out of your way.

You’ve got to really be looking to find this Deli. It’s near the intersection of McLearen Rd & Route 28 in an office/industrial park. A decent selection of the usual suspects. They have a hot food line and they also serve breakfast. A cooler full of bottled beverages and a soda dispenser. They also serve Green Mountain brand of coffee. There is some connection to the Redskins since they are quite a number of black & white signed photos of Redskin players during the Gibbs era. I had the Ruben, it was good.
