This Michaels is HUGE! Two floors and an elevator. Pretty incredible, and I think its safe to say that Hialeah is definitely coming up. Whats interesting though is that the shelves are fully stocked with very similar merchandise. I mean, really, why is there an entire wall full of multi-purpose boxes? It stretches through the entire length of the wall near the entrance/exit and could definitely be consolidated to just one smaller section. The stocking manager definitely needs to reconsider their strategy. I came in for a unique idea on giving a gift, and after searching through this ginormous wall for what seemed like an eternity, I actually just ended using a box with french writing on it that I didn’t understand and peacocks adorning every side. I even called my boyfriend and said, «I have discovered a new way to give gifts– boxes! I’m giving EVERY gift from now on in a nicely decorated box! YOUGET A BOX, ANDYOUGET A BOX, ANDYOUGET A BOX! EVERYBODYGETS A BOX!» Upon giving the gift, I saw how underwhelmed the receiver was by my box, and then I seriously rethought it. I spent $ 14 on the box and it wasn’t even appreciated. Go upstairs and don’t read too much into the boxes… please heed my warning. The upstairs area is more Michaels-like and has much more than they do downstairs although its smaller. Much more well-put together.

This isn’t the first time Michael’s opens-up in Hialeah. A while back, at the peak of their popularity, there was a Michael’s down the street from here. It was very short lived. I came back from Texas looking for it and, it was gone. This particular location is still roughly new. It has taken over the spot where there was a Walgreen’s. Before that, this whole entire side of Palm Springs Mile was one huge department store named Richard’s. This would include the Toys R Us area in the back. Yeah, Richard’s was HUGE. We need a place like Michael’s in Hialeah. If you’re a native to Hialeah, then, you must recall Diamond’s that used to be across the street. Since Diamond’s closed for business, Hialeah has struggled to find a replacement. I’m sorry to say, Michael’s just isn’t «it.» I’m issuing two stars because customer service here is pretty abismal. But not too bad. The employees are very nice and cheerful when you engage in conversation with them. I spoke to two. Everyone else just passed me by while there. Then, you have their checkout. Not once, but twice, I left the line to go walk around with the cart because the line just wouldn’t move. There was this one customer taking-up all the time of the only cashier. I do believe she called for back-up on one of my walking arounds. I’m not sure since each time I came back it was that one cashier with that one customer. It wasn’t just a few minutes. Good thing for them, though… I bought more things. Things to note and blah, blah, blahs: * Parking — Good luck finding a spot that you like close by. This area is shared by many large businesses. * I like that they added a second floor. * Still the only pla

I’m an avid crafter and LOVE craft stores. However every time I have been to this Michaels I have waited in the checkout long for over 20 minutes. The first time I thought maybe they’re just busy. Then the second time I thought okay maybe they’re busy again? But the third, fourth, fifth, sixth seventh and every time I’ve been there sense has been this way. When I get up to the register the cashiers are so pleasant, but I’m so frustrated by this point. Please do something about this.
