This was my first time going to this place and I loved it. The service was excellent. The food was wonderful. I’m pretty sure there was only one ol boy behind the bar and everything was brought out in a very timely manner. The location is off the beaten path which was really appealing for me. The prices were standard for sushi. I will definitely return to this place again.

If ur driving by n wondering if this place is good turn around and have some absolutely delicious BBQ/sushi you’ll get in the desert. Hands down the best restraint I’ve been to an a long time. Great service. Great hospitality super clean and fresh environment. definitely not a restraint you’ll find in the middle of nowhere to be so delicious.

Wow! We were not expecting to find a sushi restaurant during our family camping adventure. We were camping at Silverwood Lake State Park. We ordered the family boat sushi because it included chicken teriyaki, miso soup for all, salads for all, and a huge plate of Nigeri sushi and sushi rolls. The female owner came to check on our table and was very polite and asked a lot of questions about our vacation and give us some good suggestions for places to visit. The next time we camp at Silverwood lake state park we will definitely plan for a dinner at our new sushi find.

My son, who was in Korea for 2 years, has been trying to find a good Korean restaurant in the Victor Valley for years now. Well, we finally found this restaurant. Even though it was out in the boonies the food, service and atmosphere were excellent. It was very clean too. Another plus was the fact that the food was all organic and grown on the property. In addition, they also serve Japanese food. I would highly recommend trying it if you like this kind of food!!!

What a amazing find in an idyllic setting. Having lived in Korea and eaten on the streets of air force base, I can say without a doubt that this restaurant is authentic and delicious in all manners. The service was outstanding and the owners were extremely generous. , !

TL;DR: We will not be going back to this place because my husband and I were treated extremely rudely by the owners, who both came out of the kitchen JUSTTOYELLATUS for eating their food«wrong.» I have never been this shocked and humiliated or treated this poorly by staff in a restaurant(even when I was a waitress). FOOD: Korean BBQ(duck) was a 3, with reservations(see below). Could have been a 4 were it not for the uncalled-for interference by backseat cooks. Banchan was a 2. Okay, but not many of my favorites were represented, and no standouts in what _was_represented. The salad was strange, composed of full giant lettuce leaves dressed in the same spices they make kimchi with. I prefer the spread provided by both Well Being(seafood pancake as banchan FTW) or Seoul Garden. I would have liked to try this place’s seafood pancake, but I wasn’t going to spend $ 20 on one when we had ordered $ 65 worth of other food and were already pushing it as far as stomach capacity for it all. Sushi(tuna, yellowtail, salmon nigiri) was a 1.5 at best. The fish was dried out, chewy and flavorless(hey, at least it wasn’t fishy). There was way too much wasabi on all 3, and there weirdly was a strip of nori *in between* the yellowtail and the sushi rice. Sushi rice was just plain rice as far as I could tell and not actually sushi rice. SERVICE: Well, this one is tough. The Latin gentleman doing most of the serving and front-of-house was nice, though perhaps a bit tentative in our dealings with him, perhaps due to shyness or lack of confidence in his English. My big problem was with the owners. To me, one of the benefits of KBBQ is that you can cook the meat to your desired specification. Imagine our confusion and embarrassment when the male owner comes out and starts yelling at us that it wasn’t ready yet. He cowed my husband into putting the meat he had put onto his plate back on the grill, and when I did not do the same, he proceeded to shout loudly to his wife in Korean, who comes out and also proceeds to tell us it’s not ready. We kept saying things like«it’s okay, I like it this way,» and they refused to listen. They continued to express their disapproval between themselves in loud Korean and to keep yelling at me in broken English because I would not move the meat from my plate back to the grill. Sitting there frozen, I could feel my face heating up in embarrassment, not knowing what to do or say to get them to leave us in peace. If there wasn’t a language barrier I would have assured them we wouldn’t sue if we got food poisoning or something. But I was afraid I would only cause more confusion, so I just sat there as the guy continued to stir and overcook the duck to death until he was finally satisfied and they walked away. By this time they had ruined our duck(which cost $ 50, by the way) and I had lost my appetite. I really don’t appreciate taking the time to drive out of my way to the middle of nowhere and spending hard-earned money to be yelled at and treated like a child during my meal. I grew up being yelled at by Asians(parents); I don’t care to continue to do so now that I’m a full adult(and have very solidly been a full adult for a long-ass time, so it isn’t because we were perceived as teenagers or in our early 20s or something). I know that I have a weird preference for my meat to be blue-rare, not just rare, but in this case the meat that I had rescued off the grill was somewhere between a perfectly respectable, normal, CIA-approved medium rare and a fully-cooked medium, and not something that should have raised eyebrows. The duck I had managed to eat before getting yelled at was pretty good, not the best I have ever had, but good. The rest of the duck after the owner got done with it was hard, dry, and chewy. A sad waste of the life of a supposedly organic duck(by the way, I didn’t see any mention of this fact, which I would think would be a major selling point). Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I care almost exclusively about the taste of the food and don’t let service, ambiance, or even cleanliness have nearly as much weight in my ratings. As a former server myself, I regularly let *a lot* of crap go as far as service, but this is beyond belief. I haven’t seen service this bad since the laughably bad service I got at the restaurant that replaced the restaurant that replaced Dragon Mark(note to self: remember to leave a review for this). But at the other place, the bad service was just funny. Here, it was outright insulting. This was a WTF up there with the shoe saleswoman who called a 100-pound teenage girl’s feet«too fat» for her shop’s shoes TOHERFACE. I left over 30% tip so the Latino gentleman would not be screwed, but I hope the owners don’t take a cut of tips for themselves… I know restaurants are not supposed to do that, but(Mario Batali, I’m looking at you!)…

This is thee Best Sushi & Rolls Place Ever! the owners are super friendly and service is always above and beyond. This place is in the middle of no where but is a MUST stop if you are ever in the Silverwood area. They also have some sesame seed treats that are so delicious. Everything is so fresh. they even grow their own greens for the fresh green salads. Hope you decide to try this hidden treasure.

After thinking of going for years, my family and I finally dropped by. It was an unusually slow night crowd-wise, as we were the only customers, but that made it quiet, intimate, like dining in your own home. We tried only the family meat plate(3 kinds of meat, rice, soup, salad) because we wanted a warm meal(usually we love sushi), and wanted it quick(so we didn’t opt for the Korean menu/bbq). So it was simple fare. But that was our«food mood». For about $ 35 we had enough plus leftovers for our family of four. The miso soup was good, the salad had organic greens which was a nice change from so many places doing iceberg salad. The bbq beef was my favorite, reminiscent of bulgogi, and my son who hates beef kept grabbing more off my plate to eat. The waitress was very friendly, but not in a loud/pushy kind of was which was also nice, adding to the relaxing at home atmosphere. I liked seeing multiple generations working together in the kitchen, too. I haven’t a clue who was serving those who gave bad reviews of the restaurant staff as the ones that I encountered were, as said, kind of quiet, but warm and genuine. All in all, fro trying probably the most unexciting meal(or most«American») I was pleased and will be back. If you have children who fare better in quieter restaurants, then if you drive by and this restaurant is not very crowded, drop by. My children were little angels which is rare in more crowded/louder restaurants.

If you’re looking for something different that has good service, go here. It would totally get 5 stars, but it’s a tad bit pricey and i didn’t even pay… party of 7 with a few beers came to $ 280 before tip. Mind you it was very very very very good, but a duck platter for $ 50 seems a tad on the high side to me. The salad was bomb. I’ll go again after the pain of the check burns off.

When you go here, you MUST get the duck bbq. It is certainly a little pricey, but it is quality, fresh, and delicious. I have never had duck so good anywhere else. This place’s food is awesome. The one issue is the service. They try to make you buy more food for more profit, but that I don’t mind too much cuz they’re not gonna change how much I eat. This places food is five stars but the service is three stars. Overall four stars.

Had worst experience here. I dont even want to give half star here. The waitresses and the owner is so rude and they force you to eat more and more. If you dont, they’ll say something like«is this it??? Is this all you guys are getting??» And wont even give you more services like side dishes or rice. So rude. Never coming here ever again. You guys shouldnt drive all the way here to eat with shitty as service.

This place sucks. I’ve been here plenty of times. They just can’t deliver. They never have what I want. I don’t know how they have manage to stay open this long. There sashimi game is weak. Hit and miss on what they have. The head sheaf doesn’t speak very good English and may say one thing but when you get your order it isn’t what you talked about, and when you call him on it they don’t bother to compensate you, just a fuck you have a nice day. I’ll spend my money some where else. Thanks but no thanks!

Revisited! I dont know about their sushi or other seafood menu, never tried. But their duck! Chicken in a broth! Just too good! Couldnt really complain about the long drive as I was leaving the restaurant. It was a long weekend when we were there — so there were a lot of people but usually it doesnt get that packed. Must try their duck and a whole chicken in a broth and make sure you make a reservation so they prepare those meats for you in advance. They are known for homegrown ducks and chickens. And I have to mention — thier banchans are all good too! Now that I think about it, this place was the first time I thought duck was good! Its actually alittle too far to visit often but worth of going once in a while. Theres a camping site close by, so if you are an outdoor activity person — can be a great getaway weekend to go camping and stop by here to have a great food!

I had no idea this place ever existed. My cousins and I took the back route to the 15 freeway to cut through what was a ton of traffic a couple of weeks ago and we happened to pass by this place. We thought it looked very sketch from the outside, and continued sticking. Fast forward two weeks, and we heard that this place is actually really good. So we decided to try it. We only came for the sushi, though I’ve been reading amazing reviews about the Korean BBQ. I started by ordering the Yellowtail sushi. I didn’t know there was wasabi in it, so I didn’t enjoy that. Then it was time to order the rolls: I ordered a Shrimp Crunch, Shrimp Killer and a Mexican. I’m not going to get into detail because I honestly don’t remember everything inside the rolls, but they all tasted great, especially the Shrimp Crunch, and they were a perfect size. I’ve been to so many sushi restaurants where the rolls are huge. I actually prefer the smaller rolls. We also got some saki and that went well with the sushi. All in all, I was satisfied with the good. Don’t let the outside fool you. It’s very nice on the inside, the employees are nice, and the food is good. I don’t know that I would drive out here again for sushi as there’s better sushi closer to me, but I would recommend you try it if you ever happen to pass by.

Came here for the first time. It was just alright not the best sushi I’ve had before. I tried the lunch Combo C sushi platter $ 15.95 it was just okay. Then I tried the Shrimp Crunch Roll $ 7.95, that was not good whatsoever. Would I come back, I would say yes but not for the sushi but to try the family platter which you can feed 4 ppl for $ 35 and you get soup, salad, rice And a choice of teriyaki chicken, Katsu chicken, and etc Seems like a lot of ppl were having the family platter.

After 4.5 Hours of hypnotic driving through Nowhere, California this past weekend, I came upon an oasis for the eyes, Silverwood Restaurant Grill and Sushi. Driving from Highway 46, to Interstate 5 to Highway 138, there was not much to see beyond fields of agriculture, stand-alone gas stops and the occasional cactus and tumbleweed. But as I inched toward the end of Highway 138, things started to change [much for the better]. After passing the 15 interchange, Highway 138 began to blossom. Lush greenery, dramatic rock formations and roadside ranches(some with Kanji and some with Korean writing on their frontage signs) enveloped my senses. Amidst the natural beauty, not a glimmer of metropolitan life was found… until we passed what, if I hadn’t seen the Unilocal page for confirmation, I would have thought was a mirage. Korean BBQ!!! What!!! The visual flipped my world on it’s head. I had half of a mind to stop [and, as you will see, I definitely should have], but I resisted the urge as we had other plans. For the entire weekend, I wondered what was to be found in this mysterious place. Could it possibly be any good, being out in Nowhere, CA and all? My curiosity turned into research as I scoured the Unilocal page for insights. It turns out that, not only is the Korean BBQ famed for it’s flavor, but it is completely novel in that the owners of the establishment raise their own ducks for use in the BBQ’d Duck and Duck Fat Fried Rice which follows! I guess this makes sense for a restaurant that is at least 45 minutes away from some much as a mini mart. So…did the BBQ’d Duck live up to my inflating expectations? I DON’T KNOW! In a cruel and ironic twist of plot, the 138 was closed for a police investigation on my way down and I was diverted toward another route. Instead of putting an exclamation point on the trip with a true joie de vivre experience, I was compelled to stop @ Bistro Chevron in Victorville and indulged on a less than gourmet guilty pleasure… What luck! But, did I freak out? Were any tables flipped in the process? Not a chance. Recognizing the silver lining, I realized that my eagerness will only build stronger as I look forward to my return trip next year. Further, had I ventured down the path just a little sooner, I might have been witness to a serious crime, or worse…
