I am Nicaraguense and this is the best fritanga I have had in West Hialeah. The carne asada is cooked to order and Gallo pinto always taste fresh. You can always order ahead of time over the phone and it’s ready when you arrive. Love this place!

I really like that they don’t grill the meat until you order it. It’s delicious. Best gallo pinto

Small fritanga spot in Hialeah. Parking is available all around the plaza. I’ve been to other fritanga restaurants and this location didn’t have many different food items to choose from maybe they ran out of food? Either way I hope they expand their food selections. I got the carne asada with morro and a salad. The food was bland, didn’t really have a distinct taste. I ate inside the restaurant which has a few small tables inside. For a quick bite that’s better than fast food this a good spot. Prices for the food are reasonable so that’s a plus for this location.

One of my favorite discoveries as an adult was a fritanga. Since I was introduced to them I have visited so many in Miami and it’s hard to find good ones. Never did I think in Hialeah would I find a great one. You would think all the best ones are in Flagler right? Well now you can have amazing fresh nica food right in your neighborhood. My absolute favorite thing about this place is that the carne Asada is made to order instead of sitting there in a warmer over cooking. I dislike that most of these place cook the crap out of these steaks and taste like nothing but seasoning. This place has great seasoning and the meat is soft and to your liking. I always ask for medium. Which is more than what medium really is but its churrasco so you can’t leave it to raw bc it’s too chewy. It also has a nice garlic flavor which I enjoy. And the best part is the meat is not fatty! Most places give you a bunch of pieces of meat but it’s mostly fat. They give you two long strips but good strips, which I prefer quality over quantity. The rice is also very good here. The queso frito is saltier than most places but with the maduro it balances out. If you haven’t had the cheese with the maduro, your def missing out! One thing I notice is they don’t have plantain chips or tajadas as they call it. Don’t make the mistake I did my first time going to a fritanga and asked for mariquitas which is what we Cubans call them. I got the hardest stares. They also have a different selection of salads to accompany your meal. Instead of just the norm«repollo» or however they call their coleslaw. They have a garden salad and a garbanzo salad. All this food for around $ 9. Can’t beat it if your looking for a good filing meal of rice beans and meat.

Wow! That was delicious! Had the carne asada, well done, but still tender, and excellent flavor! For sides I had the gallo pinto(rice and red beans), the carrots and the boiled plantain. All so good. Best food I’ve had around this area. I would highly recommend it. The place was spotless, too. It’s too bad I didn’t find this place earlier.

This place is more of an americanized fritanga. That’s not really a bad thing though. I love that the carne asada is cooked to order. The quality of the meat is awesome. Very tender and nicely seasoned. The place is always clean and the service is mostly good. The gallopinto is my least favorite part. Its very plain in my opinion. The salad is awesome though. Overall this is a good spot but it wont slide if you bring your nicaraguan relatives to eat here while they vacation in Miami.

!! FAKEFRITANGAALERT !! I suggest you stay away from this«modern Fritanga» a million times! My boyfriend who’s Nica stepped foot in this place and immediately said«fake ass Fritanga» lol I, nonetheless wanted to give it a shot and went for it. Where shall I begin? The rice or so called«Gallo Pinto» had no taste whatsoever! The only good thing about it was the texture, it was grained rice… But no taste at all… I think American rice which is known to be completely tasteless would have been a lot better. Maduros; weren’t even fried properly and were quite hard to bite into. And last, the main part of the plate; the carne asada… Well I was disappointed again… Horribly! NOTASTE! The only good thing was the tenderness since it was cooked to order but what good does that do when you’re just biting into tender meat with no taste… Just PURECOW! Thankfully the queso was cooked to order and since it’s not hard to mess up frying cheese that was the highlight of my meal. Which in reality was not a meal at all! I will NOT return no matter what and suggest you stay away from it too, unless you want to be disappointed! THEBESTPLACEFORFRITANGAIS A DRIVEBUTWELLWORTHITANDCHEAPERTHANTHISPLACE! This is my new to-go place for Fritanga. Their food is delicious and fresh and the restaurant is always spotless. I usually order carne asada(meat cooked to order to your liking) with gallo pinto(rice & red beans cooked together so the rice absorbs the flavor of the beans) & repollo(cole & carrots finely chopped with lemon dressing) which is the perfect acidic counterpart to the well seasoned beef. Staff consists of two people — one cooking and one taking orders & serving so service is a little slow but the staff is friendly enough and the food is worth the wait.

The cacao in this«modern fritanga» is nothing like what a real cacao tastes like, tastes more like Nesquik.

I tried this Fritanga for the first time, and I’m glad I did ! The carne asada was delicious; very tender and with a grilled smoky flavor to it. You could tell everything was fresh and not reheated, plus the place was immaculate clean. Will be returning for sure !!!

A year ago I complained about it, but I have become a frequent customer. The ladies are nice, the food varies and it is great during lunch time because they open at 11am and the food is fresh of course! I once tried their shrimp but since it was on the heated trays all day it didn’t taste delicious. I have never gotten sick, thank God! It is always very clean. The Carne Asada is made on the spot which I believe it is the only one that does this. And the tortillas are 3 for $ 1!

this place is one of MANY fritangas in the area. If you’ve never been to a fritanga, let me tell you what it is. A fritanga is a Nicaraguan restaurant, I visited Nicaragua once and there what happens is that housewives set up a cooktop outside of their house every evening and sell carne asada with gallo pinto and queso frito. Fritanga Angonica is trying something a little different fromt he other fritangas in this area. They have a modern look which the rest are lacking. They also have a lot more vegetable choices that most fritangas do. I also found their food to be way fresher and that is why I do not mind paying a little more for food here. Usually i get a carne asada plate for $ 6.25 at most fritangas, but her it cost me $ 8. We did a taste test with my husband, he ordered a meal from our regular fritanga and I ordered it from Fritanga Angonica and we tasted both dishes and each time, hands down, Fritanga Angonica won :) I hope they keep up the quality. I only visit miami 3 times a year and I will be doing a follow up review next time I’m in town. In the meantime check out the pictures I posted on my last visit.
