All Bro-Country over the PA aside, this is a decent place to have a sandwich. We went on a Sunday evening, and the place was about half full. We were allowed to pick our table, but no matter where you sit you’re going to have a decent view of a TV. The menu features standard sports bar fare, and prices are about average. I ordered their equivalent of a buffalo chicken sandwich with waffle fries, and my wife ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich with hot chips. I was pretty impressed with both the size and taste of my sandwich. It was a large breast of fried chicken tossed in hot sauce and topped with Jack cheese lettuce, tomato, and ranch. My fries were crispy like I like, but otherwise nothing special. The Philly was smaller than I would have guessed, but the flavor was right and the steak juicy. The chips were just OK, I wish the ranch were a bit thicker. Overall, this would be a 3 star review if my sandwich wasn’t so darn tasty. Service was good, our drinks never ran dry and the waitress offered to go drinks which I gladly accepted since my sandwich was spicy and salty. Verdict for me is that it’s a good neighborhood watering hole. I don’t think I’d make a special trip, but would stop if I’m the area and wanted to have a bite to eat and watch TV.

Stopped in on NYD before heading back to VA. We were pleasantly surprised. Service was great and food was delicious. We got potato skins and split a Philly cheesesteak. They were both great!!! My only issue was the mac n cheese… it had great reviews but I thought it was super bland. Could just be me though… I was piping hot.

Stopped in today and I ordered the nachos with chicken. Although they are different from any I’ve ever had, they were the best I’ve had. They pour queso over them which made me not really need the sour cream, but the other thing that made them extra wonderful were the nacho chips. If I had to describe them, the texture and taste remind me of the tortilla shell that taco salads come in in Mexican restaurants. They are light and airy and just plain yummy.

Two stars for Rixster’s Grill because the service was quite poor and the food really wasn’t that good. Even though we were one of two tables in the restaurant the waitress still failed to wait on us. Both of our drinks went dry more than once and when she finally realized it she said she’d be right back with a refill which didn’t happen until WAY later. She also brought the appetizer and entrees out at borderline the exact same time. After she finally came back with the refill we asked her to just bring the check because we had been finished with the food for about 10 minutes. I had the chicken salad wrap(asked for the croissant which was on the menu but apparently they no longer serve) and I must say, I am a LOVER of all chicken salads good and questionable but I ate about three bites of it. The chicken chunks were MASSIVE and not easy to chew which paired with a total lack of flavor made it not worth the effort. Now, I will say, their Mac and Cheese is DANK! Y’all that stuff will make you sing the hallelujah chorus. The husband got the Reuben and potato salad. Reuben was thumbs up and potato salad two thumbs down. Just stick with the Mac. The prices were reasonable and the portions are big but even that delicious Mac won’t be enough to make me visit this place twice.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Ended up buying two courses. This place has fantastic flavor. Great burgers. Great appetizers. The atmosphere is pretty neat too. It’s definitely got a sports bar feel, but the actual style of the place is on par. They’ll definitely separate you from the rowdy sports fans which is nice. Or put you right next to them for some riling entertainment which is also nice. Servers are polite and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

5 star experience at Rixster Grill over this past weekend! My husband and I took our two small children here for dinner on Saturday night because it was raining pretty hard all day and we were feeling very lazy and didn’t feel like cooking. We were looking for something pretty close to home that was on the casual side but not as casual as someplace like Cookout. So on Unilocal I went and Rixster Grill I found! We were greeted very sweetly and politely by the wonderful hostess; she was very accommodating and allowed us to choose our own table in the dining section away from the bar. Our server was a very sweet and friendly blonde woman, I wish we would’ve gotten her name because she was wonderful and I would love to have her again. We explained that we are new to North Carolina & the Triad area; she happily went over the menu as well as the wine list with us. I ordered a glass of merlot and it was fabulous; I had two glasses, yum yum! I enjoyed the barbecue bacon burger with waffle fries; my burger was cooked perfectly, the bacon was delicious, the fries were hot, crispy and salty and were extra delicious dipped in their homemade bacon barbecue sauce. Holy smokes, that stuff is incredible! My husband enjoyed the mushroom melt burger with waffle fries; he absolutely loved his meal and he was enjoying dipping his waffle fries in ranch dressing. Yum! My son and daughter ordered off of the kids menu; chicken fingers with fries and a cheeseburger with fries. Both meals were cooked well and my kids loved their dinner. We ordered a piece of chocolate cake for dessert with four spoons; it was rich, delicious and the perfect way to end our dinner! We will most definitely return to Rixster Grill for either lunch or dinner in the future. I have a feeling this is going to be one of our go-to places for a casual meal with our family and definitely when our family & friends from out of state visit as well. Thanks so much for a great family meal! We’ll be back!

Well from the minute I drove up and walked in and got my seat at the bar, I was happy! Great vibe with sports on the TV, great tunes on the jukebox, drink specials, outstanding food(not just for a bar but just overall, great) and spectacular service! This is a place I wish I had at home! Special props and shout out to Gentry! How about friendly, sweet, engaged, prompt and fantastic! Best service I’ve had in a long time… not over the top, just genuine and perfect! Gentry and all the folks at Rixters, well done!

Rixter’s is the closest thing to a «neighborhood pub» in this area. It’s popularity has steadily grown since moving to this location several years ago. There is a restaurant side, a bar side, and a good-sized outdoor patio. The patio serves more as a smoking section than an area for those looking for outside dining. The crowd is a friendly, drama-free mix of all ages and types. I find the food, both standard bar food and more ambitious dinner choices, to be better than average. I tend to stick with sandwiches, salads and wings and I haven’t been disappointed? The greater test, however, comes from other members of my family who are far pickier. They always manage to find something they like and I’ve rarely, if ever, heard complaints(and we’ve made many visits to Rixter’s, especially over the last year.) There aren’t a great deal of drink specials run at Rixter’s, but there isn’t a need because the prices are quite reasonable. There is a decent array of beers on tap and a typical selection of wines available. Add to this a full bar and a staff that will happily make whatever concoction pleases you. Speaking of the service, this is one area that differentiates Rixter’s. The waitstaff and ownership are friendly and welcoming. They do cater to a sizable and growing group of regulars and I’ve heard complaints from«non-regulars» about not getting the same service, which I could understand. However, I would say 90% of the times I’ve been there the service has been outstanding. There are occasional lapses, but the good far outweigh the bad. The owner regularly wanders the floor striking up conversations with the patrons. I am a fan of Rixter’s. I live nearby and feel fortunate to have this place so convenient. I wasn’t blown away by my first visit, but over time I have come to appreciate the things that make it a special place. Rixter’s has become our place to meet after HS football and lacrosse games, to watch ball games, celebrate birthdays or just meet up.

This is a fun little sports bar. The jukebox is always playing and the staff is super welcoming. There menu consists of mostly bar food but I see lately they have a new addition with more dinner type selections like surf & turf and seafood pasta dishes. The draft bud light is always cold and always on special. Oh wait, did I mention all the TV’s… there are 10TV’s in the bar area alone. This is one of my favorites.

The restaurant was clean and service was swift. We were in on a Sunday afternoon and the bar had quite a few people but we were the only ones in the dining room. I asked about recommendations and the server had several. She was very friendly and knowledgable. I had the Reuben with hot chips. The sandwich was perfect but the chips were hard and cold. They tasted good but there was no ‘hot’ in the hot chips. All in all, a good experience and I would go back to give them another try.

If you’re looking for a place with an excellent menu, a large portion of hot chips, awesome pasta salad and cold beer at an excellent price — grab your keys and get to Rixters today… yesterday was my first stop there and will not be my last… very roomy inside, not pretentious… just a little too dark in the dining area… aside from that, check it out.

My boyfriend and I went here a few nights ago. They had customers but were not busy, we stood at the door for a least 5 minutes waiting on someone. A few servers walked past us to their tables not speaking. We ended up leaving. I’m not sure if we will be back. We have enjoyed the food here before but the greeting has been a problem from day one. Very disappointed!

Cool sports bar to watch the game with your special someone. Atmosphere was low key but still super fun. The restaurant has a decent menu ranging from casual bar food to nice protein based entrees. For an appetizer, I had the ‘peel and eat’ shrimp. They came lightly coated in old bay with a side of drawn butter. For my entrée, I had the blackened chicken breast with rice pilaf and fresh green beans. All dishes were pretty good. I like that the restaurant focuses on uses seasoning instead of salt to prepare the food. A solid selection of beer and wine for a sports bar. Service was great! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive… she made sure my coworkers and I were properly taking care of! Check it out!

Went there for dinner. We(2) persons seated and eventually waiter came to our table. Noticed lots of people waiting on food. Once our order was taken, we did not see our waiter for 15 minutes. At the 30 minute mark we saw our waiter and asked about why noone was getting their food? She said they were working on it. At 40 minutes our table and another table decided that was long enough. I left enough money for the two teas and a tip for the waiter. Have not been back.

A pleasant shock. We were getting a replacement tire put on down the road and were starving, so we set out to see what we could find within walking distance. Rixter’s smelled amazing as we were walking by, so we decided to give it a shot and I am glad we did! The food was HOT and fresh. I got the Tbird sandwich and it was wonderful, if a bit greasy. The waffle fries were to die for! The food also came out quickly, which I am a fan of! Our waitress was very friendly, offering suggestions when asked and just generally being a smiling, happy lady! We will be back.

There are obviously two Rixters listed on Unilocal.I reviewed the other one, however, felt the need to review this one too!(Sharon must add her 2 cents!) Great staff, cool vibe and the ribs are awesome! Never had a bad experience at Rixters, and I am confident that if I ever have a bad experience the owner would Sincerely address it. Glad to have Rixters in High Point… did I mention the home cooked Ribs are awesome?(Oh I did lol) Enjoy!

Rixster is a pleasant surprise. This is a relatively inexpensive and comfortable place to kick back and enjoy a beer. We decided to try it and were not disappointed. The restaurant has a decent selection of beer and food. We got a large draft of bud light for 3.00, which is a good deal around here. We ordered the fried mushrooms and they were awesome. Cooked perfectly, large portion size and served with ranch. I ordered a black and blue burger and it was delicious. Burger cooked as ordered, with blue cheese and mushrooms. The fries were not bad either. All in all, we got off for 31.00 with everything. We will return.

Decided to watch a Monday night football game at Rixster Grill and it was a good choice. We sat in the restaurant part of the building and other than a small crowd in the bar area, the rest of the place was relatively empty. They had good beer specials…$ 3 for a tall draft. The food was pretty darn good. I ordered a bacon cheddar burger with hot chips. The burger was decent and the hot chips were good. A nice mix of crispy and«floppy» potato chips served with ranch. Floppy chips are the BEST! Service was spot on. Drinks were never empty, she checked on us frequently and was friendly. The food came out pretty quickly. My hubby and I very much appreciated the 70 inch TV in the dining room while watching the game. The inside of Rixster was laid out nicely and had the look and feel of a sports bar. I will return for sure.

This was our first visit to this recently relocated sports bar/hamburger joint. It was located in the N. Main Street area of High Point before coming here a year or so ago. The new location is in that maze of restaurants, shops, and offices at the intersection of W. Wendover Avenue and Eastchester Drive. There is a large bar area with stools, booths, and tall table setups. And there is a regular dining area separted from the bar by screened wall, with booths and table, and a small stage for live music. There are large screen TVs almost everywhere — a sports junkie/beer drinker’s heaven on earth. The food here is the of the pub grub variety, wiith Wings, sandwiches, burgers, hot chips, and FF — with a few soup and salad choices, if you insist — I didn’t. The Usual Cheeseburger is a very, very nice burger — rather thick, with great flavor. No formalities here about inquiring as to how you wanted that burger cooked. We chose the Hot Chips as a side, and while these are not fresh cut in house, they are quite good, especially with the nice Ranch Dressing. This good sized burger goes for $ 7.50 with a side — decent value here. The Reuben comes on marble rye(that bread always reminds me of the Seinfeld episode) and is very tasty. The FF we chose were excellent, and the serving size was large — both for $ 6.50 — an excellent value. Diet sodas ran $ 1.85. All in all, some pretty good pub food here, including several different hot dogs I’ll try on our next visit. The service is generally good, though a little cliquish in nature — several obvious regulars were waited on before us, though they came in well after us — this kind of thing drives me nuts — but otherwise the service was attentive, drinks never emptied, check quickly rendered. We’ll be back.
