Love it that they have a wide variety. But one time I came and ate around 1 – 2 pm, I could tell that the food was stored from the night before and they had just heated it back up. The food was not fresh that day.

Not bad, pretty clean and the hibachi grill is a nice option. Only complaints– some food was cold and sushi was warm. Typical Chinese mega buffet fare, but good for a quick meal.

HUGE variety of food and sushi with a hibachi grill. Food is good and staff is friendly but does get busy during meal rush hours so go either later in afternoon or early evening for quicker seating and less crowded dining area. I would recommend the sushi bar label their rolls for customers to identify what they want. The hot tea is a favorite of mine and would HIGHLY recommend it.

We have eaten here fairly regularly since it opened a few years ago. The food is pretty consistent but the pans are frequently empty. Of special note is the wonton soup. There is always broth but the won ton are often absent. One of my main complaints is that they never change a thing. One menu for lunch, one for dinner and nothing ever changes. No new dishes are ever put out. But my biggest complaint is the staff. I have never seen a bunch of unhappier people in my life. They walk around with unsmiling faces every single time we go, It is as if they are miserable and hate their jobs. The servers are not too bad but the hostesses, cashiers and people that work up front… are awful. And it is like that always. They never smile when they greet or seat you, and never smile when they take your money and are not pleasant in any way. I don’t expect anyone to have a smile plastered on their face, but these people… they are unbelievable. You almost feel like you are ruining their day. Beyond that, the food is predictable. It is usually hot and fresh(if the pan is not empty) it would just be nice to change up a few things with some variety. Occasionally, we visit a buffet about 90 minutes from here and their variety is wonderful so it can be done. I think this place would benefit from some re-training of their front-end people with their people skills. But, I think that one of the ladies we see is actually an owner and she never is pleasant or smiles either so I guess that says a lot. If you are that unhappy at your job… move on! Find something you love to do instead of looking like you are walking to your execution.

The staff is really nice and quite sweet! The food is… I mean, it’s a Chinese buffet in the middle of a small southern town. Not bad, but not the best!

The food was good will be dinning here again. I will avoid going 30 min before they close because I got a friendly reminder that they close in 30 min and made me feel rushed. Other than that I have no complaints.

Seriously if you find this place to be not worth the money PLEASE contact me so I can call you a fool. Dinner Friday and Saturday nights are the best nights to go. They have some amazing light breaded fried shrimp and the curry chicken when they have it out is delicious. Even the crawdads are good. The hibachi is good, but I honestly go to this place for the sushi. By far hands down the best all you can eat sushi place North of Charlotte. The sushi chef will make anything you ask. I always leave a tip cause he’s doing a specific job for me. The sweet tea is always up to par as well. I really have only been to a few places like this place in the WORLD. I’ve been to 46 states, The Bahamas, and 12 countries. Trust me I know good food.

We were on the way home from Ashville, Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. The place was jamb packed. Crazy busy. Excellent variety of Chinese food. Sushi was fresh and tasty. Hibachi grill had a lot of variety. Service was great. This was a totally unexpected surprise that made my family happy!!!

Horrible buffet. The hostess told us there was a student discount on our entrance. We got the bill without any discount. Granted, we could afford the full-price adult meals, but the owner gave us the lame excuse of «oh, her? She doesn’t speak English well.» And that’s our fault how??? Food is mediocre, most of the beef and broccoli, chicken and broccoli, and green beans were out(poor food refills). Crawfish isn’t seasoned properly. Sushi was decent for a buffet, and our waitress was friendly and attentive; but the cashier/owner’s lame excuse really put us off. Don’t come here unless you crave mediocre«Chinese food.» Will definitely NOT be recommending or ever coming back.

Sanitary Rating: 94. Good variety of food. Helps serve to each individual. Pricey-ish. Not supposed to be like TinTin(I hate TinTin in Charlotte). Would rather eat here than there.

I went here for lunch, the food is good, you’ll find someone from everywhere here, they have a sushi bar with a nice variety of sushi… seafood is also good! I like the buffet style restaurants because I can eat a large quantity of a variety of vegetables and of course I can always eat sushi!

The BEST Chinese buffet around! They have a large variety of food, something for everyone. They also have the grill where you can choose the meat and veggies. The sushi bar is the best I’ve ever eaten! The wait staff is usually very good… we’ve only had one bad experience and I believe it was because the waitress was either new or overwhelmed with the number of tables she had(either way, all she had to do was refill our drinks.) They have a good variety on their salad bar and dessert bar. I would highly recommend!

Service is okay. I’ve had some good waitresses and some bad. The food is good, just typical buffet food but a little better than other buffets in the area. The sushi, on the other hand, is great! I love how it is always made fresh. The price is a bit more than other buffets but it definitely is what you pay for.

I’ve been here twice so far and I’m not really impressed. My nephew likes it, so I take him. They do have quite a variety, but I found the food to be so-so. The hibachi was okay but bland, some of the other staple dishes were not that well seasoned, and the sliver of steaks were ehhh. I have had better, and I do mean better! I don’t believe the NY in front of Hibachi Buffet stands for New York. I’ve been to Buffets in New York and this one does not stand up to any in New York! The two things I did enjoy was a dessert cake, it had an espresso like flavor and the fresh cantaloupe was sweet! This is not a place I care to revisit or recommend.

Among the better buffets in the area. Large selection and service is decent. It’s hard to give a serious review for a buffet, but this is the best I’ve got for you my friends.

They have SUSHI, but none of it is labeled. I have severe seafood allergies to some fish, and I didn’t feel like asking what each and every item was, so I couldn’t eat any of it. Bummer! HIBACHI. Nothing looked the least bit appealing. They do have a large SELECTION of items, but not one item was above mediocre, and like another reviewer said, some were just plain bad.(I didn’t think that it was possible to mess up sautéed green beans, but… they found a way.) I have also noted that this restaurant doesn’t REFILL their food trays in a timely fashion. Good Chinese buffets have someone continually monitoring the food levels, stirring the food, and refilling the trays, but not NY Hibachi Buffet. This is a very large restaurant with SEATING of 300+. I have eaten here two or three times, and every time the SERVICE was all but nonexistent. Zero drink refills doesn’t cut it when eating salty Chinese dishes. On one particularly memorable visit, I gave my waitress $ 20 to pay the bill, and she didn’t bring me any change! I had to chase here down and ask her, «where’s my money?» She said, «I wondered why you were leaving me a $ 10 tip.» Oh, really? That makes two of us! I haven’t been back since… On a positive note, I found the restaurant to be CLEAN, which is why I gave them two stars instead of only one. I also found this restaurant buffet to be quite PRICEY for a Chinese buffet. I don’t mind paying a little more if there are a few delicious items on the buffet. I have not found ANY food item that was worth coming back. It should be noted that I LOVECHINESEFOOD, and I LOVEBUFFETS, so not finding anything to love is extremely unusual. I come here about once every two or three years to see if they have improved on their food quality, but invariably — they haven’t. My last visit was 2012, so maybe I’ll give them another try, but it won’t be a priority.

Went tonight for the first time, and for a Chinese/hibachi buffet I was surprised! Very large for Hickory; I believe other reviewers claims that it could seat 300+. Service was decent, the restaurant was clean, and the food variety was excellent. We were there a bit after the dinner rush which you could tell because some of the dishes were a bit ‘tired’ and fresh needed to be brought out. The sushi selection was excellent, overall I was pleased and intend to go back.

This buffet opened 2÷8÷2012. It is a Chinese/hibachi buffet. They have plenty to choose from and plenty of seating. I was told this place could seat 300+. I have been several times during lunch. Since the opening the place keeps getting busier and busier. They have a wide variety of Chinese dishes and a hibachi made-to-order grill to boot. I have not tried their hibachi grill, but it appears to be a hit. They have sushi on the buffet, with a person making it constantly. The sushi is good and fresh. The place is new and the owners are the same ones that own China Garden Buffet. I believe they are moving all operations to the new location soon, but don’t know that for sure. The service is not top notch, but they are friendly and try their best to deal with the onslaught of hungry Chinese loving customers. Not a lot to say that you don’t already know about Chinese Buffets. This one stands apart, because of the choices and freshness of food. My favs: Hot and Spicy Shrimp, Fried Dumplings, Curry Chicken, Sushi(all) and plenty more.
