A hidden gem. The definition of a hole in the wall! These are the best crepes I’ve ever had. There is always a decent wait until you’re served, though.

This was a great find. I had a savory crêpe and a sweet crêpe. Both were excellent. I would definitely go back!

Crepes taste good, but are not filled very full. and the fillings are not warm, only the outside of the crêpe is.bummer.

Why, oh why, would you use(and keep) chipped plates? I could understand your not matching chairs, but oh, so very unprofessional to serve the crepes on chipped plates. And for a bistro, or a French bistro for that matter — I imagine French bistro that sells crepes in France would be very elegant and classy, but that is not the case! Missed the place while driving to find it. Parking is very limited, and so is seating. Crepes, especially the savory ones were better as the sweet ones were just regular. Nice, courteous service from the server, but service was slooooooow(one server, and cook nailed it), but that could always change. I had better experience with ABL on 3rd St in Harrisburg. You could have done better, ABL of Hershey!

The crepes are good. The atmosphere is quaint & prices are reasonable. The only thing I would change is for the décor to be updated & it not feel like I’m in someone’s house. Also if the staff could be a bit more social & enthusiastic.

After moving into my apartment, the bf and I were super hungry. I love French crepes so we decided to check them out. So glad we did! We ordered 2 vegetarian savory crepes(#19, #21) and a sweet one(#43 dark chocolate with blueberries) to share. It’s a small place, so I wouldn’t walk in with a party of 20. The server was friendly. Food was great and very reasonably priced. Already plan on going back with friends :)

Best kept secret in Hershey! Savory crepes are enough for a meal by themselves, and the selection of sweet crepes is sure to please!

Good crepes, terrible service. The waiter handed us a note pad, and the menu, without saying a word then disappeared. After taking our own orders, I never got my coffee. We then had to get up and ask for our check because no one ever came back after we got out food. The kitchen is open, and it feels like you’re in someone’s living room, not in a charming sense. We really wanted to like this place.

Well, let’s look past the ambiance(non-existent) and the EXTREMELY slow service and go straight to the crepes. Several people had told me that the crepes here were great, so when Hershey Pantry wasn’t open for breakfast this(Sunday) morning, I decided it was the perfect opportunity to check out Au Bön Lieu. So, there was a large table available with 4 chairs and there were 5 of us. The«server» looked at us and said«I guess it will be a little bit of a wait». We looked around and found a chair and made our own 5 top. After filling out our order on an order pad, and having to deliver it to the guy since he didn’t stop by, 1 hour passed before we got our crepes. They were okay. The savory crepes definitely seem to be the way to go, but the fruit crepes leave a lot to be desired. The crêpe itself was a little dried out and cold. Fillings were pretty light… I definitely would have expected more. Overall, totally edible, but not worth a repeat visit. Maybe if they could get the crepes out much more quickly(like less than 20 minutes) I would go back, but to wait an hour for a cold, dried out mediocre crêpe? I don’t think so.

Have been here twice now, and have left extremely pleased both times. The workers are friendly and informative, while not being over bearing. The environment is cozy and family friendly. The food speaks for itself, absolutely fantastic. It took about an hour and a half for a family of four to each get a savory crêpe and a sweet one for dessert, but it is well worth the wait. The chalkboard tables are also really neat! This place is officially on my list of go to’s while in the Hershey area.

The likes: this place is all about the food, I was highly impressed by the savory crapes. The sweet crapes were pretty standard, I had the blueberry powdered sugar crapes. My wife had the roasted red pepper and avocado grapes with chicken. I liked how they were able to accommodate our party of eight immediately. Also they made a cappuccino which exceeded my expectations, especially for small town Pennsylvania. The dislikes: the space is very modest, there wasn’t much parking available, and the service was a little shitty. The server was nice, just had trouble remembering things that we asked for. Also it took about half an hour and our second round of crepes wasn’t ready so we just cancel them in. At the end of the day, my overall experience was a good one and I’m now turned on to savory crepes.

Great start … Romantic luncheon Scary middle … Loud griping about the value of a dessert crêpe vs pizza next door Hasty get away … TMI, customer gripes parallel change in ownership Conclusion … It’s no Friendly’s

Excellent crepes. Friendly service. Great variety. Fresh ingredients. I love the turkey avacado roasted red pepper crêpe(#13) adding Brie and egg on top. The dark chocolate varieties are wonderful of course. The fruit is always fresh and ripe. Only suggestion to make this five stars is faster service during peak hours. Staff accordingly. We waited an hour to be served on a Sunday around noon.

I’ve had crepes a number of places including diners, food trucks, and novelty events, but never have I had a crêpe from a place which boasts«French Authenticity». After sampling 4 crepes here one morning, 2 of the savory variety and 2 for dessert, I can honestly say most places aren’t far off the mark when it comes to making these. However, the edge certainly does go to Au Bön Lieu, which is appropriately named«at the right place» because it is the right place, for crepes that is. I’m giving them the tip of my hat when it comes to the crêpe because that’s all that they make. All of their culinary skill and prowess is put into these pastries. They have the technique down pat and you can even watch them perform it time and time again as orders are being filled. They have a set of griddles that are specifically designed for preparing crepes and as far as cooking that’s all they use. With the exception of a coffee pot and microwave, from what I saw, everything you order is prepared right here on these hot plates. Crepes, Eggs, everything. And the crêpe making process they use is pretty neat. At a diner, I doubt they have a crêpe griddle. No doubt they pour their batter thin on the grill ending up with a faux crêpe at best, but here it’s different. These little griddles are kept hot, the batter is poured onto the center, and then a little rake is used to thinly spread the mixture evenly across the surface of the stove. With the same ladle and technique being implemented every time, all crepes are created equal. Except for the filling of course. There’s sweet, there’s savory, meat, cheese, and veg. You name it, they’ve creped it. I’m really not sure what the traditional crêpe fillings are, but I was partial to the smoked salmon. It made for a nice twist on lox. The desserts are scrumptious too, so even if you haven’t a soft spot for a meal here, surely you’re sweet tooth will thank you. A quick note on the décor; it’s a very small little café, possible comparable to a real creperie in France? Anyway, a unique feature here are the table tops. They’re chalkboards. Yes, that means you can doodle while you wait. Pretty cool if you ask me. On a final note, I have never been to France. My knowledge of crepes is only based on what I have eaten and what I have eaten resides solely in the states. Still, with a vast menu, trendy setting, and novelty powdered sugar designs atop your dessert(I’ve witnessed Batman so far), for Au Bön Lieu, it’s a oui from me.

I reluctantly came here after being pressured by my best friend to at least give crepes a try. I’m a more plain and simple type of breakfast kind of guy. Eggs and bacon and such. I now must admit I am now a big fan of crepes. Who would have guessed? I like eggs with no dippy! Viva la France!

Yummy yummy crepes! A good find while visiting Hershey park. I had a savory smoked salmon crêpe and a sweet hazelnut crêpe with strawberries and bananas. Good food for a good price. It’s at the back of a mini parking lot. But there’s a larger free parking lot across the street.

Great place for crepes! Cozy and small. Good food, coffee is alright. From my understanding, the place is family owned and relatively new. I enjoyed it very much. There are plenty of sweet and savory options. And you always make your own! It’s a good for vegetarians! In general, the people that work/own the place are very nice and friendly. I Highly recommend this place if you like crepes and want something fresh in Hershey. Other notes– the restaurant is essentially a 2 man operation and as such, expect to wait for a while if it’s packed… Like up to an hr… That being said, if you don’t have time to wait— don’t come here! There are cute chalk tables that you can draw on and entertain yourself :) Don’t mind the haters, the place is worth the wait, at least give it a shot once! Try avoiding the«busy» times! Parking– across the street in the free garage where houlihans and Devon are

Excellent idea, poor execution. We were there for 2 hours. There were four of us. One waitress. One cook. One hour for our first savory crepes. One hour for our sweet. The place can’t hold more than 25 people. Plan accordingly.

You’ve gotta be kidding me right? I’m seriously in awe how this place is 5 stars. I found this place on Unilocal after my boyfriend and I were scoping around for what’s good in town. We’d though it’d be a good place since it was 5 stars and it just recently opened. The place is a bit hard to find, the directions on Unilocal isn’t exactly accurate. Luckily their number works so I called for directions. Eventually I found the place. I was pretty surprised when I walked in. I seriously thought I walked into a take out place or someone’s house. The place was rather casual… Perhaps I had different ideas for what the interior of a creperie would look like but pretty much the layout of the place was messy. Laptops here and there, pretty much a hole in a wall. Not only that, the staff was kids and teenagers running the place. They don’t even take orders, instead each time someone comes in, they serve you water and then hand you the menus and when you’re ready you write down what you want and they’ll make your order according to that. I guess there’s a shortage of staff since the teenager was also doing the cooking. Regardless of the appearance and service I still looked forward to the food, I do fancy crepes every now and then and since I was in Hershey, why not right? I ordered a dark belgian chocolate crêpe with blueberries with strawberries on the side. It was fun watching the crepes being made. The order arrived pretty quickly but I was shocked that it was only 1 strawberry and they would charge you $ 1 for that. I could easily buy ONE strawberry at wholefoods for 10 cents… The crêpe was pretty mediocre. I’ve had better crepes in Paris, New York and San Francisco. I don’t know why it was cold and hard when it was made fresh in front of me. Something must be wrong with the batter… The chocolate tasted pretty standard, I’ve had real belgian chocolate in Brussels but the chocolate here just tasted like regular milk chocolate? Honestly, if it wasn’t for the chalk table tops that was a good time killer while we waited for the food, I’d probably give this place 1 star.

Found this place on Unilocal.Good thing, because it’s a little hard to find as it’s behind some buildings with no sign. Amazing crepes! Probably the best I’ve had. Tried both the savory and the sweet. Atmosphere is a little lacking but crepes were perfect with fresh ingredients and large selection. Service was quick and our waitress was very attentive and nice.
