I’ve probably driven by dozens of times over the years without knowing this little gem was just a stone’s throw away. Well, I’m glad I finally discovered it. I always go for these truck stop-type places big time just for the atmosphere, but this one has surprisingly good chow. Service was so-so, but the overall Outpost Café experience more than makes up for it.

Great food, fun truck stop, western vibe. Been coming here for over 25 years and food is always good. Definitely a great place for late night stops!

Good food and they give you a lot and the prices are good as well. They just need more help I saw one waitress for the entire place.

Not much to look at from the outside, but the food is pretty decent, fresh and homemade. Big portions, so you definitely get what you pay for. I like to sit at the counter and eat — makes me feel like a ‘trucker’ even though I’m not(since this is mainly a diner for truckers). The only thing that I don’t like it the coffee — much too weak. But if you ask the waitress to make it stronger, she will.

Love this place! I have never had a bad meal! The divorced eggs are a personal favorite and their steaks are always cooked to perfection

Food is pretty good and waitresses are really nice but they are terribly inefficient. We were a party of 10. Waitress brought out 2 drinks at a time. No writing stuff down. But they’re sweet ladies and probably just understaffed. so it’s tough to rate. Onion rings are yummy, hash browns too … Do not get the club, it’s just so so. Waffles are good.

Ok… so when you come here you have to check out the signs on the bathrooms! I don’t know what it is about cute or funny things in bathrooms… just gives the place a little extra pizzaz… Now onto our experience. It took a long time to get noticed by anyone, but once our server finally came she was very nice and quick to serve! I love that they had individual cereal boxes since my daughter doesn’t tend to eat much in the mornings. All of our breakfast was great and I loved my eggs Benedict! My disgusted loved her hot cocoa they had! Everything was very fresh and served quickly! I definitely recommend this place during your travels!

Just moved to Hesperia, and my nephew recommended this place. WOW! So impressed not only with the food, which was awesome, but the service and comfortable atmosphere. Eggs Benedict was perfection, hollandaise sauce was delicious. My son loved the Macho Hombre breakfast burrito, which was enormous. Daughter had the french toast breakfast, and said it was great. This place will definitely be a favorite.

Amazing home cooked, hardy food! This place is definetly a jewel in my book! I ordered a New york steak with homefries and veggies, and my wife had rib eye with garlic mashed potates and a house salad. Everything tasted authentic and delicious. I highly recommend it! For the café itself, it is very clean, big breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, inviting atmosphere, excellent customer service and it is located right off the 395 next to the PILOT station.

Ordered ½ burger and Tri Tip @ Around 3ish… Tri tip tasted weird, I think the source on meat n marsh potato is rotten. I had it to go. Please taste ur food before pick up. ½ burger, nothing special… Habit or in n ourt has better burger. People in this area may have different standard for hamberger. Service was good. Food came out fast.

This place is fantastic! I’ve driven past here so many times and never thought to stop. So glad we did! The meatloaf is gooooooooddddd. I was Leary about bacon on my meatloaf, but its legit. The gravy is nice and salty but is just warm and nice. Chicken noodle was amazing! Give this place a try!

Man, was I ever surprised on my first visit! I come here, and pretty much only here for burgers. With 10 – 15 bucks I can sit comfortably and sink my teeth into amazing ½ pound Kobe beef burgers, cooked perfectly to order(I had mine medium rare). The good stuff doesn’t stop there… Please try they blue cheese and ranch dressings. They are made in house and taste great like no other. The sides and salads are equally satisfying. Skip the mainstream«diners» for lunch and pay just a few dollars more than fast food, and you’ll have the best burger, sandwiches and salads for the money.

Stopped here on our way to Mammoth and boy were we pleasantly surprised! No offense to this place at all, but when you think of cafes near truck stops you tend to think of grease traps serving 4 day old grub, flies buzzing around, and sketchy dudes from sketchy walks of life hanging around. I know I know, it’s not fair to generalize, but generalizations exist for a reason! You will be happy to know that this isn’t one of those places. Yes it’s near a gas station, but you walk in and it’s got a little Wild West home town feeling to it. The servers were pleasant and attentive, and the food was actually really wonderful. Maybe wasn’t the most aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but hey my belly doesn’t discriminate when the flavor of the food does that talking. I had the huevos rancheros and they were great, crispy tortilla, smothered in ranchero sauce, cotixa cheese sprinkled across my eggs and beans. It was messy and so delicious. My friend ordered the huevos divorciados and she was equally as satisfied. The salsa verde was her favorite of the two, but the red sauce was splendid as well. My friend put it best comparing it to her grandma’s cooking… I don’t think you can get any better than that. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick satisfying meal on a road trip.

I have been driving by this place at 60 miles an hour along the 395 highway for nearly a decade. I’ve seen it. I’ve stopped in at the gas station across the way. I’ve wondered: Hum… could that place be any good? But when I’m in the high desert and craving breakfast. Molly Browns is the go to spot. Thanks to my mother’s coaxing, we arrived at Outpost with empty stomachs and big eyes. Yes, Outpost is your typical friendly diner, and it looks like your elbows are going to be swimming in grease the moment you sit down at the table, but it is not a dingy diner. It’s like a comical, new world version of the grand American diner. You get the«Hello Sweety, seat yourself» and the cowboy-inspired menu. Seriously, they even have the cowperson’s creed printed on the menu. You also get hokey and campy comic novels at your table that, whilst you are waiting for your triple decker breakfast platter, will inform you about the fine art of worrying, the sure-fire way to get a good woman or how to convince other people that you are a level-headed and functional human being. Yeah… Anyone actually read Ben Goode’s work? Anyway, very pleased with the servings here. I went with a Benedict. The hollandaise was pretty nice! Didn’t taste like it came from a bag of powder. My relatives were also very happy with their breakfast items. Uh oh Molly Browns…
