Pizza Vino

My workplace ordered take out from this location today, and we were all very pleased. I had the buffalo chicken wrap with hot chips and a side salad. The side salad was huge! I ordered an unsweet tea too, but I wasn’t very impressed with it. Maybe the tea urns need to be cleaned? It was good though. Delivery is always super quick, and the prices are reasonable.

Their garlic knots are good, but we were there for 15 minutes before they came out. I got the deluxe calzone, it was okay. Mane I would have liked the Stromboli better. I’m just not impressed with the place, I’ve ate their in the past and not been super happy. My wife likes it a lot, but I’d rather go next door to Sir Pizza where it’s VERY good.

I went to Vino Pizza on a Friday night around 8:30. Given the time I expected, like most restaurants, there to be a bit of a crowd. Not the case… I took this as an early indication of a problem that the locals picked up on.
Service was excellent! So, I ruled that out early. Had to be the food or prices.
After being let down that there was no vino (wine) at Vino Pizza, I opted for the pizza. I can’t eat a good pasta without a red or a white to compliment the flavors.
That being said, I was really bummed that my meal didn’t come with the complimentary salad like the other menu options did.
So, for an additional 5 bucks or so I purchased the one time only salad bar option (all you can eat also available for a few cents more.) Classic Iceberg lettuce or dark greens with a little bit of reds mixed in. Nice selection of dressing. Only shredded cheddar as a cheese… and some other not-​so-​italian salad toppings.
Garlic Knot appetizers arrived with the pizza. They were very tasty.
The pizza and was a bit disappointing… the center was under cooked and doughy as a result.(Half of each slice flopped down do to gravity) The outer edges were on the verge of beginning to brown, but were pretty tough.
Again service was great! And because of this I will give them a chance at redemption the next time I’m in the area.

Pizza was fresh and service was good. It doesn’t look like much but it’s a great little place.

A must try if you are in the archdale area. You wouldn’t know from the look of the place what good food and friendly waitresses are inside. I have to say the Stromboli is excellent!

I’ve visited Pizza Vino several more times after my first review. They truly have corrected the dirty dishes left on tables situation. Every subsequent time we’ve went the tables are bused immediately.
The food is really good… especially the pizza. It can sometimes be a long wait for a pizza… but it is well worth it. You can tell that everything about that pizza is fresh and homemade, therefore I don’t mind a little bit of a wait. Also, the service here is excellent… ALL of the waitresses are extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive.

Wasn’t impressed with pizza, very greasy! Good service though, I’ll stick to Sir Pizza.

Maybe our experience is unusual, but we found that the service overshadows the food (and not in a good way). I wish that weren’t the case. We ordered takeout, and although we were quoted 15 – 20 minutes, it took more than 45 to get our original order. Once we got it back to our place to eat it, we discovered that 3 of a possible 6 things were wrong. We called to get a refund of those items, but since we’re not from here, we were offered remade/​corrected food instead. We hesitantly agreed, and it took more than 45 more minutes to get the correct order. I appreciate the offer to correct things, and I appreciate that they delivered the second order, but we ate two hours after placing our original order. And that is unacceptable. I wish I had an appetite once I got the right order so I could give an honest assessment of the food.

This is the reason why I Unilocal.We were traveling through NC and needed to find a place. If it were not for Unilocal,I would have ended up a Chilis eating yet another black bean burger.
I had the stromboli and for a place not really known for its ethnic Italian population, it was good. Another group had the pizza and it looked pretty good.

The one Unilocal review made us stop in. We were driving to Charlotte and figured it would be better then the average chain. I had the stromboli and it was average or better. The price was good and the service was good. Its a good local pizza joint.

I can only speak to the individual pizza with bacon and eggplant because that’s all I’ve had there but it’s ta die fer! I have had the opportunity to compare to the pizza restaurant next door and I really think the crust is so much tastier at Pizza Vino!
