My wife and I made a special trip to Hershey to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Devon. The seafood was very fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing and cozy. The only reason for 4 stars, and not 5, is because our server, Danyell, was very snippy(appropriately named DanYELL). We heard her act the same with the table behind us, confirming it wasn’t just us! Despite the poor service, we will be back!

Love the ambiance of this place! Our waitress Kelly was super friendly and attentive. She was very knowledgable on all the dishes. We decided to eat the Seafood Mixed grill and it was AMAZING! You need to try it! We also had the Pacific Punch cocktail and it was SOOO good! Definitely will come back when I am in the area.

Shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were tasteless and watery. Filet mignon was dry and tough. Food overpriced and would not go back.

Really recommend going for lunch! The prices are good and you don’t have to worry about reservations. Although the the service started a little slow, another waiter brought us water and cheddar biscuits. Better than red lobsters biscuits of course but they were pretty greasy. We ordered lunch combos each with soup and half an entrée. The lobster bisque is amazing! I could have eaten 10 more bowls no joke. Highly recommend. The clam chowder was good as well. I got fish tacos which were fine. The boyfriend got tempura shrimp sushi which he gave a 7⁄10. Overall we had a really good experience, and will be back eventually for lunch again!

The food was excellent, especially the lobster bisque and lobster Mac and cheese. However, I expected a quieter atmosphere for the price. The dining room was very loud and I could barely hear my table’s conversation.

I would highly recommend making a reservation a few days in advance. We sat at the bar and had a drink and an appetizer as we arrived early. The spicy tuna sushi roll was excellent. We got sat early and almost filled up on the Cheddar biscuits as they were amazing. My wife had the seafood mixed grill which was great. The salmon was done perfectly. I had the 6oz filet medium rare. It came out very rare and lacked flavor. The sides saved the meal as the asparagus and tomato ragout and the lobster mac and cheese tasted delicious. I should have ordered fish.

It was just ok, went down for Restaurant Week at Hershey. This restaurant is owned by Hershey Entertainment and to be honest I was not impressed. First the seating is cramped and the chairs at our table were horrible. Once you sit down you feel like you will fall through to the floor. The lighting in the dining room is dull and boring. The servers are nice, but I feel like I am at Hershey Park with all of the wait staff wearing name tags. The drink prices are very high and outrageous to say the least. I had a Grey Goose and Tonic and was charged $ 10.95. Which for all purposes was slightly watered down more then I like. I did have a Ceasar Salad which was fair followed by the Crab Cakes with Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus. The Crab Cake was very bland and had a very mushy and boring consistency. But it was a Thirty for three deal for the week. I was very eager for this visit but disappointed and just not impressed. Hershey is trying to hard to be fancy with their establishments in regards to food. In my opinion just stick to the amusement park combination. Please lose the Hershey Park name tags in your restaurants it is very tacky…

We’ve dined here a few special occasions and the food is either outstanding or just ok. Our visit this weekend unfortunately fell into the latter category. I generally order a daily featured fish which is typically good and this time was no exception — perfectly cooked and a substantial portion. My husband ordered the Opah off the normal menu, which was overcooked and not flavorful, but a sizable portion. We split the smoked salmon flatbread appetizer, which was decent but not great. When our final bill came for the above + 3 beers, it totaled $ 110. We were overcharged by $ 5 on my husbands entrée, which we didn’t approach with our waitress as we were underwhelmed by the meal and antsy to leave at that point. For $ 110, we expected a much better meal. As always, service was prompt & courteous, and the drink menu extensive(although expensive). I highly suggest reservations — we arrived just after 5:30pm on a Friday and the people in front of us(no RSVP) were told it would be 45+ mins for a bar high-top(much noisier than the restaurant area).

The food was well above average, but my low rating is because our steaks were rare when ordered medium & the service is horribly pretentious for how inattentive it is. My bullet points: * Mediocre, ill-trained service staff(at best) that asks if you’re there celebrating a special event on a Monday night(no … just hungry) & then proceeds to deliver service that’s anything apart from special * Tired décor with booths that are in structural disrepair * Apéritif that commit suicide * Management that does nothing about children who run all over the restaurant & bar while the«parents» dine * No «A» game staff from the moment you walk in the door

Hands down one of our favorite places when looking to have a night out. I love the atmosphere here. If we are just having drinks, or sitting down for dinner, the service is always great. Servers are very knowledgeable about ingredients and we always have a great food. I feel the prices are extremely reasonable for the portion size and quality. If you plan on going Friday or Saturday night I recommend making a reservation :)

JUSTAVOIDTHEFISHANDCHIPS… I love Devons but my co-workers and I went for lunch and I ordered the Fish and chips and it was disgusting. The fish was soggy and tasteless. I normally go for dinner and always get the seafood platter and blackened chicken pasta to split with my husband and its amazing.

I have been meaning to write his review forever! Devon’s is my favorite place in Hershey PA. The shrimp cocktail is OUTOFTHISWORLD. The lobster mac and cheese is TODIEFOR. The steak is always cooked to perfection. Customer service is always pleasant and they are super efficient in seating. I really annoy explain how much I LOVE Devon’s! I even contemplating writing to corporate requesting a Devon’s in New York. Well at least the throwing out the idea lol. If a hire up reads this: bringgggg Devon’s to NY! Please, please, please.

Went to Devon for a nice seafood dinner and very much enjoyed the quality and selection. I had the seared scallops with risotto and my boyfriend had swordfish. We would definitely recommend and will be going back.

Nice spot in the middle of the Hershey campus. We were in town and met customers for lunch. I reserved the booth about a week early and requested something away from the crowd and quiet as it would be a working lunch. They accommodated us nicely with a booth in the far corner of the restaurant which was perfect for conversation and work. The server was attentive and a bit of a helicopter but she was just trying to do her job. The food was good. Living in Rhodie it’s hard to eat seafood that far from the coast, but it was still good. I would try Devon again the next time I’m in town.

We wanted a nice sit down dinner on our way home from a New Years family vacation. This restaurant is about 10 miles from the Harrisburg International Airport. It’s relatively quiet with nice jazz music playing in the background. I was able to try a new fish(for me). It’s called barramundi(sp?), a form of sea bass. It was nice, but not out of this world. My husband had the seafood boullabaise and my son had a steak. Both said their meals were outstanding. Would probably come back.

4 friends and I drove from Annapolis, MD to see Kevin Hart at the Giant center. When we were about an hour away we were looking for somewhere to have a great meal so we started Unilocaling. We decided it was a special occasion so we would splurge a little. Devon Seafood and Steak was open for business on new years day and were able to take a reservation for us right away. We walked into the busy restaurant and were seated immediately.(thank god for the reservation, a walk in before us was given an hour wait time). No sooner did we sit down were were served warm biscuits with maple butter and water. The maple butter was out of this world. Soon after, our server came over to tell us a little bit about Devon’s and take our drink orders. The drinks were equally amazing. We ordered a blackberry martini, the chocolate kiss martini, and two of the heavy pour drinks. The food was exceptional. I was so beyond pleased with everything and me being a picky eater this is surprising 3 of us got the filet. It was simply out of this world. The cut was tender and there was so much flavor that it makes my mouth water thinking about it. The side dishes for the filet were equally amazing. We had the whipped potatoes, roasted potatoes, asparagus, and creamed corn. We also had the pleasure of the trying the blackened chicken penne pasta and a caesar salad, also delicious. Devon’s made a good night even better. I will be back.

I am honestly stunned by the exceptional reviews this establishment has received, and it leads me to believe that any restaurant that charges $ 30-$ 60 per plate, serves«high-end» ingredients such as scallops and filet, and calls green beans«haricovert» can achieve a reputation of excellence in a town that offers next to no real competition for quality food. First, I sat at the bar. This was to be expected as I had no reservation. Service at the bar was initially quick and friendly, and the selection of available liquors was pretty good. I was given a menu, and after a few minutes I came to the conclusion that(based on price and menu), this was the sort of restaurant that had the potential to really wow me with their food. Therefore, I ordered the calamari with fried jalapeños, and for my entrée the surf and turf which consisted of a 6 oz filet mignon and seared scallops. For my «seasonal sides» I asked for the mushroom risotto, and the parmesan haricovert. Shortly after this I received a cracked black pepper biscuit with«salted butter» with a drizzle of maple syrup on top of the butter. This was my first moment of concern, as any restaurant that takes the time to highlight the fact that their butter is «salted»(my waitress said this with distinct pride), really doesn’t understand the vast majority of butters available in today’s market. Salt is pretty basic. In addition, someone failed to «crack» the«cracked peppers» in my biscuit, and so what I really got was a rather decent biscuit laced with the culinary equivalent of land mines — whole black peppers that destroyed your entire palate. The butter was entirely overwhelmed by maple syrup, which did serve a purpose in restoring some sense of justice to my palate after the black pepper assault. A few moments later, I received an enormous appetizer of fried calamari, fried jalapeños, some sort of fried onion strips, and all the fried bits left floating in the top of the frier. When I say enormous, I mean this appetizer was enough to make me not only full, but stuffed. For some perspective, I am a fat man. I eat a lot of food. I weigh at least 100 lbs more than I should, and I love to eat large quantities of good food. This was an enormous appetizer for me – I could probably have split this with someone and both left satisfied. The size of this appetizer alone went quite a long way in confirming my suspicions that this place was not in fact a «high end» restaurant, but instead a failed attempt at a «high end» restaurant that didn’t understand food or even basic portion sizes. In addition, the calamari was rubbery, and the highlight of the appetizer was the fried jalapeño slices purely because I love jalapeños. The two sauces(billed with some fancy names I can’t remember) amounted to poorly clarified butter, and a mayo with cajun spices whipped in. Then, my entrée arrived. I received 5 «seared» scallops, mushroom risotto, and haricoverts. Devon clearly has a different understanding of «seared» than I do. I envision a crispy golden crust on the top and bottom of my scallops. Devon serves a truly blackened top to your scallop, and apparently takes a few moments to wave a bic lighter under the bottom of your scallop just to take the chill off. This provides you an interesting contrast in flavors — first you get the crunchy taste of grill char, then you get the overcooked texture of rubberized scallop, and finally you get the nauseating texture of raw scallop and a bit of oil from the pan at the end. The whole experience rushes you off to your«seasonal sides» to deliver your already affronted palate from the terrible experience you just had. Sadly, this wouldn’t help. First, the«mushroom risotto» was way overcooked, to the point that the rice was gummy. Second, the mushrooms were huge — whole bites of mushroom. This was, for me, the point where I truly realized I wasn’t just having a «bad meal» at Devon’s, but that Devon’s didn’t know what the hell they were doing. Any chef worth their salt will have basic knife skills down and emphasize them in their kitchen with their whole staff. For example: I can get evenly cut vegetables at Chipotle. I would expect evenly diced mushrooms in my risotto. I can put up with a rough chop, but when one piece of mushroom is a sliver that melts away, and another is the whole mushroom stem and all… I can only come to the conclusion that the chef doesn’t care enough(or know enough) to pay attention. The«parmesan haricovert» was simply undercooked green beans in oil. I didn’t taste even a hint of parmesan on the one half of green bean I gnawed my way through. You will note, sadly, that I have not commented on the filet that was part of my «surf and turf.» It is not, I assure you, that I was saving the best for last. I didn’t comment on my filet because the restaurant forgot to serve it with my meal and my waitress didn’t reappear after dropping my food for a full 40 minutes. Avoid Devon’s. It isn’t worth it.

Absolutely amazing! Our experience here was wonderful. We walked in about 15 minutes prior to our reservation time and were seated right away. However, we were seated in a smaller room with a large and extremely obnoxious group. They were so loud that I ended up walking up and asking to be moved which was not a problem at all for the hostess because she quickly found us another table in the bar area and a much better server considering our original server left us sitting for ten minutes before finally coming to attempt to take our drink order. Our next server, Nicole, was fabulous! She greeted us promptly and made sure to explain everything to us about the menu and what makes this restaurant so special. She also made suggestions for us, both wine and food. The food was heavenly, every bit of it. For our appetizers we decided on the spicy tuna sushi roll and the fried calamari… both were delicious. The calamari came with this creole dip that was just so good that I’d probably eat anything with it. The caesar salad was a 10. As for dinner, my fiancé and I both ordered the seafood mixed grill. I substituted my salmon for a second crab cake. We also changed out the sides and made sure to get four different ones — lobster mac n’ cheese, wild mushroom risotto, brussels sprouts with prosciutto, and the super yummy creamed corn with bacon. All of them were delicious, but the creamed corn was by far the best! And all of the seafood was fantastic. The crème brûlée was great, too! I would have preferred a harder sugar top, but that is just my personal preference. This will now be our regular date night spot. It was just way too good!

I highly recommend making reservations prior to going. The place was packed on a saturday night! I came here early and decided to sit at the bar until our table was ready but ended up eating at the bar. I had their michele chiarlo nivole d’Asti with their tuna tartar, then we proceeded to order a surf and turf cause it seemed like a better deal. We had the filet mignon with grilled scallops with artichoke and lobster mac and cheese as sides. The wine was really good, definitely to my liking. I love dessert wines. The tuna tartar was a bit too sour for me. The presentation was really nice though. The filet mignon was a bit burnt on the outside but other wise the meat is pretty tender. The scallops were decent sized. I do regret ordering the artichoke cause of how annoying it was too eat, my first time eating artichoke actually. The server did warn us but we decided to take our chances. The dip that it came with was nice though, complimented it nicely. The lobster mac and cheese was a disappointment. There was literally NO lobster in it. My boyfriend liked it alot though as a dish, although I’d disagree. Portions are pretty fair, we were both pretty full afterward. Things are a bit pricey for what you’re getting, but I guess it’s cause of the atmosphere? It’s cozy and a bit upscale. I only wish the food lived up to its price.
