It’s no secret that they are much cheaper than Lowe’s. Also, let me put your mind at ease by touching a subject that is common within the last few years. The Home Depot and Lowe’s are not the same company. Both are very close to each other here in Hialeah. Biggest difference, aside from the prices, you will find what you’re looking for here if Lowe’s doesn’t carry it. I HATE coming here because of the horrible parking and congested traffic known by locals at the intersection this is located in. Let me put it to you this way, I will pay higher prices at Lowe’s before coming here. I had no choice because the light bulb I needed wasn’t available at Lowe’s. Sure enough, they carry it here. Things to note and blah, blah, blahs: * This business is 100% bilingual, English/español. I’m sorry if that offends you but, you will more likely than not, be spoken to in español first. Upon request, «ou ka jwenn» yon moun ki konprann/pale kreyòl ayisyen isit la. Simply ask, mwen gen e ke sa a jan mwen konnen. They hire completely from within Our Diverse Community. * PARKINGIS A MESS! * EXITING/ENTERING IS A MESS! For those familiar with Hialeah, the rear entrance is a better option and you will avoid the massive congestion known to that intersection. It’s been on the news. People have gotten run over there. * The Garden Center here and at Lowe’s, both, offer different options. Both good in their own right. You will just find things here that aren’t available there and vise versa. * If you haven’t lived here in a while, this was built on the same lot as the old Gus Machado Buick. Hence, the name of the plaza.

Not sure if it is due to the economy, or the management in this store’s got it together. We had the most surreal and unexpected experience here. Granted, could have been that we set off with low expectations, but the employees in this store really surprised us. Now, I don’t want to be unfair here, and assume that because you’ve been to one Home Depot, you’ve been to all, but there is a marked difference with the service her. Every single employee we came in contact with, made it a point to make eye contact and say hello, additionally, they were attentive and took the time to help us find everything we were looking for. It’s a really good feeling when you see that good service in Miami is not totally extinct.

Would you ever expect to hear angels sing while shopping at Home Depot? Neither would have I. I did, though! I did! Before I go on, let me explain that I was holding out for that perfect place for my 500th review. Originally I had planned to venture to Orlando to ride the new coaster and make that it. Destiny(my car broke down) had other plans… So on a Saturday night we end up in Hialeah, at Home Depot. Who ends up there unless you live in that area? No one. just us. So expecting the usual crowds, screaming, pushing, shoving, dead behind the eyes attitude from employees, we buckle up and grudgingly go in. Light, open and welcoming we stop for a second thinking we entered the wrong place, I mean c’mon. its HOMEDEPOT. Greeted very cheerfully at the door we are cautious and expect the hammer to fall. I was actually scared, it was too perfect, something MUST be wrong. Tentatively we go to the light bulbs which we need, and there is an employee who, get this, I know its hard to believe, discreetly STEPSASIDE while we look. And waits. My hubby completely oblivious to this takes his sweet time trying to find what he needed. I noticed but figured it was a fluke. He must have been waiting for something else, but no, as we turn away he returns to what he was doing right where we had been. The store is HUGE, it wasn’t crowded at all, it had a beautiful Christmas display area, and we not only were able to stroll through with no problem, the other patrons were few and far between, and were POLITE, but kept on getting greeted by the employees«Good evening!» and another who was stocking stopped and said«May I help you find what you are looking for?» … I stop in my tracks to reply«Thank you, but we are good!» Very good, actually for I was astounded. They not only were cheerful and helpful but they spoke to us in ENGLISH!!! I know!!! I never get spoken to in English at any other Home Depot, and if I try I get that«Screw you bitch you are speaking to me in Spanish because I am not even bothering to learn your language so you MUST know mine» attitude. Not here. I felt like Brad Garrett in that 7UP commercial, I wanted to sing and dance down the aisles in glee! No Mrs. Curmudgeon here! «Pliers, ma’am» «Why yes thank you! And may I have a 16″ Multi Position Prybar too?» «Why here it is, do you need a 4 Piece Fuel Brake Line Wrench Set?» «Oh no we are good with this. but thanks!» Just one happy customer. Thanks for making my shopping experience a good one! So congratulations Home Depot Hialeah, you deserve the 500th review!
