Stopped into Alessio’s late night. A few people were still eating some wings or slices of pizza at the bar. They had a DJ the night we were there. The DJ was playing good hip hop music. The space is a little awkward because it’s a restaurant and switches over at night. However, the best part was that the drinks were cheap and STRONG. We ordered two shots of fireball — it was more like a glass of fireball.

I have been a regular here every Tuesday for a few years after playing Disc Golf at Glen Hilton Park. Pros: Good friendly bartender who knows you by name. Owned by Frankie’s Pizza so if you want a slice of pizza New York style then it you won’t be disappointed! Calm atmosphere and a place where I’ve met many interesting people. Don’t forget to ask for bar snacks they keep them behind the counter :) don’t tell them I told you :) Plenty of TVs Cons: Beer selection is the Achilles heel here! With the western region of NC flush with so many great beers it makes you wonder. Believe me I’ve tried suggesting a few gold medal winners from the Great All American Beer Festival, but maybe there is a distribution problem, the same excuse can’t be used for why local breweries are not used. Such as Catawba Valley(Morganton), Howard’s(Lenoir) and several others out in the Asheville area. Place can seem a bit dark at times! If you can’t get the draft at least get some great bottles :)
