Had the pupusas de arroz,(Made of rice flour) which are usually my favorite. These were thicker made than pupusas usually are and the flour was too plain in flavor. The tomato sauce and curtido(cabbage) as sides were awful. It was a poor attempt at replicating a simple Salvadoran dish. Neither my bf or I finished out food and I left with a stomach ache. A bit overpriced as well at $ 3.50 for the arroz pupusas and $ 2.50 for regular corn pupusas. I’m surely never coming again. I hope other people don’t leave here thinking that Salvadoran food is as mediocre as they tasted in this restaurant.

Pupusas! This little unassuming Salvadorian restaurant in Hialeah isn’t bad(except the almost non-existent parking in front). Me and the boyfriend went a week ago and tried their pupusas(kinda like an arepa but not sweet) with coleslaw and hot sauce, and it was pretty tasty. We also tried an elote, like a sweet corn tamale, which was pretty good. I don’t know how much they cost but it was somewhere around $ 5-$ 6 for both. Not bad. Last night, we were back in Hialeah so we decided to try a full-out meal which was pretty good actually, but kinda pricey for Salvadorian(similar to Mexican) food. I got the Taquitos and boyfriend got churrasco steak(I posted pics). The steak was $ 11 but it’s $ 7 if you get it for during lunch. The taquitos were crispy with shredded meat. but it came with coleslaw with parmesean cheese on top?! huh! yeah but pretty tasty anyways. The churrasco came with salad, beans and platanos… steak was ok, but mmmmmmm those bananas were awesome. :) Overall the food tasted good and offered variety in a cuban area, but value wise I’d go for the Cuban food in the area, cheaper and better, come on its Hialeah.
