Tattooed Theory

This is my second review (original at their previous location — re-​posted below) and this remains a five star review only because I’m limited to five stars.
I have been thinking about getting a tattoo for more years than I’d like to admit. It’s a huge commitment and one that should be well thought out.
Initially, I contacted Tattooed Theory through their web site. I submitted my information electronically and described what I was looking to get tattooed. Since my friend has a few tattoos by Javi and had explained the procedure, I knew it would take quite a while. Some time later, I received a message to meet up and discuss what I wanted to do.
At my appointment, I spoke with Javi and further discussed what I wanted to get done. At that time, I left a deposit and received a date for my tattoo.
My excitement and anticipation was building and finally, I received the art prior to my appointment. Javi captured and exceeded my expectation of the concept… I was thrilled.
I showed up for my appointment and since he had moved the business, I headed to the new location. Although the other location was easy to get to, the new spot is just as easy to find and near the expressway. It has a sleek and modern design with very cool décor. As I described in the previous review, the business continues to be extremely clean, tidy and very well organized.
When I sat down in the tattoo area, I watched Javi take his time setting up from the very beginning. Lining all areas for cleanliness. Opening a ton of packages, needles etc. I can describe it as methodical and very detailed. I could go on and on with everything he did in preparation for the tattoo. There was no rush, which is a good thing. During the procedure, we took periodic breaks which were very much welcomed.
As a side note, during this visit, I met the other artist, Chris. Just like Javi, he was personable and his work, also beautiful.
In the end, my tattoo was absolutely amazing, dark and beautifully detailed. It was a wonderful experience! I cannot stress enough how professional and serious the artists are at Tattooed Theory. This is pure art and not the cookie cutter tattoo you often see.
All in all, as I said in my previous review, go to his site, follow him on Instagram and if their work speaks to you, this is the place to go to. You will wait a long time and it won’t be cheap. They are sought by many customers and have a long wait list. Then again, why would you gamble or try to cut corners with something that will be on your skin for the rest of your life. It’s a huge decision to get a tattoo. Think it through and go to a professional location. You want it to be a positive experience on every level. You will not regret making Tattooed Theory your choice.
For my next tattoo, hands down, Tattooed Theory will be my choice!

As a disclaimer, I didn’t get a tattoo yet, but definitely want to write about my initial store experience.
I’ve been wanting a tattoo for a while but it can be very challenging to find a tattoo artist. We have plenty of artists in South Florida, but choosing one can be daunting.
While talking to quite a few friends that already have ink, there was one friend and tattoo that really stood out to me. The piece she had was pure art and words cannot describe how amazing it was. She told me Javi had done her tattoo and she went on and on about him, his shop and portfolio. She too had a recommendation from her friend that has a few pieces. Well, I have since submitted my request via his web site but finally decided to go by the shop to ensure I’ve made the right decision. The visit confirmed a resounding yes.
You know the art is amazing, no doubt about that. Going by his shop and meeting Javi, solidified that yes, this is the place for me! One thing I’ve experienced with some tattoo artists is, as a female, they kind of «poo poo» your visit, as if you are not serious. In all fairness, maybe they’re like that because it is their experience. Well, Javi made me feel welcomed and not judged at all. Keep in mind, he has a waiting list of over a year yet, I was made to feel important. My friend was right on all counts. The store was easy to get to, right off the 826. Plenty of parking and the inside of the store was extremely tidy. I look forward to returning in the future!
