This little hole-in-the-wall has been around since 1961, and still serves up the best Southern Chili Dog in High Point, most likely the best in Guilford County, and though the price has risen to $ 1.80, it still is a nice value — and the Burger am pretty good, too! There are a lot of items on the menu, most quintessentially Southern(Grits, Liver Pudding & Egg, Bologna, Deviled Eggs, and more), and it is all good, but the hot dog and the burger are special.

One word: yum! Yes, Oscar’s is small and yes, Oscar’s is old — but don’t let that stop you. The burgers are definitely the best that I have ever had, and I’ve recently become a huge fan of their hot dogs. The staff is welcoming and very friendly. They also deliver, and accept credit cards for delivery also. Glad to know this place exists!

Had the Oscar and it was a great burger. I will definitely come back for the burger and Arnold Palmer. Fries were so so. Hot dog was avg NC style hot dog. Staff was very friendly. Be prepared to wait.

This is classic southern fine dining with burgers and hot dogs! Good food in a casual atmosphere if you like burgers and dogs. Very small, casual, and fun.

i couldn’t decide what to have for lunch, pakistani, mexican, turkish… decided on the all American burger. ordered the double cheeseburger with onion and mustard. eating this burger was like going to burger heaven. just the right amoun of fat, and the taste is something you don’t get from a chain burger joint. BEEF!!! also ordered a single to go, more than i needed but damn it was GOOD! one of the best burgers I have had in the high point area

You gotta love this place. I look forward to going back and ordering slightly differently. The place was busy and the people were really nice. Ms T had I each had a burger and I had a chili dog on the side. This was a very good diner burger, cooked to your order on a flat top. I ordered my burger with cheese and tomato and lettuce. Although I eat a lot of burgers with L/T, I really think I prefer this style with chili and slaw. So that is a personal lesson for next time. In fact next time I’ll go for the double called the Oscar Burger. I also liked the classic southern chili dog with the standard red weiner and homemade chili in a soft steamed bun. I added slaw and mustard. My only complaint was that it needed more chili. Great authentic place, great feel, great people and although it is located in town, great roadside food.

Love this frickin place. Best grease in the carolina’s. Oscar burger is the way to go. Onion rings are good too. I actually tried the liver pudding it was interesting. Kind of like a liver sausage sandwich.

This is a local legend for Furniture Market folks as well as locals. The burgers are totally top-shelf. The«hamburger» is a full scale winner. Ths is the real deal burger! The«Oscar Burger» is a double meat cheese burger. If you order this one, you might as well loosen your belt before you start to eat it. Oscars offers counter service only, orders take a while because they are cooked as ordered. Today, my fries were warm(at best)…but, the burger was AWESOME!!!
